Huge trees rustle in the breeze, stray leaves flitter down as the tell tale signs of autumn beginning. Sunlight filters through the canopy causing a mesmerising seams of sunrays illuminating and casting captivating shadows. The sound of the river echoed across their hollowed out campsite causing an ever peaceful lull. After taking in the breathtaking view, the teens begin to unload the vehicle. They set everything on a large flat area they deemed a suitable location to pitch their tent. With it already being after noon, Naruto wanted to get the fire going so that he could assemble the stew seeing as it would take some time to cook.
Realising a flaw in his plan he hollers over to Sasuke rather sheepishly. "Hey, Sasuke? We need wood."
Facepalming before quickly regaining his composure Sasuke says, "dobe, we're in a forest."
"Teme, I don't think the campground we're staying in would think too kindly of us chopping down it's trees. I don't know if sticks will be enough to keep the fire going." Naruto remarked with an irritated eyebrow twitch. He knew there was an abundance of wood around, but they couldn't just chop down the trees throughout the campgrounds. Also, they didn't have an axe. Some sticks would be alright provided they weren't damp but still, they need a large amount of wood to cook a stew and keep the first going until bed. Plus they need it to cook come morning as well.
Looking as if he's carefully thinking through the blond's explanation Sasuke asks, "What do you expect me to do then?"
Naruto crosses his arms across his chest as he leans against one of the many trees. "You could see if the campground shop has any. Places like this usually have wood for purchase don't they?"
Sasuke squints his eyes at the blond. "You want me to just go and hope they have what we need?"
Naruto stands up straight and shrugs. "You have a better idea?"
The raven hangs his head and sighs in defeat. "No, I guess I don't."
Sasuke starts making his way back towards the SUV. "You coming with?"
Naruto gives Sasuke a hesitant look. "You think it'll be fine leaving all our stuff here unattended?"
Sasuke shrugs his shoulders. "I see no issue with it. Besides, it's the off season right? I didn't see a single camper on our drive over."
"I guess-" Naruto stops mid statement when he realises they needed a picture of their camp before being set up.
Raising his eyebrow at the blond, slightly confused Sasuke asks, "what are you doing?"
Naruto pulls his phone out and unlocks it. He steps back so he can get a good vantage point to capture the whole campsite. Turning his attention to the raven he points towards their belongings. "We need this picture, remember? Go stand over there so I can get proof of you being here."
Rolling his eyes because he hates having his picture taken, Sasuke obediently obliges with a grunt. "Fine, but you're next."
Naruto waves his hand in a dismissive fashion. "Yeah yeah, whatever teme. Just hurry."
Naruto waits for Sasuke to walk over to where he was instructed. Sasuke stands there hands in pocket looking unimpressed as usual waiting for Naruto to finally take the shot. "There, done. That wasn't so bad was it?"
Sasuke rolls his eyes at the playful blond. "Whatever, your turn dobe." The two teens quickly switch places allowing Sasuke to quickly get his shot. That's when he realised two things. One, he hadn't personally taken any pictures with his phone before and two, he just took, and will be taking many more pictures of Naruto.
'Maybe these pictures won't be so bad.' He mentally smirks.
Naruto breaks him from his fantasising. "We really should hurry, I need to get the stew going or we won't be eating till midnight."
Shaking his head as if it could settle his thoughts, Sasuke offers the blond a nod. "Hn."
Lucky for the two teens they actually still had wood left for sale. The shopkeeper was telling them how lucky they were because they usually don't bother keeping stocked this time of year. In another month they will be completely shut down until the winter passes.
Relieved they didn't have to find an alternative solution, the two made it back to their campsite where Naruto made quick work of preparing their fire. He found some dry sticks that worked perfectly for kindling then arranged three good sized pieces of wood into a tipi like structure. Once the fire was successfully started and looked like it wasn't going to extinguish itself, both teens quickly snapped a shot of each other for their photo catalogue and began to set up their tent.
Scratching the back of his head, Sasuke asks, "You ever set up a tent before?"
"No, never." Naruto responds honestly as he tries violently shaking the tent out of its box.
Noticing the difficulty the blond was having Sasuke chuckles before grabbing hold of the box to make it easier. "Here, now you pull."
Pulling the tent out of the now stabilised box Naruto returns the chuckle. "Thanks, that was much easier."
Sasuke shakes his head slightly amused. "Hn."
Opening the bag that housed all the tent components both teens felt a tad bit overwhelmed. "Instructions?" Naruto asks.
Nodding his head, Sasuke concurred. "Instruction."
After reading the instructions they found that the text really wasn't that daunting. The poles clipped together and slid in easy enough. It was a bit trickier trying to bend the rods into their footings but eventually they got it. Unfortunately they realised they needed to remove them and do it all over again because they forgot to slide the rain shied through when they first thread the rods. After forty minutes and a few colourful expletives they finally pegged the tent down.
