[WIP] Gen fic, no slash: Shortly after coming to Camelot, physician's apprentice Merlin learns that Prince Arthur is suffering from a mysterious ailment nobody is willing to talk about. The Prince keeps to his chambers and is in danger of losing his status as heir apparent to the throne. When Merlin finally comes face to face with him, the Prince and he do not exactly hit it off.

Merlin saves Lancelot's soul from the shade by inadvertently bringing it into his own body. Now he has his best friend back, if only in his shared mind space. But one body isn't meant to house two souls, and Merlin's growing sicker.

Arthur is six years old and has a nanny whom he would very much like to befriend. Gaius is getting used to his new situation after renouncing magic, but the word "traitor" regularly appearing on his door does not help. A black dog prowls around Camelot, where the smoke from the stakes can still be smelled, heralding death to anyone who sees it.

After six years of banishment arthur finally finds him again, but things have changed and he is still not sure he is ready to face the man that betrayed him the most... better summary inside, and a description of my Merthur Au. if you read it, i hope you enjoy.
