A Safe Place
Kagome coughed and spat up a mouthful of salt water. Her eyes desperately tried to adjust to the dim light with little success. She felt like she had been run over by a bus, then beaten up underwater by an angry rhinoceros. But that isn't why her body hurt so bad she knew the real reason why, and that reason could be right next to her for all she knew. She tried to sit up but a strong hand pushed her back down, she reacted defensively in spite of her wounds and she shoved her fists in the same direction of the hand. Then a heart beat later she was on her feet with her back up against a wall .
"Woo, easy Little Sister, its just me, Hakkaku."
"Hakkaku? Is it really you?" Her voice shook with desperation.
"Yeah, its me" He said as he gently rested his hands on her shoulders. Kagome laughed and cried with relief as she slumped onto his chest. "I made it, I got away", was all she said before she fell back into darkness and the warm protective embrace of a wolf demon.
