Harvest Moon Jamboree in the Wrath Circle.
Speeding down the highway in his new two-door 1970 Chevrolet C10 Pick-Up. Eric, Loona, and the kids had agreed to meet I.M.P. at Millie's parent's ranch they would be staying at during the festival.
"You two okay back there?"
Loona calls back to the two sitting in the flatbed of their dad's truck. Since Winter was the smallest. And, more likely to go flying from the back at the speed their dad was going to, likely, travel. Austin and Eliza had agreed to sit on the flatbed whilst Winter sat up front with their mom and dad.
"We're surviving, mom."
Eric couldn't help but chuckle at his son's response to Loona's question. He didn't think he was driving too badly to say the salvaged truck was his late twenty-sixth birthday present from Blitzo. The bike he owned was given to Eliza when he got the truck from his boss.
"Dad. What do Aunt Millie's parents do?"
"They own a ranch, sweetie."
Winter couldn't help but become giddy with excitement. She'd never been to a ranch before. Hell, the kids had never been to the Wrath Ring of Hell before. So, it was a nice change of pace to let the kids visit a place they'd never been.
Millie's Parents Ranch. Wrath Circle of Hell
Seeing the gate for the ranch and, spotting the van parked up. Eric, after making sure Austin and Eliza were holding on tight to the sides of the van, wheel spun onto the dirt road heading into the ranch entrance. The C10 came to a halt when Blitzo put his hand up to show Snow how far away he had drifted the truck to a halt.
Stepping out of the vehicle as we get a look at Snow wearing a black cowboy hat, and pitch-black aviators on his face while he stood in his brown cowboy boots, tight blue jeans, and button-up grey and red flannel over the black tank top he wore. Eric, Loona and the kids made their way over to the group from his truck. He made no effort when picking out the clothes he wanted to wear today. But, he had made an effort to make sure he could wear tight enough jeans that were breathable enough for him. Seeing how it hugged her boyfriend's ass when Loona got a real look. She blushed bright red. Leading to Austin having to close his mother's muzzle when the drool came out.
"Howdy folks! Do you guys have any chewing tobacco? Loona and I ran out of smokes whilst driving through the Lust Circle. And, your general stores kinda gave me Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes. So, I didn't fancy tangling with a maniac that wasn't my girl."
Eric says as he pats Loona on the ass when he stands with her and the kids whilst Millie greets her parents.
"Y'all remember my husband, Moxxie?"
The sight before him. Eric had to see with his eyes when Millie shoved Moxxie in front of her parents. The guy was couldn't look more nervous if he tried when he spoke.
"Greetings Lin, Joe. How have you been? What with all the flaming twisters?"
"We lost one of our farmhands to one of those terrors."
Eric couldn't help but wince and cringe for Moxxie when the gruff male, that was Millie's father, had reopened a can of worms for Millie's dad that had been bugging him.
"Oh… crumbs. I didn't mean to open that old wound… Sir."
"HEY! the only sir around here is me!"
Millie brightens up when Blitz made his presence known. Almost forgetting to introduce her boss. She rectifies that mistake by introducing the six she hadn't introduced.
"Oh, I almost forgot. This is my boss, Blitz and his hellhound."
How Millie introduced Blitz and Loona. It caused the two to pipe up from where they stood.
"I'm not just his hellhound."
"Yea. She's my daughter."
"Only on paper…"
She didn't look impressed with Blitz with the way he pulled her in for a side hug. After she was released. Loona pulled her phone out of her pocket when she muttered the next part.
"Y'all don't deserve to know my name."
Eric couldn't help but chuckle from his position beside Moxxie. Seeing Loona coming towards him while she was on her phone. In a rare case of the Hell, the hound shows affection in public. Loona nuzzles her head under Snow's chin when he holds her close.
While Loona was cuddled into Snow. The kids wandered over to the adults that were talking. Blitzo, after speaking with Millie's parents, shouts over at the two standing by the fence.
"GET YOUR GRUBBY MITTS OFF OF MY DAUGHTER IN PUBLIC!"
