Chapter 12

Chapter 12

"Please don't make me do anything more…" Shane said helplessly.

The cold and dark voice on the other line laughed. "Tell her to come back to me."

"You know this is b-black mail! And she never loved you!!" he yelled into the phone. Again, the voice laughed.

"Now, Shane, you wouldn't want poor Mitchie to get hurt now would we?"

"Okay!! I promise… I'll make sure of it…"

"Good." Then the line went dead. Shane dropped his cell phone to the ground. He started vomiting again. He was definitely going to die without her.

"Oh no… oh god… no please…" Shane muttered.

Mitchie's point of view

She ran to the bathroom from the bedroom. The door was closed, but she heard Shane talking to someone on the inside. She tried to hold back the vomit that was about to appear. It lasted.

"Y-You know this is b-black mail!" Shane yelled. No one responded, so Mitchie guessed he was on the phone.

Blackmail? Mitchie thought. Now that she thought about it, Shane looked like he would die at any moment when he ditched her. And that thought exactly brought the vomit back; and it wasn't because of the pregnancy.

Now Shane was muttering things like 'oh no' and 'oh god' and 'no please'. But she didn't care. Mitchie burst into the bathroom and ran to the toilet.

Shane looked up from the floor that he was lying on. When she came up for air, she gagged and saw Shane on the ground. She had slammed the door on her way in so they were alone again. It looked like he had fallen and couldn't get up. That's how Mitchie felt too.

Then, she finished puking, and sat back against the sink cabinet. They sat there in silence for over an hour. But Mitchie broke it. "Why?" she asked quietly; she wasn't even sure he heard her. He turned over onto his back.

Mitchie took a risk and chanced a glance at him. His eyes looked like they were swollen into his face, he was sweating like mad, and his face had no expression whatsoever. And Mitchie was pretty sure that was what she looked like too.

Shane's point of view

Shane pretended not to hear her one-word question. She was sitting right next to him, and everything was always okay when Mitchie was there. But not now. Hell had broken lose and was attacking Shane everywhere. Every part of his body felt like it was stabbed through his whole character. He couldn't move.

He tried to get it over with, and tell Mitchie what the voice had wanted him to say, but he couldn't get the words processed. It took him thirty minutes just to get his thoughts straight.

"I-I n-never w-wanna s-see y-you a-again… M-Mitchie! G-Go b-b-back to T-Troy!" he stuttered on every word in the two sentences. But on the last word, his voice cracked. He could barely survive thinking about what he was being forced to do.

Mitchie's point of view

Shane had just yelled at her to go back to Troy. Who the hell was Troy? There was only one Troy she ever knew and he was- oh no.

Troy Copley. He had been obsessed with Mitchie Torres since the third grade, and he swore he would get Mitchie eventually. He was the only person in the whole world who was on good terms with her. Too bad she hated him.

"Why in the world would I ever go to Troy? All he did was make my life more miserable than it already was." She squeaked. "What about the baby Shane? Our baby!?" Mitchie cried in a high-pitched voice.

Her right hand had flung to her now-medium-large stomach. Shane started to sob again. While Mitchie had been sobbing all along.

Then, his phone rang. He slowly tried to reach it, but Mitchie snatched it up before he got it. "Mitchie! Don't-" Shane yelled. But Mitchie had already picked it up.

"Hello?" she said in a hurt voice. No respond on the other line. "Who is this? I know you're there."

"Hello my darling." A cold and deep voice responded. She recognized it immediately.

"Did you tell him to do it Troy? Don't bother trying to lie." Mitchie's voice had a bit of confidence underneath the anger.

"He just wanted you to be safe, sweetie." His words made Mitchie's stomach lurch.

"Don't call me that! What do you want with me!?"

"I want you, Mitch."

"Don't call me that either! You'll never have me!"

"You'll change your mind baby."

"STOP IT! I HATE YOU AND FOR THE ONLY AND LAST TIME, NEVER CALL HERE AGAIN! OR ANYWHERE NEAR HERE!"

And with that, she pushed the end button. She didn't care if she broke it, but she through the cell phone at the wall. It seemed to be going in slow motion; it hit the wall with a thud, and bounced to the floor.

"Y-You shouldn't of d-done that baby…" Shane said, in a delusional state. It felt so good to hear him call her 'baby'. "Now he'll c-come for y-you…"

"I don't care." Mitchie said, tears falling from her eyes. Shane crawled over to her, but didn't have the strength to hug her.

Shane's point of view

He didn't have enough strength to hug her, but the pain wasn't as bad as it was before. He was about to pass out, and he was sure Mitchie could tell. This was just like a nightmare, but worse. His body shuttered.

Mitchie put his head in her lap and let him fall asleep there. His eyes closed almost instantly. But Mitchie wasn't feeling too good herself.

After 20 minutes, Mitchie was also asleep.

General Point of View

Shane awoke to a loud scream. He was still tired, and didn't open his eyes. His head was spinning, and he passed out again.