"Picture time!" Naruto exclaimed. He was getting a kick out of forcing the raven to have his picture taken over and over.
"Tch, fine but you first this time." Sasuke retorted. He found he didn't mind the idea of Naruto taking his picture, but he was still far more excited about taking more pictures of the blond.
Naruto shakes his head and chuckles. "Fine by me."
Naruto quickly stood in front of the tent pointing at it, as if saying "look we did it," before switching places with Sasuke who just stood there with his hands in his pockets looking as uninterested as his other pictures.
After Naruto put his phone away Sasuke looked at the tent and grunted. "We should have just spent the extra money and gotten one that sets itself." Having to redo the tent rods may have dampened his mood slightly.
Naruto smirks at him while playfully elbowing his side. "Oh come on teme, this wasn't that bad."
Sasuke rolls his eyes and scoffs. He secretly liked any type of contact Naruto made with him. "Tch, you could have read the instructions better dobe."
Naruto tries to defend himself, pointing his finger at Sasuke. "Hey, I didn't see you offer to read the instructions."
"Firstly, pointing's rude dobe. Secondly, I thought I would help you build some character," retorts the raven.
Not caring if his pointing was considered rude or not, the irony of Sasukes comment caused Naruto to snort. "Because you're just oozing with character."
Sasuke folds his arms and looks away like a scolded child. "Tch, at least I could have followed instructions."
"Alright Mr. Perfect, you want to make supper seeing I'm so incapable?" Naruto asks with his eyebrow raised in a teasing fashion. Talking to each other every night for a week, Naruto has come to know that Sasuke isn't a fan of cooking.
Whipping his head back his glares at Naruto. "You wouldn't."
Naruto gives Sasuke a mischievous grin. "Oh but I would." he wouldn't really make Sasuke cook, they had already decided he would cook their meals.
"Hn, how about I wash the vegetables?" Sasuke offers. He really didn't mind helping the blond, he was secretly enjoying their little banter. Outsiders may see bickering teens, but the two of them both knew there was absolutely no malice behind eithers words.
Naruto keeps the grin plastered on his face while sticking his hand out, "deal."
Smirking at the blond Sasuke gladly shakes. "Hn, deal."
For the second time today the teens' hands have come in contact together. Something surged between the two of them. The feeling of each other's soft, warm hands send tingles of electrical impulses through their bodies. Both teens lingered, neither wanting to make the first move to let go. Trying not to panic, Naruto was the first to let go, he knew that Sasuke liked him, he just wasn't sure how he liked him. Plus he wasn't sure of his own feelings, he's made it a point not to get attached to anyone.
Sasuke hid his detest at the lack of contact with Naruto quite well. He was quickly realising it was becoming impossible to keep his feelings to himself. He wanted to talk to Naruto all the time, he wanted to feel more than just handshakes, and he couldn't deny the jealousy he felt when that girl clung to him at the store. He just needed to find the right way to tell the blond. He wasn't sure if Naruto felt the same way he did, but there were times he was almost positive Naruto was showing interest. It was so frustrating, he wasn't used to having this lack of knowledge or confidence, he's and Uchiha, he's supposed to excel at everything. The thought is enough to make him mentally sigh. He hoped that this assignment may present a time where he could find the confidence to share his feelings with the blond.
The two teens forget about their thoughts for the moment and carry on with their tasks. Sasuke used a bottle of water and a bowl to wash the vegetables while Naruto sat beside him and cut them up evenly. Passing the last of the vegetables to the blond Sasuke observed Narutos skillful hands cut everything perfectly before finishing the assembly of the stew. The campsite had grills that went over their fire pits for anyone who wanted to cook over an open flame.
Naruto places the pot centred on the grill top, trying to keep his focus on one task at a time. He'd never cooked over an open flame before so he really had no idea how long the stew was going to take so he figured he'd just constantly check and make adjustments as needed. With the stew officially starting to cook, the teens crossed off yet another picture for their assignment. This time it was a picture of them taking a picture of each other, Naruto crouched in front of the fire while Sasuke stood on the other side looming over it.
Sasuke stares dumbfoundead at a rather cheeky looking blond. "I can't believe you were actually serious."
"Keep up teme, I told you I don't lie. Now take the picture," retorts the blond who is currently standing over his man made puddle, string tied stick in hand.
With a heavy sigh, Sasuke takes the picture. "Still, why fake fishing ?"
Naruto shrugs his shoulders, but a small mischievous smirk tugs on his lips. "I just like fucking with Kakashi."
Raising an eyebrow at the blond Sasuke asks, "why?"
