Chap. 5
Firefly was happy by the end of the day. All her teachers were fabulous and made the subjects ten times better.
She was brainy in class and was not afraid to show it. Firefly answered every question she volunteered for correctly and had made the class groan a few times. However, she did manage to win the hearts of her classmates in Biology. Dr. McCoy had said since Firefly seemed to know the subject so well they wouldn't have homework that night. She hadn't blushed that much since she helped win her first Volleyball game.
She saw Logan walking down the hall towards her and almost went up to say "Hello."
Almost.
Logan had been looking down his class list. Firefly. Firefly? He didn't know her real name!
So now, he was walking through the halls of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, looking for one particular youngster.
He found her coming out of Biology, a group of kids patting her on the back as they past. It looked as if she was going to initiate conversation first, but then it seemed she changed her mind.
"Having a good first day?" he asked a light grin spreading across his lips.
"Fine." She answered shortly.
"What's your real name?"
"What?" she nearly yelled. The random question had caught her off guard.
"What's your real name?" Logan repeated, looking thoroughly pleased at her discomfort.
"Temperance Bellview." Said a young boy as he past the pair. Temperance glared after him.
"There are too many telepaths in this school." She grumbled.
"Temperance?" sniggered Logan.
"Shut - I mean, be quiet, Professor Logan." She sniggered this time.
He looked satisfied as he pulled three sheets of paper out of his pocket and began scanning them.
"I'll be seeing you tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in the Danger Room." His voice tuned back to its usual growl.
"Don't be late."
