Know Your Stars Foster's Style The real final chapter, fifteen years later

The studio was completely empty, with only a spotlight to illuminate the stage that so many imaginary friends and people had gone up on to be annoyed, humiliated, or have some kind of pain inflicted on them. All of a sudden, a door opened and both Mac and Bloo walked in. Much to their relief, the voice that had annoyed the living crap out of them and everyone else was silent. That did leave them to ask themselves a question.

"So, why are we back here again?" Bloo asked his best friend.

"It's the author, apparently he thought the last two chapters got too crazy and he wants a redo." Mac replied.

"Yeah, that was super annoying. I mean, it was supposed to be all about us, then all these other guys started coming in and taking all the attention away." Said Bloo.

"Well, at least we can wrap this up with just you and me. Hopefully we won't see anybody from the other shows, especially not Beavis and Butthead." Mac reassured his imaginary friend. Sadly he was proven wrong not two seconds later.

"Uh huh huh huh! Uh huh huh huh!" a voice laughed out of nowhere.

"Hehehehehehehehe!" another voice joined in shortly afterwards.

Both Mac and Bloo groaned as Beavis and Butthead walked in to join them on the stage.
"Oh, come on! Why are you guys here?" Mac asked sounding very annoyed.

"Uh, that author dude asked us to come back." Replied Butthead.

"Can we not just finish this Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends story with just people from Fosters?!" Bloo melodramatically shouted, falling to his nonexistent kneesfor a brief second.

"No way man, us showing up made the story cool! Hehehe." said Beavis.

"Yeah, it's like, it was cool when it was just us, then they started throwing in all these other fartknockers. Like McDicker and Stewart, they sucked. Huh huh huh!" Chortled Butthead.

"Especially Diarrhea, she sucked the most. Hehehehehe, stupid Diarrhea!" Chuckled Beavis.

"Gee Beavis, why don't you tell me how you really feel?" a third, very sarcastic voice made itself known.

All four boys turned their heads to the left side of the room to find the source of the voice. Daria Morgendorffer, now wearing the outfit from her eponymous show, was leaning against a wall, looking completely bored.

"When did you get here?" Asked Mac.

"A few minutes ago. Though honestly, I question why I came in the first place. After all, last time my appearance consisted of being mostly written out of character, given grief for caring about Stewart and getting shot in the head by a spring-legged pirate." Daria responded in her usual sarcasm filled voice.

Both Mac and Bloo winced recalling what happened to her in the original finale with Bloo even saying "Yikes." Everyone was quiet for the next few minutes before Mac tried breaking the ice.

"So, uh... man a lot has happened since the original finale, huh guys? I mean me and Bloo, our show finished up just a few years after this story originally ended and I think we ended on a high note" Mac said, hoping it would change everyone's mood.

"Yeah like, our show came back, but then those bungholes from MTV cancelled us again! That sucked! Beavis angrily said while waving his arms up and down, only to get smacked in the face multiple times by Butthead.

"They brought us back again last year, dumbass!" Butthead said to his angry friend.

"Oh yeah. Hehehe!" Beavis calmed down almost immediately.

The conversation actually seemed to get Daria in a slightly better mood. "Well," she began, joining the conversation. "My show actually got a full DVD release after people doubted it would happen. I mean sure we had to cut most of the liscensed music, but at least more people can watch it now.

Bloo, for his part, crossed his arms and smiled. "Yeah, guess we all had it made after this thing ended."

"I'm pretty sure you're not saying that right." said Mac.

"Don't care, so don't care." Bloo replied in an almost sing-song voice while moving his arms behind his head.

A few more quiet seconds passed before Daria stood up straight and spoke to the others. "Well guys, I'd say it was fun, but I'd be lying. Now, back to all my usual problems in Lawndale." She said simply, walking to the door. Before she opened it, she heard Mac call out to her.

"Um, hey Daria! Sorry things got so bad last time." He said, trying one last time to raise her spirits.

Daria, for her part simply looked back and said, "For whatever that's worth, thanks." Before she walked out the door, Mac could have sworn he saw Daria briefly smile.

Not long after Daria left Butthead spoke up. "This is boring, let's get outta here Beavis. Uh huh huh huh."

"Um, okay. See you guys later, hehehehe." Beavis replied. And so, the dumb-namic duo walked out the door, laughing their usual laughs.

Mac turned his attention over to Bloo and they both looked out into the darkness beyond the stage.
"So, anything else we need to add?" asked Bloo.

"Nah. The other guys are gone and it's back to just us." replied Mac.

"Okay, so can we go home now?" Bloo asked again, sounding a bit annoyed.

"Well, I don't see anyone else coming in and a pirate ship hasn't crashed through the ceiling like last time. So yeah, let's go back to Fosters." said Mac.

With that, Mac and Bloo turned their attention to the audience reading this thing.

"Well folks, here's the new finale to this story. Might have taken oh fifteen years to come up with, but hey it's better than the cluster crap we had last time. Bloo said, crossing his arms again.

"Good night, everybody." said Mac, waving to all the readers. Immediately afterwards the longtime friends walked to the same door they entered through, Mac making sure to hit the light switch on the way out before shutting the door behind them.

The End (For real this time)

Author's notes: A small part of me had been meaning to redo the final chapter for ages, but I kept putting it off for one reason or another. Still, as they say, better late than never. For the longest time, I thought about deleting this story, but I've opted not to. Not because it's incredibly well written mind you, I mean everything about it screams I wrote this when I was in high school. Still, I have a lot of fond memories about writing it, reading the reviews, and I have quite a bit of nostalgia for it. To anyone reading it for the first time, I hope it makes you laugh for one reason or another.
To any of the over a hundred people who reviewed it, thanks a lot.
To all of you in general, thank you and good night.
