Chapter 10; A New Dawn
(1 Week Later)
Ryder: (On a video call with Mayor Goodway talking about the town's next basketball game)
Mayor Goodway: So, are you guys up for playing in the Adventure City tournament? There are teams from all over competing, and we don't have a team to represent Adventure Bay.
Ryder: That sounds great. We may need to bring some other players if it's a tournament though.
Mayor Goodway: That is just fine! I will have to double-check, but I think the maximum amount of players per team is 12.
Ryder: That should be more than enough.
Mayor Goodway: Is Marshall going to be good to go for the tournament? He's our best post.
Ryder: He should be good to go by then. His appointment is today at one so.
Mayor Goodway: Well, you may want to get going then.
Ryder: Huh? (Looks at the clock) Oh! Dang, time really does fly. Gotta go. Just send me the details as it gets closer.
Mayor Goodway: Sure thing! Bye!
(Video shuts off)
(Ryder leaves his room and goes into the middle of the lookout)
Ryder: I only have 10 minutes, and I have to get Marshall ready too. Speaking of, where is he?
(Rubble comes down the elevator)
Ryder: Hey, Rubble, is Marshall up there?
Rubble: Yeah! I think he's playing "Go Fetch" with them.
Ryder: Don't you mean "Go Fish?"
Rubble: Yeah, but that's what they started calling it after Zuma accidentally said it.
Ryder: Okay. Thanks!
(Ryder heads up to the top of the lookout)
(He sees Chase, Rocky, Zuma, and Skye playing "Go Fetch")
Zuma: Rocky, do you have any fouws?
Rocky: Go Fetch!
Zuma: Dang it!
Ryder: Hey, pups, where's Marshall?
Chase: He's asleep over there. (Points at Marshall, who's asleep upside down in a bean bag chair)
Marshall: *grunts*
Skye: He's been dreaming the whole time. He almost got up and ran a minute ago.
Ryder: Huh, good thing he didn't hurt himself.
(Ryder walks over to Marshall and picks him up)
Ryder: Let's get you changed, and let's go.