This earned the imp two respective middle fingers from the couple. The elder imps notice this and, the first question on Joe's mind was when he asked Millie.
"Mill. I don't think you introduced us to every one of your workmates."
Millie looks confused at first. That was until it clicked that she hadn't introduced everyone when she spotted Snow watching videos on Loona's phone since he had left his phone in the truck. While the kids came to stand by Millie.
"Oh… OH! Mom, Dad. This is Snow. He's the company's only hybrid of angel and demon. And, he's the one dating my boss's Hell hound. And, these are their kids."
Lin was the first to ask Winter directly.
"And who might you be sweetheart?"
Winter smiles warmly before answering.
"My name is Winter Snow, Mrs Lin. These two are my big brother, Austin. And my big sister, Eliza."
Lin couldn't help the smile on her face at being introduced to Winter's siblings. Stroking the tiny hound's soft snow-white hair. She says with a smile.
"Well, your momma and Poppa are very lucky to have a little cutie like you as a daughter, Winter."
Soon, it was Lin's turn to look at Austin. Causing her to say in surprise.
"My, my. You're a big fella ain't you? Austin, is it?"
Austin nods before answering Millie's mother.
"Yes ma'am. My name is Austin Snow. And, indeed, I am this little munchkin's big brother."
Joe couldn't help his next question.
"How old are you, Austin? You must be in your twenties at the height you stand at."
"I'm only fifteen, sir."
Lin and Joe's eyes almost bulged out of their head. He must have been making it up. Luckily, Millie confirmed what Austin had said.
"He is fifteen, mom, dad. He's just tall for his age."
Now it was Eliza's turn to introduce herself.
"I'm Eliza Snow, Mrs Lin. It's a pleasure to meet Aunt Millie's parents for the first time."
Joe couldn't believe the manners these kids showed their elders. Luckily, Snow walked over to introduce himself to Millie's parents.
"Sir, Ma'am. I see the kids have introduced themselves to you. It's a pleasure to finally meet my friend's mother and father. My name's Eric Snow. But, I prefer to be called by my last name of Snow."
Eric says genuinely when he shakes both their hands at different times. Once the introductions were out of the way. Joe speaks.
"You've raised some fine children, Snow. They're very well-mannered and respectful of their elders."
Blitzo wanted to interject and get his two cents in about that being a bare-faced lie that the kids behaved for their elders. Except, it was the moment Austin glared at his grandfather to keep his mouth shut. Joe hadn't caught the tall hound's glare towards the imp with his mouth tightly closed when he spoke to Snow.
"Well, Mister. You and your precious kids are always welcome on our ranch. If you need anything. Anything at all. You just ask me and Lin. And, we'll make sure to provide it."
"Much obliged sir, ma'am. I'll be sure to let you guys know."
This reminded Joe about Snow's earlier question. Handing a tin of tobacco chew over to the hybrid. Eric thanks Millie's dad for the chew. Taking a cube out of the tin. He is seen to be happy chewing the tobacco cube while walking over to his truck. Leaving the kids with Millie's parents as Lin asks.
"Hey, Winter. Do you want to come and feed the animals with me?"
Winter couldn't help the squeal of delight that left her. Before her sister and brother could stop her. She was off like a shot behind Lin towards the closest pen.
Two Minutes Later…
Loona, while watching Moxxie get his ass handed to him by a pig, notices Snow and Eliza under the truck with some tools in their hands. This causes the female to roll her eyes and, with a look, she whispers.
"My boyfriend and his daughter are car dorks."
Considering all she'd been through with Snow and the kids. Loona's life hadn't been too exciting up until the point she met Snow and Eliza.
"RUNAWAY PIGGY!"
Hearing the sound of her daughter calling. And, a pig escaping its pen while the calls of the many imp farmhands sounded. Loona and Austin spotted the boar running towards Snow, Eliza and his truck.
"DAD, LIZ! LOOK OUT!"
If Winter's shout didn't reach the two. Eric sensed the boar coming towards him. This results in Loona having never seen the hybrid move as fast to stop the boar from getting Eliza. One moment, Snow was under the truck. The next, he had his blade drawn and was at the other side of the boar on one knee.