Placing the make-shift fishing rod down, Naruto sighs. "I guess we just like tormenting each other, it's kind of like a form of familiarity between us."
Shaking his head the raven snorts. "You're all kinds of strange, you know that?"
All traces of amusement lost, Naruto shrugs his shoulders. "I've been called worse."
Sasukes eyes widened before slouching and lowering his head in an apologetic fashion. "I didn't mean, shit, sorry." It may have been half baked, but Sasuke still apologised, something he seldom does, but he couldn't stand the thought of Naruto thinking he was just trying to torment him like all the others, especially after this morning.
Naruto snorted, "It's fine, I know you didn't mean it as an insult so cheer up, slouching doesn't suit you." He truthfully wasn't offended or hurt by the raven's words, they just happened to remind him of all the truly hurtful words thrown at him with no second thoughts given.
In awe of the blond, he raised his gaze to meet Narutos, a smile ghosted his pale pink lips. "Still, you're the last person I want to offend." Immediately Sasuke mentally facepalms for allowing his inner thoughts to drift outwards uncontrollably.
A brief flicker of shock crosses Naruto, before switching to a look of amusement. "Careful, you're starting to sound like you're going soft."
"Hmph, as if dobe." defends the raven, folding his arms with a pitiful pout gracing his face as he tries to feign disapproval.
Naruto snorts at Sasukes amusing denial. "Whatever you say. Anyways, ready to give actual fishing a go?"
Sasuke wasn't really too keen on the idea of tossing lines and hooks into a river, but this was for an assignment and he would not do it any less than perfectly. "Hn."
Naruto rolled his eyes at the raven. "Alright, you know how to set up your rod?"
Squinting his eyes at the blond as if the answer was obvious. "I thought we established neither of us have fished before."
"Be that as it may, I did some research and watched some videos so I'm pretty confident in giving it a try." shrugs Naruto. He had been curious on how to set up a basic reel and rod, he couldn't believe the amount of knots that could be used just to fasten a hook to a line.
Mentally hitting himself upside the head, Sasuke couldn't believe that he had gapped researching it himself. He really didn't want to admit his neglectfulness. "Tch, I guess you're setting up the rods then."
Naruto smirks at him, he knows the raven's pride is seething at itself right now. "I guess I could...What do I get out of it?" he teases.
Sasuke was thrown off kilter for a moment, he wasn't expecting that reaction. Thoughts of all the things he'd like to do to the blond flitted through his mind. Shaking his head to dismiss the pleasantly intrusive thoughts he responds without thinking, "I'll answer anything you want to know."
Sasuke scolds himself in a mental panic 'what the fuck did I just say?!'
This response took Naruto by surprise. He wasn't one to pry into others affairs, so he wasn't really sure what he would ask the midnight haired teen. "Hm, alright. Though I don't have anything to ask off the top of my head, guess I'll ask later."
Sasuke heaved a heavy breath as quietly as humanly possible. "Fine." He was somewhat relieved that he wasn't going to be smack in the face with a question that would quite possibly leave him feeling vulnerable.
Naruto begins the process of threading the smooth, hard fishing line through the loops down the fishing rod. Once the line is threaded through both rods he sets about attaching the fish hook. Looping it through the hook he lines up the excess line before looping it around loosely and threading the remaining line through the loops he creates he pulls the knot tight. Naruto gives himself a mental pat on the back for successfully tying an improved clinch knot. He repeated the process with Sasukes rod, getting it even quicker, though tightening the knot the hook almost slipped causing him to nearly impale himself with what he would assume to be a very unpleasant barbed hook.
The two teens stroll side by side almost close enough to brush against one another. Naruto obviously knew Sasuke wouldn't know how to cast out, hell he watched a couple videos but wasn't too confident in his own ability either. He was trying to debate his next move while handing the raven's own rod over to him.
Naruto finally ending the endless battle in his brain regarding his options he finally speaks. "So, uh, do you want to try casting or just dangle it in the river for the photos?"
Looking at the awkward blond, Sasuke wasn't sure how to answer either. It was clear to him that Naruto was just as nervous as he was. Though he really couldn't figure out why either of them should be nervous, lots of people had never fished before. That raised another question, did he actually want to try the sport? Or did he just want to give the illusion and get their pictures quickly?
Sasuke wasn't used to being so indecisive, fighting with his inner thoughts he decides to open his mouth and hope what comes out doesn't sound too pathetic. "I guess we can try casting."
'Well so much for the easy option.' Sasuke mentally mutters.'
Naruto was slightly taken back but quickly offered the raven a nod. "Casting it is then." He wasn't sure Sasuke would want to give fishing a proper go, but he surprised him yet again something that has become quite usual between the two of them.
