Chapter 7
The Answer
Mitchie burst into tears, but Shane couldn't tell if she was happy or sad because she had her face in her hands. He put a hand on his knee and said, "Mitchie… are you okay?" he asked calmly. She looked up and Shane saw a huge smile on her face, with tears still racing down her face. "YES!" she yelled happily. Shane was about to cry too, he was the happiest guy on earth at that moment. He slid the engagement ring on her finger and smiled at her. Mitchie laughed/cried and jumped on him. The hug she gave him made him have the urge of kissing her. He did. It didn't last very long, because they were both smiling too much. Mitchie almost couldn't paddle back because she was shaking too much. But once they got back, Shane helped her out of the boat and put his arms completely around her hips. She did the same and looked into his beautiful, big brown eyes. She reached up and kissed him passionately. "I love you so much Shane. I can't wait!" she said with her knees almost giving out. Mitchie was extremely exited that she was going to marry Shane Grey; the most amazing boyfriend- I mean fiancé ever!
He kissed her again, and this time, her knees did give out, but Shane caught her and picked her up. He carried her to her cabin and put her down on the doorstep. They sat on the steps and cuddled there for a while, randomly kissing each other and saying 'I love you' about a million times. Shane looked at his watch. He turned to Mitchie. "Well… it's about 11:00… I should go…" he said not willing to leave. Mitchie put on a puppy dog face and asked, "Can't you stay longer?" They both grinned and Shane kissed her passionately. "Good-night Mitchie." He said romantically. Mitchie looked into her fiancé's face and said, "Night pop star." The soon-to-be-married couple laughed and kissed again. Once Shane left, Mitchie went into her cabin. Once she closed the door, she leaned against it, grinning bigger than ever.
"OH MY GOSH TELL ME EVERYTHING!" a voice came out of the darkness. Caitlyn turned on the lights and shook Mitchie's shoulders. All Mitchie did was smile, and Caitlyn knew what happened. "OH MY GOD!!" Caitlyn started happy dancing up and down. Mitchie joined in dancing. After a while, they both got extremely tired, and sat on their beds. "So tell me everything! Every detail!" Caitlyn demanded. Mitchie retold the story of how Shane gave her the candle-light dinner and the canoe ride. Caitlyn yelped of joy quite a few times but Mitchie kept going on about the proposal. "It was the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me!" she said dreamily. The two best friends hugged each other.
With Connect 3:
"DUDE! HOW DID IT GO!?" Jason screamed.
Shane did the same that Mitchie did; just smiled. Nate knew exactly what that meant, while Jason… not so much. Nate slapped Shane on the back congratulating him. Then, Jason finally got it. "Group hug!" he said as he pulled Nate and Shane into a hug similar to when they were at Camp Rock four years ago.
After that little shindig, Nate, Jason, and Shane went to bed. Shane lay in his bed thinking about Mitchie. It was midnight. He looked to his left…
Mitchie was lying in her bed thinking about Shane. The clock struck midnight. She looked to her right…
The next morning, everyone got up early and went to breakfast. Shane and Mitchie sat next to each other (holding hands underneath the table); Caitlyn next to Nate, and Jason on sat on the bench next to them. "So what do we have planned today?" asked Mitchie. "Well, you and I are going to teach voice and guitar. Nate and Jason are teaching dance, and Caitlyn is teaching how to produce music." Shane replied. Mitchie's face light up, this has been her dream since she left camp rock; to teach here. Shane squeezed her hand a bit. She was so caught up thinking about Shane and the proposal he had made the night before. It was so much like a fairytale… did it really happen? During their last class of the day, when the students were talking, she whispered to Shane, "Did you ask me to marry you last night?" Shane looked confused, but understood after a while. He took her hand, "Yes." He whispered so only she could hear. They both laughed.
Soon enough, the last class ended. All the campers left and Mitchie and Shane were left to clean up. They both put the chairs in stacks and the music stands in the corners. Once they were done, Mitchie gave a large sigh. Shane gave her a flirtatious grin. Mitchie took the signal and she walked over to him. They both walked hand in hand to Connect 3's cabin.
Right when Shane closed the door behind them, he immediately swung around and started making- out with his fiancé. This wasn't the making-out like thing when you are in a romantic scene, but this was better than that. It was fast and deep. Shane, still kissing Mitchie, led her over to the bed. They lay down; Mitchie underneath Shane. They both pulled back at the same time. Shane looked into Mitchie's big brown eyes. She half-smiled at him, and put her hand on his chest. Shane didn't say anything, but went back to the make-out session they were previously doing. They stayed that way for who knows how long; a few minutes… an hour… maybe 5… Then Mitchie took his hand that was on her lower waist. He broke away. "What is it?" he asked, with his lips still on hers and his eyes still closed. "Nate and- Jason- should- be here- now." She responded in between tempting kisses that Shane was giving her. But Shane didn't seem to care. He moved down to her neck. "Their classes should be over now…" Mitchie said, not really concentrating on what she was saying.
Shane stopped for a moment looked at her again. "We'll stop when they get here." He whined. They both cocked their heads toward the window. "Well what'd you know?" Shane said as he saw his band members walking toward the cabin.
Shane and Mitchie jumped up from the bed and ran into the bathroom. They checked themselves in the mirror. Mitchie's hair was a mess, and Shane had some lipstick smeared on the side of his upper lip. He washed it off and Mitchie combed her hair quickly. They both ran to Shane's bed and pretended to be talking.
"Then it attacked me!" Mitchie started as Jason and Nate came in the room.
"The fish attacked you?!" Shane said laughing.
"Yeah I know it was- oh hi guys."
"Hey you two." Jason greeted.
But Nate wasn't stupid. "Wow you guys! How dumb do you think we are?" he asked. Shane and Mitchie pretended to be offended. "I'm not kidding the fish attacked me!" Mitchie said laughing. Nate and Shane laughed too. "Yeah right! I think you and Shane were doing something more than talking in here!" Nate protested. Nate and Jason made wolf-whistling noises and the engaged couple gave in. Connect 3 was not stupid.