"Is everyone OK?"
Lin asks in concern. Seeing the hybrid stand to his feet and dust himself off. He spits out the chew in his mouth before speaking.
"I'm OK, ma'am."
Lifting the heavy animal by the tail with blood dripping from its throat where Snow had cut it. He asks the farmhand that had run over to him.
"This one of yours, sir?"
Throwing it by the farm hand's feet. Eric pats the imp on the shoulder before going back to his truck. Closing the hood of the Chevy. Eric walks over to the imps while carrying some tools in his hands. One of them being the bowie knife that he kept on hand for emergencies.
Later That Night, Hoe Down
With the party in full swing. With the bonfire raging in the middle of the field while everyone laughed and made merry with each other. Farmhands and their children, Moxxie, and Millie. Hell, even Loona and the kids were having fun with the folks who worked on the farm.
Gracing the group with his presence. Eric was greeted by everyone with the tip of their hats to the hard-working male. Since they were all old enough to drink. Except for the three kids. it wasn't long before the whiskey and the moonshine was being passed around by the adults while everyone sat around the fire. Loona even snuck Austin some moonshine in a small glass for him to drink. Winter and Eliza were just content with roasting marshmallows on the open bonfire.
Given everything that was to come for Moxxie and Blitzo competing in the Harvest Moon Jamboree games tomorrow. Eric was just happy to be around his friends on Joe and Lin's farm tonight. Hell, Snow was just happy to be around good company in general.
His thoughts were interrupted when Joe shouted over to the male.
"SNOW! WE'RE ABOUT TO START THE SING-ALONG. WANT TO START US OFF?"
Eric couldn't help but chuckle. It was Millie's parent's tradition that, every hoe down before the jamboree, they would invite their guests to start singing. And, once they were in full flow, that's when Joe, Lin and the others would join in and sing with the guests that had started them off.
"You sure? I haven't sung in a while"
Eliza soon piped up for her dad.
"Come on dad. You have a great singing voice!"
"Yeah, dad. I've never heard you sing!"
Taking a deep breath when he realised he wasn't going to convince his daughters about his hesitance. Eric begins singing. What he was singing, well, it surprised many. But, once he got into the rhythm, the others joined him with the song he was singing. He was genuinely surprised when Loona sat closer to him while singing. It was rare he showed his emotions. But, when he did, he showed raw emotion when he sang.
Loona and Snow's Room. Even Later That Night.
Chewing the tobacco in his mouth. Eric is standing by the window of the room he was sharing with Loona. In contrast, she stayed up on her phone. Eric takes a glance behind him to the hound just browsing on her phone. They hadn't saved each other enough times to just give up on each other. The look of love Snow had for the Hell hound was endless. And, even when she has her angry moments or she pissed him off at times. He would always be by her side.
Loona catches Snow staring at her for too long. Causing him to look away with a fluster and a smile. She knew not to interrupt Snow's musings. So, as she makes some space for Snow in the bed they were sharing for the night. And, once the male was under the covers after spitting his chew out the window. Loona drapes her arm over Snow's chest. When she looks the male in the eyes, despite the look she had on her face. Loona asks whilst her chin rested on her boyfriend's chest.
"I think the kids are enjoying themselves."
Eric nods in reply. Seeing Loona laughing to herself. He says with his own smile.
"This is the only time one of your dad's ideas hasn't backfired. Plus, I couldn't just leave them to be bored at home."
Loona nods. Despite the two eyes meeting and, sharing a small kiss between each other. Eric couldn't be happier with the position he was in right now. He never saw himself falling in love again after not long since murdering his ex-wife. A woman he thought he had loved. But, looking at the Hell hound staring at him from her position with her head resting on his chest. Eric now believed in love at a second chance.
Before the two were to drift off to sleep. Eric had another thing playing on his mind when his hand moved to his girlfriend's waist. Would their relationship be plain sailing from now on?