Stopping at the river's edge Naruto hesitantly begins to slowly explain how he interpreted casting while Sasuke follows tentatively alongside. "So you hold the line firm like this." He pauses to allow Sasuke to mimic him before going to the next step. "Now you flip this back like so." Again giving Sasuke time to follow. "Then you bring the rod back and flick it forwards." Naruto watches as the hook and lures sink before finishing." Now you flip this back up."
Hearing a grunt Naruto turns his attention to the raven and what he sees churns his insides into full blown guttural laughter. When Sasuke went to fling his wrist forward he didn't let go of the line quick enough, causing his hook and lure to snag and tangle his luscious, deep, dark midnight hair.
"It's not funny dobe!" Sasuke bites back. He wasn't too keen on having anything in his hair let alone a smell lure accompanied by a rather sharp, barbed hook.
While wiping his tear filled eyes and trying to calm down his rambunctious diaphragm, Naruto attempts to apologise, "Whew, sorry Sasuke but the look on your face."
Glaring at the blond who has yet to completely halt his laughter Sasuke growls, "how about I tangle a hook in your hair and see how you look?!"
Naruto watches the raven try to untangle the hook but seems to be having difficulty. He briefly debated on snapping a photo, but quickly decided against it in favour of keeping his life. Feeling slightly bad now and not wanting Sasuke to accidently snag himself, Naruto walks over and offers his help. "Sorry Sasuke, I really didn't mean to. Here let me help."
"Tch, like I need help from you," mutters the irritated raven, smacking the younger teens' hands impeding its intrusion.
Frowning, he quickly withdraws his hand. Naruto realises he probably overstepped and mentally curses himself before whispering a solemn apology. "Sorry, Sasuke."
From behind his perfectly parted bangs Sasuke peeks up to meet Narutos guilt stricken face. He didn't know why he was so upset, seeing the blond look so dejected made him regret his actions. If he was being honest he wanted the blond to touch his hair. It was at that moment he realised just how close the two of them were, it took everything in him not to get pulled into the gaze of those pulchritudinous pools of blue.
Shaking his head and looking away he finally mumbles, "It's fine."
Naruto begins to turn away and before Sasuke could register what happened he had grasped the blonds wrist, embarrassingly muttering, "um, I think I actually might need your help."
Sasuke mentally scoffs at himself. 'Real smooth Sasuke, you idiot!'
Naruto gives him a kind heat inducing smile. "Sure thing."
Getting even closer to Sasuke, Naruto begins to gently untangle the impertinent hook. Trying his best to hide behind his bangs, Sasuke can't help but admire the beautiful man in front of him. He noticed how Narutos nose was sharp, and perfectly straight, how his jaw was strong and well defined, his eyelashes were gorgeous and long, every bit as golden as his eyebrows. But those eyes, even looking at his task Sasuke couldn't help but be drawn in by the vast oceans that were before him. Narutos scent was tantalisingly captivating, and the tingles he felt surge through his body as Narutos long, skilled fingers gently ran through his hair was enough to make his knees weak. It took a bit of restraint he had to hold himself back from closing the gap between them which was only a few inches. There was no denying it, Sasuke wanted this gorgeous blond before him, and he was going to do everything he could to make that happen.
As he worked on Sasukes hair, Naruto could feel the intense gaze placed on him even behind the curtain on obsidian bangs. Trying to focus on gently removing the hook, Naruto noticed how Sasuke smelt of soothing lavender and how his hair was soft and luscious. He wanted nothing more than to dive his face into the raven's perfect hair and take a deep waft of his magnificent scent. The feeling he was getting was scaring him, he wanted to wrap his arms around the man before him and never let him go. Naruto didn't do relationships, after finding out about having the ability to bond his soulmate to him with Kurama's help he vowed to never have a proper relationship because in the end they would all be pointless. However, with this feeling he wanted nothing more than to spend all his moments close to the raven. He didn't know where or how it came to be but the realisation of his want struck him like a bolt of lightning. Glancing down between dutiful fingers and thin pink lips, Naruto found himself wanting nothing more than to capture them with his own, claiming the raven as his while devouring his magnificent taste with his whole being.
Luckily for him, he had finished detangling the lure before he could do something he would regret. With everything circulating around school about him, the last thing he wanted to do was frighten Sasuke away. He didn't think he could handle the raven running from him. At the beginning it would have been fine, but now it was an unbearable thought.
'I've really screwed myself haven't I?' he solemnly muses. Everything he never wanted was the very thing that was drawing him in. He couldn't deny it anymore, he was falling for the raven.
Finally removing the hook Naruto takes a step back before he gently whispers, "There, it's out."
Shaking his head of his own persistent thoughts Sasuke whispers back, "Thanks."
Trying to rid his body and mind of all impure thoughts Naruto clears his throat, "I guess we should try that again and get our pictures."
