Chapter 17
Lovely little Lady
"Harmony" Shane said. It seemed that Mitchie and Shane had the same thought at the same time. They looked at each other and smiled. Shane leaned down and kissed her, hard.
He was so relieved at what happened. She kept her promise.
They both unwillingly pulled away from each other and looked at new baby Harmony. She had big brown eyes just like her dad, and her face was an exact copy of Mitchie's. Harmony smiled at her parents and giggled.
Then a doctor came through the door. "Mr. and Mrs. Grey, some people have been literally dying to see you." She said as she let Nate, Jason, Caitlyn, and Mitchie's parents came through the door. They all stopped at the end of the hospital bed and smiled hugely. Mr. and Mrs. Torres came over first. The sweaty and tired Mitchie handed Harmony over to her grandparents. Connie was crying, and Steve was cooing over his granddaughter. After ten minutes of that, Caitlyn, Nate, and Jason came next.
Caitlyn got to hold her first. "Do you wanna be the Godmother?" Shane asked her. Caitlyn looked up through joyful teared eyes and nodded franticly.
Then Nate got to hold her. Shane and Mitchie looked at each other, again thinking the same thought. "Nate? Do you wanna be the Godfather?" Surprisingly, a tear fell from Nate's eyes as he accepted quietly, but joyfully.
"Then what am I?" asked Jason. Everyone laughed.
"The second godfather!" Mitchie exclaimed.
Now everything was okay. No more problems. Harmony was here and- oh no. The dream. She totally forgot about it, until now.
It was just a dream Mitchie… Just a dream… she tried to convince herself.
Unfortunately, Shane saw and understood the look on her face. He pressed his lips against hers.
They slowly pulled apart and smiled. Harmony wiggled in Mitchie's arms, so Shane took his daughter in his arms. He looked down at her. He was crying, but had a smile on his face. Harmony was the best daughter he would ever ask for. But now that she was here, what would happen with Troy?
Later on, they were just about to leave the hospital with new baby Harmony when Mr. and Mrs. Torres decided they would stay with them for a week. Mitchie and Shane were happy to have the help and company though.
Mitchie was between thinking about her dream and how happy she was to finally have Harmony… and surviving.
When they got home, Mitchie and Shane went up to the Harmony's new room to put her to sleep. It was surprising, and they thought it would be much harder, but Harmony went right to sleep, without crying. She was just so… perfect.
Mitchie and Shane left her to sleep and they climbed into their own bed. They got under the covers and smiled at each other. Mitchie's face got brighter and brighter every second.
"What?" Shane asked, loving Mitchie's smile.
"I'm not fat anymore!" she squealed. Shane laughed hard and hugged her tight. They fell asleep in each other's arms, Harmony never crying once.
Mitchie woke up in Shane's arms and saw the alarm clock. Six in the morning. She wiggled her way out of his reach and went to Harmony's crib. She was stirring, but didn't make a noise. Once Mitchie came into sight of her daughter, Harmony laughed and smiled. She reached up, signaling for her mother to pick her up. Her wish was granted, and Mitchie was happy to finally have her daughter here. She walked downstairs with her and got Harmony a bottle of warm milk.
They sat on the counter of the kitchen while Harmony was eating. Mitchie couldn't help but smile to herself.
"She's such a lovely little lady isn't she?" a voice said from the stairs. Mitchie looked up to see Nate leaning against the wall, smiling at them. He walked over to Mitchie and sat next to her on the counter.
Mitchie grinned at him, for she knew what he was thinking. He smiled back.
She could see the happiness in him; his best friend was still alive. Mitchie handed Harmony over to Nate to hold, and Nate happily took her.
"So Uncle Nate, do you like being an uncle?" Mitchie asked playfully.
"Ecstatically" he responded, smiling down at his niece who was playing with his curly hair. She seemed to have a great liking to her new uncle, who was intrigued by her. Mitchie and Nate half hugged, because Harmony was in the middle of them.
"You did well, Mitch! She's gonna look so hot when she's older!" Nate put in. Mitchie gave him a funny look.
"Ew, Nate! I think I should tell Cait about this!" she teased. He laughed and gave Harmony back to Mitchie.
"I'm going back to sleep… unless you need help with anything?" he asked, heading for the door. Mitchie shook her head and grinned. She was so lucky.
Shane sat on the floor of the living room playing with Harmony when the phone started ringing. Mitchie yelled to the house, "I got it!"
Shane heard her cheerfully say 'hello' and then fall silent. There was a long pause, and then she said quietly (luckily Shane could still hear her), "No! I- please… I can't just-" she said in a hushed tone. Another silence
"Fine…" Mitchie said; Shane couldn't tell if she was crying or not, because he couldn't see her. So he picked Harmony up and walked into the kitchen. He saw Mitchie with her head on the counter, covered by her arms.

Omjj! What's gonna happen? I think you know who was on the phone. What do you think Mitchie has to do?