Next Morning
Walking around the many booths and other things going on around the farm. Eric was simply amazed by the simplicity of a local shindig. We now cut to Loona and the kids looking around at one of the many stalls that were on offer to the small family. If this was a carnival in the Greed Circle of Hell. The prices for everything would be so much more expensive. Here in the Wrath Circle, however. The prices were that dirt cheap, Snow and Eliza were seen carrying a bowl of chilli with cornbread while carrying a nacho cheese covered hot dog and a large cola in their hands from one of the stands.
Loona, despite being known to be stubborn about her boyfriend wasting his money on her. She had to sigh when Winter spoke to her.
"Mommy… daddy helped me getcha a little something."
Retrieving what she wanted to give her mother. Winter slowly held up a key chain of a tiny skeleton zombie puppy in front of Loona. Of all the things he could get their daughter to buy her. This was it.
"I can't accept this Wyn. You shouldn't waste your money on me."
Loona looked away annoyed when she began making puppy noises and says in mock anger.
"Fine. I'll go give Snuffles to daddy then."
As quick as a flash. Loona took the little keychain from her daughter and held it close to her. This causes Austin to say with a mock smile on his face from behind Winter.
"Thought you didn't want it, mom?"
Loona blushes before snapping back at her oldest, and only, son.
"Winter bought me it. So, I'll be keeping it. Your dad can go and get his own freaking keychain! Besides, It's cute..."
Eliza caught that last part and said quietly about the little puppy keychain her sister had given Loona. Pretending she hadn't heard her sister's adoptive mother. She says with a smirk.
"I'm sorry. Did my dad's girlfriend who, if I remember correctly, despises cute things? Just call something my little sister bought for her, for seventy-five cents, cute?"
All Loona could do was hide her face behind her tail in anger and embarrassment at her boyfriend's daughter being a dick. However, she was grateful for the little keychain Winter had bought for her with the change in her pocket. Though Loona didn't care for money or gifts like the rich whores in Hell did. If it was a gift from any of her small family like this small puppy keychain was. Then, and only then, Loona would treasure and protect it till she either lost it or misplaced it. One of the two was bound to happen.
After a few more hours of goofing off. And, nearly $200 was spent by the couple and their kids. They began to rendezvous with the others at a designated meeting point to watch the games from the sidelines. Loona sat on her phone, Austin and Eliza were seen to be leaning back in their bleacher seats while Winter cheered for her Uncle Moxxie.
"YOU CAN DO IT UNCLE MOXXIE!"
Austin and Eliza got a kick from watching their uncle Moxxie gets his ass kicked during the games. All the while, Snow felt bad that he, himself couldn't compete to show these imps how to tackle a real obstacle course. But, if this was the imps version of the athletics on Earth. Who was he to stop them from having their fun during the fall?
There was plenty of things Snow could have been doing right now. Driving, drinking moonshine with the locals, Loona, smoking a cigar with Millie's pops, playing wingman for his son. Or, helping Winter work up the courage to attempt horse riding. You name it, Snow would have rather been anywhere else than watching country bumpkins go nuts.
He would soon find himself called into action without realising the moment he caught the sight of an imp with a gold tooth glinting in the sunlight. Eric spotted the shooter a mile away from his seat. Seeing the glint of sniper scope told him all he needed to know.
Slipping from his seat. And, making sure no one noticed he had vanished after kissing Loona on the lips for the split second she'd turned to face him. The male set to work.
Striker
The bounty hunter in question, the one who had alerted Snow to his presence, was seen lurking in the shadows when the hybrid burst down the door to his and Loona's room that they had stayed in last night. Despite the question of why the imp was in this room in particular. Eric had no idea but to try and coax the hitman out of hiding.
"I know you're in here imp. Show yourself, coward."
"Strong words coming from Blitz's lapdog."
Stryker appeared from the shadows. Lunging at his taller opponent, Striker managed to stab Snow in the back with a blade that burnt the hybrid's skin upon contact. Yelling in pain and managing to throw the imp off of his back. Eric waited until Striker tried to attack again. This time, Snow got his gun up in time to stop the blade before thrust kicking the imp away from him.
"There's a price on your head, Snow. I'm just here to collect what I am owed."