Still somewhat dazed, Sasuke nods his head somehow managing to agree. "Yeah, we should."
Night time came rather quick after that, neither teen brought up the obvious connection both felt. The stew ended up taking a little longer than Naruto had anticipated but turned out splendid nonetheless. So far they had managed to capture all their required pictures aside from the smores which is why they were currently roasting marshmallows over their roaring campfire.
Naruto shoots an amused look towards Sasuke. "You don't like sweets do you?"
Glaring at his newly assembled smore with a look of repugnance, Sasuke asks, "how can you tell?"
Finishing assembling his smore, Naruto stands up chuckling, "you're looking at the smore like it's the most repulsive thing you've ever seen."
"Hn, where're you going?" Sasuke asks, wondering why Naruto had begun walking towards the tent leaving his smore in place.
Unzipping their tent Naruto hollers back, "Just getting my weed, I figured the smore would make a good post toke snack."
Sasuke was a little taken back, he knew Naruto smoked, hell he knew a lot of people who did, but he didn't expect Naruto to bring his stuff today. For some reason it made him feel slightly excited. "Ah, didn't know you brought your, um, stuff." he mutters not to sound completely lame.
Naruto rezips their ten after exiting, pipe and weed in hand. Walking back over to the campfire he takes his seat beside Sasuke. "Yeah, figured it would be nice to enjoy a bowl, you know being in nature and all."
Sasuke watches the blond grind up a medium sized light green bud, giving him a curious look. "Hn."
Finishing grinding the nug he brought, Naruto began packing his bowl before his eyes widened in realisation. "Oh shit! You don't mind, do you? I never even asked if you wanted me to do this else where."
Eyeing the fully packed pipe with curiosity, Sasuke shakes his head. "No it's fine, I don't mind."
Giving a hesitant nod Naruto lights up the pipe, taking a large drag, effectively igniting the bowl. He asks through a muffled exhale of smoke, "You've never smoked before have you?"
Watching the clouds of fluffy white smoke blown from the blond's pretty pink lips Sasuke shrugs before answering honestly, "no, never tried it. Nothing against it, just never felt safe enough anytime it was offered."
Hearing this, Naruto contemplates for a moment before holding the pipe out and offering. "Did you want to try?"
Sasuke thinks for a moment. He wasn't sure, but maybe this is why he felt excited, maybe Naruto made him feel safe enough to try. Before he knew it he was answering the blond by grabbing the pipe from him. "I guess, um how do I?"
Understanding Sasuke was asking how to use the pipe Naruto takes the pipe back before demonstrating and explaining. "So you hold it like this, there's a choke that you cover with your thumb and it controls the amount of air flow passing through."
Watching as Naruto exhales another cloud of sweet yet pungent smoke, Sasuke grabs the offered pipe trying to mimic what he'd observed. Taking a deep breath trying to calm his nerves, he brings the pipe up to his mouth, not thoughts except that he is pretty much indirectly kissing Naruto. This reason causes him to take a hit like he was breathing a normal breath of oxygen effectively causing him to immediately choke and slightly gag.
He tries to talk between coughs, "Shit –that–sucked!"
Slightly panicked, Naruto hands him a bottle of water, beginning to chuckle lightly. "Here take this, you're supposed to inhale slowly, not take a deep fucking breath."
Sasuke gladly trades the pipe for the water bottle, still slightly cough stricken he takes a few throat soothing gulps of water before replying. "Thanks, that still sucked."
Naruto chuckles before taking another hit, passing the pipe back to Sasuke. "Just try and take a few smaller hits, stop before you feel your lungs tickle."
Raising an eyebrow at the blond, Sasuke was starting to feel a bit funny, maybe that's why he decided to give it another try, he'd already come this far. "Fine"
This time Sasuke didn't try to breathe through the pipe, he followed Narutos instruction, he still ended up coughing but it was much more manageable. Before he knew it his body was starting to feel like his body's cells were some strange marching band, his body almost felt like it was vibrating and reverberating back. He also noticed that he felt rather relaxed, he almost wanted to laugh for no apparent reason.
After finishing the bowl Naruto goes and puts everything away. When he comes back to the campfire he gives Sasuke his tomatoes. "I figure you'd want these."
Sasuke's eyes widened in amazement, he felt so overjoyed at the sight of his precious tomatoes. Opening the container and popping one in his mouth he thoroughly thanked the blond." Oh my god, thank you! How did you know?"
Naruto chuckles at Sasuke's adorable reaction. "It's a weed thing."
Chipmunk cheeking a tomato Sasuke asks, "what does that mean?"
Still chuckling, Naruto shrugs while trying to explain. "Well, a lot of people refer to it as munchies. I figured given your love for tomatoes you'd enjoy munching on your food of choice."
