Ten year old Lana is walking home from school. She can't wait to see her mom and little sister Nadia. Lana loved her life, her friends, and her school. She felt so independent walking home from school all by herself even though it was only a block. The only thing she misses is her dad but she can survive without him. Lana loves her name even though it's not her birth name but she likes her new name better, Svetlana Anyanka Derevko.

Her birth name is Sydney Anne Bristow but that changed when she was six. Lana's mom is a KGB agent and was sent to the U.S. to marry and steel secrets from Lana's father, Jack Bristow. But when Lana was six the F.B.I. started to figure out what she was up to so she had to be extracted. But Irina Derevko also known as Laura Bristow, Lana's mom couldn't stand abandoning her daughter so she took Lana with her. Irina explained to Lana that they were going to a new and exciting place but that Jack couldn't come with. When they got to Russia Irina explained to Lana the basics of what she had been doing. Lana didn't care; she said she loved her mom no matter what. It was then that Irina asked Lana if she would mind changing her name to something more Russian. Lana didn't mind so together they decided to change her name from Sydney Anne Bristow to Svetlana Anyanka Derevko. Lana liked and thought it sounded cool. A little while after they arrived Irina's sister Katya met up with them and Irina introduced her to Lana as her Aunt Katya. Lana was so excited to find out her mom had a sister and to meet her aunt. After a little while of catching up Katya offered to take Lana out and show her all the fun stuff in Moscow since they were currently in KGB building that probably seemed very boring to a six year old. Irina was glad her sister was distracting Lana and taking care of her since she knew she'd have to undergo an extensive debriefing that would take a while. Lana didn't see her mom for the next few months which Katya explained by saying that Irina had to tell some very important people about her time in the U.S. A couple years later Lana learned that Irina had been held in a Kashmir prison under suspicion of treason but was eventually cleared. Lana saw her mom again three months after they arrived in Kashmir and she had a surprise for Lana, she was going to have a little sister or brother in the four months. Lana had learned Russian quickly and now spoke it fluently which impressed Irina a lot. Lana had made lots of friends and had gotten accustomed to Russia very nicely. She had also gotten to know her Aunt Katya quite well and they got along splendidly. When Irina came back Lana was so excited to see her mom. They spent the next few having a lot of fun together in Irina's home country and waiting for the baby to arrive. On May 20th 1982 Lana's little sister was born. Irina named her Nadehzda Alexandra Derevko. Lana loved Nadia so much and both of them got along wonderfully. But there was something that only Irina, Katya, Lana, and Nadia when she was older knew. When Nadia was born Irina Had also got her an American birth certificate since she was an American citizen because of her father which stated her name as Nadia Alexa Bristow.

Lana loved her three year old sister a ton. She also love her mom and her aunt a ton. Even though her mom had married her dad with ulterior motives she know there was know deception behind her birth, her mom has always wanted her and loves her like no tomorrow just like Nadia. Though some might think it's weird Lana likes Russia better. Her mom was home as much as she could be unless she was on an assignment then Katya would take care of them even though she was also an agent; which is very different than when they were in the U.S. when her dad was never around because he was always away on "business trips."
