XVIII The Moon
Kagome prodded Inuyasha's shoulder. "What are you thinking about?"
He started. Damn his dulled senses.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Keh."
"So?"
"So what?"
"What were you thinking about?"
"How do you know I wasn't just sleeping?"
"You never sleep on the night of the new moon."
She had a point.
"Keh."
The silence stretched until Kagome figured that he wasn't going to answer her and she relaxed back onto her bed to catch a couple hours of sleep before sunrise.
"Next time I turn human can we explore your time?"
Kagome smiled. "I thought you'd never ask."
Author's Note: I like the idea of Inuyasha in modern-day Tokyo, but born in the past. The process of him learning about everything intrigues me. Stuff like vending machines, shopping malls, restaurants, etc. All normal things for us but would undoubtedly puzzle and/or make him very uneasy.
The Moon represents one's fantasy. I figured a small part of Inuyasha has got to be damn curious about modern-day Tokyo even though he bitches and moans about it all the time. But most of his issues stem from the city's assaults on his enhanced senses. With normal human senses, all he'd have to deal with is his hatred of crowds, giant metal machines of death (cars), and just being without his senses, naturally. No sweat.