Sasuke nods thoughtfully. "Ah, that makes sense. I've heard about munchies, just never realised it was a real thing you know?"
Picking up his smore, Naruto finally takes a bite. "Mmm, this is so good. This is why I saved it."
Shaking his head Sasuke smirked at the blond before tossing another tomato in his mouth. "Tomatoes are still better dobe."
Naruto snorts before taking another bite of his chocolatey, marshmallow goodness. His eyes widened as he remembered they forgot their smores picture. "Shit! Sasuke the smores pictures!"
The raven's face freezes, "Shit..."
Snapping his fingers, seemingly having a eureka moment, Naruto points out, "We can use yours, you didn't even touch it."
Swallowing his mouthful, Sasuke nods in agreement. "Alright."
Being a tad bit high, Naruto doesn't realise what he's doing, one moment he's grabbing the smore, the next he's draping his arm around and taking a picture with a rather startled looking raven.
"Alright, your turn teme!" Naruto sheepishly exclaims, realising the comfort and warmth that accompanies the raven in his loose grip.
Slightly dazed by the closeness and comfort of being in the blond's embrace, Sasuke doesn't immediately speak. Instead he takes his phone out, timidly taking a picture of the two with his lonely looking smore. "There," he whispers.
Reluctantly retrieving his arm, Naruto moves back over to his spot, hoping his slightly rosy cheeks go unnoticed. Knowing he may have made the older teen feel uncomfortable he rubs the back of his head and apologises. "Um, sorry about that Sasuke"
Dwelling on the lack of warmth from Naruto's withdrawn embrace, Sasuke shakes his head upon hearing Narutos apology. "Hm? Oh no it's fine, I didn't mind."
Naruto is flooded with relief. He didn't want Sasuke to feel overwhelmed by him. "Okay, I'm glad, I didn't want to overstep y'know?"
Sasuke looks over at the blond and smiles with hooded glazy eyes, effects of their night taken clearly evident. "Don't worry, you didn't."
Naruto returns the smile, he feels honoured to be the one who receives such looks. Noticing the slightly stoney look in the ravens eyes Narutos curiosity peeks. "So, how's your first stoney experience?"
Sasuke runs a hand through his soft dark locks, taking a moment to think before answering. "It's honestly better than I thought, thanks for offering, and making me feel safe."
Narutos face softened before nodding "You're welcome." This wasn't what he expected to hear, he felt pride in knowing he made Sasuke feel safe.
"Hey Naruto? What was your first time like?" Sasuke asks, moderately curious.
Remembering his first time Naruto bitterly laughs. "Ah, my first time was interesting. First of all I was always one of those kids who ignored public service announcements, I knew from a young age that I wanted to try drugs no matter how dangerous they were, I guess I've always been kind of fucked up. I mean don't get me wrong I still have my own drug principle like I wont smoke crack or ever shoot up but I've done my fair share of drugs. The first drug I tried was weed, I was thirteen and Kiba took me to his girlfriend's house. She was a couple years older than us and her dad was a dealer, mainly prescription drugs and weed. Anyways, we were hanging out at her house when she called everyone to her father's bedroom, I had no idea at the time what was happening until a makeshift Gatorade bottle bong was being passed around. I was honestly shitting myself but was extremely excited as well, I felt somewhat grown up you know? Anyways, no one knew I'd never smoked before so I was worried about looking like a dweeb. Somehow I'd managed to not choke at all which I was beyond relieved at. Once we were done, we hung out in the living room watching some movie I wasn't even paying attention to. I remember feeling let down at the fact that I wasn't feeling any different from the weed, I wanted to feel what the hype was all about and I was feeling rather let down. They had this orange lava lamp going and I remember just watching it bubble up, It was then that I knew I was feeling something because for some strange reason I had the hugest urge to bust out laughing from just watching this fucking lava lamp. It took everything in me not to laugh and look like a fool in front of everybody. Anyways, Kibas girlfriend's dad came home with pizza but was super pissed his daughter got into his stash, he ended up kicking over the coffee table and kicking one of the teens across the couch. After he kicked the teen he immediately calmed down and sat and ate pizza with everyone. Overall it was pretty fucking bizarre."
Sasuke's gaze doesn't immediately give anything away until Naruto hears him burst out into a full blown laugh causing Narutos heart to fill with warmth. "Oh my god! Bizarre Naruto? I don't think that even begins to cover it, holy hell." Sasuke mutters between laughs.
The fire has died, all that remains is the faint glow of the remaining embers. The two teens are currently laying in the cleaning on their sleeping bags looking at the sky. Naruto was excited to share start gazing with the raven, still a little shocked that he's never done it once in his sixteen years of life.
Sasuke hums in approval, "you were right, this is peaceful."