Striker says with an evil grin spreading across his face. Wiping the blood from his mouth where Snow had kicked the bounty hunter. The two began to start throwing punches at each other. Not one blow missed its target. If Snow got a successful punch-off. Striker swung for Snow with a fist to the jaw.
Nothing was left unturned during the fight. When it looked like Snow had the imp pinned under him. And, had begun raining shots down with a clenched left fist. Striker found a chair leg and, with an almighty swing, wrapped it around Snow's head. Causing the object to break on impact and stagger the male long enough for Striker to draw his knife again. With enough force, he leapt on top of the hybrid. Knife hovering over the male's face, he had to think quickly as the imp asks.
"Any last words Lazarus?"
Eric had to think quick. The blade was burning the flesh on his right hand while the other hand was slowly withering away under the blade about to kill him. Trying his hardest to keep the blade away from him, and knowing it was a losing battle. Eric uses his mouth to let out an ear-splitting whistle.
Back With I.M.P.
"You did your best Moxxie. That's all you can ask for, right guys?"
Moxxie, after getting his ass kicked during the games and, holding an ice pack on the back of his neck. He is being comforted by Millie while Blitzo replied with laughter at Moxxie's predicament. Loona showed no interest while on her phone. The sound of a whistle soon caused the hound to rub her right ear in irritation. Turning to her dad, she says angrily.
"OW BLITZ! You don't need to whistle. I am right here you know!"
Blitzo looked at his daughter weirded out when he responds.
"That wasn't me Loony."
That was when a look of horror crossed Loona's face. Doing a mental headcount of the imps and the kids she was with. They were down one male from the group. That's when Loona put two and two together. Eliza soon confirmed Loona's fears when she asks in worry.
"Where's Dad?!"
Her horror was soon confirmed the minute a window-smashing in the distance caught the seven's attention. And, dangling from the window with his skeletal left hand. They see Snow with a knife through his right shoulder while Stryker is seen pointing a gun right between his eyes.
"SNOW!"
"DAD!"
Back With Snow and Striker
The moment Loona, Austin, Eliza, Winter and Millie were stood underneath the barely hanging on hybrid. Blitz and Moxxie charged the room, much to Striker's surprise at the two imps that were rushing him. Noting he was soon to be outnumbered. And, the hybrid would soon die from the blade in his shoulder. The imp bounty hunter made his exit by slipping by the two trying to apprehend and kill him.
Once the bounty hunter was gone. Moxxie and Blitz turned their attention back to the male barely hanging on. Seeing the blood and the, now, infected wound. Moxxie was nearly sick when he tried to help the male through the window. Blitzo noticed his daughter's boyfriend was getting weaker by the moment. Seeing his skeletal hand slipping from the windowpane he was hanging onto for dear life, Blitzo hollers.
"Just hold on asshole. I'm not done laying down the ground rules to dating my baby."
Eric smiles weakly. If he could raise his limp right arm. He would have flipped off Loona's dad for that statement. Only, with how his arm was completely fried from the knife working its poison through his system. He began noting the distance of the drop he would face if he was to fall. Eric looks between Blitzo and his skeletal hand slipping finger by finger on the ledge.
"Hang on, Snow. We've got you pal!"
Despite the imp's best efforts at trying to drag the heavy male through the window. They weren't expecting something to go wrong.
BANG!
Eric's eyes widened in pain. Blitzo and Moxxie looked up after the gunshot had rung out. And, their eyes couldn't believe the size of the bullet hole in Snow's chest. With eyes wide in pain. Eric looked at Blitzo. Slowly turning his head slightly. He catches a glimpse of Striker on his horse. Lowering his rifle at a successful hit. The imp smirks before taking his leave. His job was done.
Everything soon went into slow motion for everyone involved with the male when he plummeted from the window. Winter and Eliza were seen to be screaming and crying at their dad falling. All the while Millie and Austin had to move to make sure they could get a good catch on the falling hybrid to drop into the safety net they had used in the games.
The minute Snow lands. The screen cuts to black with Loona's scream.
"SNOW!"
