DON'T OWN ONCE UPON A TIME. SONG IS CALLED "GOODBYE" BY AVRIL LAVIGNE.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye my love
I can't hide, can't hide, can't hide what has come
I have to go
I have to go
I have to go
And leave you alone
But always know
Always know
Always know that I love you so
I love you so
I love you so, oh
Emma somehow managed to stop crying long enough to call the morgue and get Graham's body to the hospital. She couldn't go back to the station and be faced with the last place she saw him, so she called Mary Margaret to pick her up from the hospital. Thankfully, the brunette hadn't asked questions and drove to their apartment in silence. Her hands were shaking too much to unlock the door, so her roommate had to. She didn't say anything and took the stairs two at a time to her room. She didn't need to explain anything. Mary Margaret knew Graham had died and that Emma had loved him. She flopped onto the bed, boots and all, and started sobbing again. That's what she's still doing an hour later at 11:00 PM. This isn't something she can run and hide from. The man she loved died in her arms, literally. She didn't want to leave the morgue. She wanted to kiss him one last time. If there was ever a time to believe in Henry's crazy theory and true love's kiss, then would've been the time. But she didn't. That would involve kissing a dead body, and she hadn't wanted to do that. Besides, it was insane. She hopes he knows that she will always love him, no matter what.
Goodbye brown eyes
Goodbye for now
Goodbye sunshine
Take care of yourself
She thinks about that handsome face he had. The brown eyes full of love and concern and spark. She's not religious, but Emma hopes she'll see him again. He was the reason she was excited to go to work. Henry might be the center of her world, but Graham was a very close second. She hopes that he's okay.
La lullaby
Distract me with your rhymes
La lullaby
She remembers a particularly slow day they had. They were bored out of their minds and had resorted to tongue twisters. He had said than whenever he was feeling lonely, he'd recite 'six sick slim sycamore saplings'. It would distract him from her current situation and get him through. Emma whispers the rhyme now through the tears.
La lullaby
Help me sleep tonight
La lullaby
She does so until she falls asleep. It doesn't surprise her when she wakes up a few hours later, her face wet with fresh tears. She had been dreaming and crying. The kiss replayed over and over, and at the end of the dream, he still ended up dead.
Goodbye brown eyes
Goodbye my love
She misses him so much. Most of all, she misses those eyes that were always so kind, the ones she could get lost in and forget what she was supposed to be doing. Emma doesn't believe in fairytales, but last night she started believing in true love. Now, hers is dead. She glances over to her nightstand to read the time, but freezes when she sees the mug of hot chocolate on it. She claps a hand over her mouth to stifle the new onslaught of sobs. These ones threaten to rip her apart, they're so ferocious. "Graham." It comes out as a strangled cry that's barely audible as she curls into the fetal position on the bed.
SO, KINDA SAD ENDING. SORRY ABOUT THAT. FEEDBACK WOULD BE AWESOME!