Relaxing, Naruto folds his arms behind his head. "See? I told you."
Sasuke was still thinking about Naruto's hilarious introduction to drugs but frowns slightly when he realises that it happened with Kiba. He knows he shouldn't ask, but with the effects of the drugs causing his inhibitions to waver he finds himself asking anyway. "Hey Naruto? What happened between you and Kiba?"
Nothing but the sound of wind rustling through tree leaves and a rushing river could be heard for what seemed like an eternity until the blond finally spoke up. "Why do you keep asking me personal questions Sasuke?"
Sasuke pauses for a moment before quietly mumbling, "I, I don't know. I just feel like I want to know you better." He knew that Naruto was going to get defensive, and he knew he had no right to any answers, but he wanted to know. He wanted to help shift the burned from this precious blond.
Averting his eyes from the starry expanse Naruto turns his head to observe Sasuke. The gaze he was met with was nothing but soft, warm and honest. "Well, let me ask you this first, do you believe them?"
"No." Sasuke says without a hint of hesitation. He knew he believed Naruto, he had zero doubts, he just wanted to hear the story from Narutos mouth.
Observing yet again, he sees nothing but honesty in the raven's eyes. He's not sure he's ready to talk about this, hell, no one's ever asked to hear his side of the story. Even Shikamaru and Choji didn't, they just instinctively knew that Naruto could never do something so heinous.
Naruto lets out a shaky breath before submitting to the Sasukes intrusive question. "Kiba claimed he fell in love with me. He'd been my best friend for years and I told him I'd never see him as anything else. Last year after our opening game Kiba threw a party where he kept feeding me drinks. I don't really remember anything, but when I woke up the next day Kiba and I were naked in his bed together. I was...sore...and sticky... Kiba woke up after feeling me sit and I obviously freaked out at him. He told me that he did what he had to to make me love him the same way. I freaked out some more, got dressed and got the fuck out of there. I felt so betrayed, so...dirty, how could my best friend do that you know? I didn't know what to do, even after he did what he did, I chose to ignore him, I figured it was my punishment for not being able to return his feelings." The reality of saying it all out loud, on today of all days was too much, the flood gates opened for the second time today as Naruto let out a soul crushing sob.
The sound of the blond's deep voice cracking and crumbling was too much, it crushed Sasuke. The terrified, hopeless look on Narutos tear streaked, moonlit face was unbearable, Sasuke couldn't believe Kiba could be so wicked. The thought made Sasukes stomach churn in disgust. All he wanted to do was comfort the blond, how could he think he deserved that? Before Sasuke could register what he was doing he was up and bringing the blond into a tight safe embrace. Naruto froze, shock of the sudden safety enveloping him was such an alien concept that he momentarily panicked before melting into Sasukes firm warm chest. For the first time ever, he felt safe and comforted.
Resting his chin on top of Narutos head while running his hand through the soft golden locks he'd been longing to feel, he does his best to soothe the sobbing blond. "Naruto, I'm so sorry that happened to you, you didn't deserve that, no does. Thank you for sharing that with me, I know it can't be easy, but I'm here for you." He knew he couldn't offer much, but he needed the blond to kno0w that he was here for him, it hurt Sasuke so much to see the younger teen so broken.
As his sobs begin to calm down, Naruto sniffles, "Thanks Sasuke."
Sasuke shakes his head in bewilderment. "You don't ever need to thank me for that."
Calming down now, and feeling safe, Naruto takes it upon himself to finish the story about Kibas reign of torment. "Anyways, after that happened, like I told you, I just sort of ignored him and kept quiet. I had this friend Yahiko, we would both use each other as a sort of stress reliever. The stress of his family, mixed with me wanting to forget Kibas...touch, led the two of us to the bathroom at school. I guess I had forgotten to lock the door. God, I didn't even hear Kiba come in. I knew nothing until the end of the day. The whole grade had pretty much seen the video Kiba had taken. He even edited it to make it sound like he was telling me to stop, but where he cut it was where Yahiko told me to stop teasing him." The statement causes both teens to blush.
Sasuke stays quiet, not wanting to interrupt Naruto, as horrid as the situation was, he felt honoured that the blond was trusting him with this. Naruto took a deep calming breath before continuing. "As if your whole grade seeing you in the act isn't bad enough, I was being called a rapist. Yahiko came to my work this week trying to beg for forgiveness. Kiba used his in fluence to drive him away by threatening to tell his homophobic family he was gay. Not once did he even try to defend me against anybody, he just ignored everybody and let me take the blame! My year was already shitty, I survived this fucking massacre that shouldn't have happened, only to be thrown into this bull shit!"
Quiet sobs could be heard again, Naruto was shaking with anger, betrayal and sorrow. Sasuke ran his fingers through the blonds hair trying to calm him down. "Shh, it's alright, I'm here. Do you want to talk about the massacre?"
As painful as speaking about everything was, Naruto felt a sense of relief he's not use to, Maybe that's why he nodded at Sasukes offer and continued. "I know you've heard a big chunk of everything, but what you won't get in the articles is the truth."
"The truth?" Sasuke softly inquires, not wanting to make the blond feel trapped and more vulnerable than he must already feel.
Naruto softly nods. "The truth. I was supposed to be the only one who dies."
Sasuke lifts his head, furrowing his brows looking down at the trembling teen. "What do you mean?"
Naruto breathes deeply trying to calm his quivering body. "My dad is a detective. He was getting too close to a nasty underground gang. They found out I was his son and were going to use me to get back at him. I had a job interview the day of the competition and because I missed the bus I was late. They tried to get everyone to sell me out, but I wasn't there. By the time I got there the only person left alive was Konohamaru, they were toying with him. When they finally saw me they made me go stand with him. I remember how scared he was, I begged them to let him go, but wouldn't. I saw them aim to shoot him and I jumped in front of him trying to block the bullets, but I wasn't fast enough, they hit him through the right eye, and hit me three times through the back. I don't remember feeling physical pain, I remember the feeling of warmth trickling down, and holding Konohamaru, then there were more shots, I guess the cops had finally arrived and breached the building at the same time we were fired upon. I just remember holding Konohamaru Then waking up in the hospital. If I had just been on time everyone else would still be alive."
Sasuke gently lifts Naruto's chin so he looks him in the eye. "Naruto, none of that is your fault. If anything it was your fathers work that dragged everybody into danger. Even if you were there, who's to say they wouldn't have killed everybody regardless? You have to be one of the strongest people I have ever met, Naruto Uzumaki, please don't burden yourself with displaced blame. Thank you so much for trusting me enough to share this with me"
Naruto meets Sasuke soft, honest gaze, Tears still cascading down his face, his lower lip quivering from both the pain he's sharing and the tenderness he's being shown. Feeling so vulnerable and confused he whispers, "What are you doing to me?"
Sasuke didn't have to ask, he knew exactly what Naruto meant. Gently rubbing his thumb over his soft warm cheeks, wiping away the traves of tears he whispers, "the same thing you're doing to me."
Locking his eyes with Narutos, both teens become entranced, moonlight reflecting and fragmenting between ocean and galaxy orbs pulling the two together like a moth to a flame. Sasukes eye flicker back and forth between Narutos stunning cobalt sapphires and his perfect plush pink lips, slowly closing the gap between them, Sasuke gently captures Naruto soft plump lips in a gentle kiss. Not feeling Naruto kiss back he begins panicking, but that's quickly replaced with relief when Naruto grasps the sides of his face deepening the kiss. The two teens move their lips with excitement, and eagerness, feeling and tasting each other. All other touches can't compare to the sensation that is surging through them now.
As the kiss intensifies Sasuke tilts his head giving Naruto better access. Naruto nibbles gently on the raven's lower lips causing him to let out a rather pleasing whimper. Gently sucking on the abused pouty pink lip, Naruto takes it upon himself to run his tongue along it asking for entrance. Sasuke immediately submits allowing Naruto access to taste his very essence. Naruto groans in approval, sending shocks through Sasukes body. Their tongues gently flicked at each other, taking the time to get to know one another before the playful twirling began.
Sasuke found the new sensation of hard, warm metal balls gliding around his mouth and along his tongue so fucking amazing. It was more than he could have ever imagined. Feeling the blond's tongue map out his mouth, while tasting the mixture of weed, smores and Narutos very own taste made Sasukes head swirl. He found his hand trailing down and grasping the blond's hips in an effort to somehow get even closer. Naruto began to suck on his tongue, gently nibbling on it causing him to release a string of throaty moans which Naruto gladly devoured. Naruto smirks into the kiss, rather pleased at the sound he was causing Sasuke to make.
Releasing the raven's abused tongue he feels Sasuke bite on his own plush kiss swollen lips causing him to groan in approval. Sasuke has already become his favourite taste. Releasing Narutos lips, Sasuke dives his tongue back into Narutos mouth wanting to play with those addicting warm balls the erotically glide and bounce off his tongue. Both teen breath heavily through their nose trying to keep the earth shattering kiss going as long as they can but at last they need more oxygen than their nostrils can provide.
Breaking the kiss both teens are panting heavily, Sasuke rests his forehead against his blonds forehead, both smiling like fools. "I like you." he softly admits.
While still panting Narutos returns the smile, he notes how Sasukes flawless ivory skin seemingly glows in the moonlight. As his cerulean eyes lock with Sasukes onyx eyes he whispers, "I like you too."
