Kira x Stellar – Chapter 6 – Kira's Decision
AN: Well, I hope you'll enjoy this chapter as it was very fun to write! Seeing how this is a turning point for Stellar, this chapter is really important. Hopefully now that we have established Stellar as a main character, I can pick up the pace of the chapters. Enjoy, and feel free to post a review or PM to let me know your thoughts.
Kira could feel the authority behind this man. His eyes were sharp, perceiving, and unnerving as he bored straight at the uninvited guest now standing outside. He was no slouch either as it was obvious that he maintained a lifestyle that demanded keeping the body in shape. That much was evident in his body language. He seemed cold and efficient, thought Kira. Handing back Meyrin's ring somehow got the man's attention though.
"You must be Kira, thanks for getting my daughter home safely," the man smiled as his expression softened considerably. He saw a confident and mature young man in Kira and wondered how Meyrin had met him.
It caught Kira unexpectedly though. "Have we met before?" he asked quizzically.
The man smiled and shook his head understandably. "No, we haven't. But Meyrin has been really excited these past few days for the date."
"D-date?" stuttered Kira helplessly as his cheeks turned a shade of red.
"You mean… it wasn't a date?" asked the man incredulously. Kira could finally breathe a sigh of relief. "No, it wasn't a date. We were just hanging out with another friend." Looking at the time, he realized he still had to get Stellar home. "I'm sorry I have to go," he said kindly.
"Well in that case, I won't be keeping you. Thanks again!" Who knew the man could be so cheerful, Kira thought to himself. Meyrin sure has cool parents, he thought to himself. It made him wonder how his real parents lived their lives if they were still alive. He didn't feel any regret for them, not one bit. After all, they had both contributed to making him the ultimate coordinator, a monster. His hands tightened into a grip at the thought of such impure power existing inside of him. After the last war, he finally had time to reflect upon his existence, and the sayings of Rau Le Creuset, and Durandal. Could they have been right? He didn't believe them back then, and now he feared that they were right all along.
Kira looked up into the night sky that twinkled with small stars. It was truly a beautiful sight to see. Breathing a deep sigh, he released his grip and continued walking although a bit slower and saddened.
A cold breeze picked up and as he shivered, he couldn't help but feel worried as another thought came up. Were they really helping Stellar? What was the direction? What was the goal? His eyes slightly dropped to sad pout that was barely visible. He just didn't have the answer. But whatever it was, he promised that he would find it and help Stellar every step of the way.
"Stellar?" It couldn't be, what was she doing standing outside the car? He blinked a few times to make sure his tiredness wasn't affecting him, but she was still there. "Stellar!" he ran towards her.
Something was wrong. Stellar had her arms crossed and was staring at the ground directly in front of her. It seemed like she hadn't heard his call. This worried Kira as he ran faster and faster to get to her.
"Kira… you're finally back. Stellar was waiting," she said impatiently without looking up at him.
"Ah, I'm sorry. We should get going," said Kira, but Stellar suddenly grabbed his wrist with a cool touch.
"There's something Stellar has to ask," said Stellar with her head down and looking away.
"Stellar?" said Kira looking up in surprise. He wondered what could be so important that she had to ask right now.
"Why does Kira care so much for Stellar?" she quivered. Stellar finally looked up and all Kira could see was a troubled, wet face. Her teary eyes pleaded in desperation for an answer. He couldn't believe it, she had been crying.
"Why, Kira? Stellar has to know…" She looked away briefly, "No…" and then turned to him again with an even sadder expression, "Stellar needs to know!" her grip on him tightened slightly.
"I…" Kira didn't know what to say. This was too sudden and unexpected. "Kira!" shouted Stellar stubbornly who thought Kira was ignoring her. Much to Kira's amazement, Stellar was still holding to his wrist unwilling to let go.
Kira didn't know what came up, but he took a step to close the distance between them. He looked warmly into her magenta eyes and took in her figure up close. So pure, so innocent, so soft, he noticed. How could he not care for her, he asked himself as he stepped a bit closer and gently hugged her, allowing her head to rest on his shoulder as he whispered gently. "I care for you because I…" he hesitated. How could he say it without sounding too hard, and would she take it the right way? Although unsure, he felt he knew Stellar just enough that she would understand his words and the meaning behind those words. "Because I like you, I like hanging out with you, I like your smile, your personality." He waited for a response, unsure if he had already said too much. "So please... Don't worry, and don't leave, okay?" His last words were barely louder than a whimper as he wanted to gently answer her question. She felt so warm and delicate in his grasp, and he could smell her pleasant lemony scent.
Stellar was shocked when Kira hugged her, and as he said those words, she gently closed her eyes and smiled, allowing her to take comfort in him. She felt something stir up inside her, but she didn't know what it was. This feeling… she had never experienced it before, not even with Shinn. But it made her clamour closer to Kira, she wanted him. Slowly, she drew her head back and looked up at Kira with a flushed face. "Kira is it really true?" she asked adoringly as she gazed into his eyes. Seeing her flushed face, Kira slightly looked away much to Stellar's disappointment. "Y-yeah it is." Stellar now felt that inside feeling growing and tugging at her heart, causing her to instinctively lean closer to Kira. She had never done this before and while it normally would've scared her, it just felt right and natural. "Stellar? Do you-" he never had a chance to finish as her lips captured his in a kiss. She kissed him with all her heart.
It wasn't long until Stellar drew back, her flushed face now a few deeper shades of red as she nervously waited for Kira to say something. "Stellar?" said Kira who was still shocked at what transpired. He couldn't believe she just kissed him. Those small and soft lips, he didn't think he could forget that feeling now that he had experienced it. That wasn't all though, it had so much emotion, feeling, and thought behind it which was what made it even cuter.
"Did Stellar do something wrong?" Stellar asked cutely, snapping Kira out of his thoughts. There was just one problem. Lacus. He knew she wouldn't be happy about this. But at the same time, he realized that this was the critical moment to help Stellar fully place her trust in him. Could he let the rules slip just once?
"How can you say that, Stellar?" said Kira as he brushed away a few strands of her yellow hair that had been dampened by tears. Kira knew she just needed time to comprehend. "Do you really like me that much?" he asked honestly, to which Stellar nodded. He gave her a smile. "Kira do you like it when Stellar is around?" She shifted her feet together nervously and stared at the ground. "Do you even need to ask?" said Kira pulling Stellar in a tight hug, allowing them to share the warmth as the night was now noticeably cooler. "Stellar do you understand now?" he whispered. Stellar found herself relaxing in his embrace and her negative thoughts were starting to fade. "Thanks Kira…" she sniffled as a few tears of joy streamed down her face. "Stellar is happy when she's with Kira," she stated.
"I guess I can say the same about you."
"Stellar is sorry she doubted Kira," she mumbled softly. After the hug, Kira could see light tint of red on Stellar's cheeks. But this time Stellar seemed to notice it as well and immediately turned away in embarrassment. "L-let's head back now," said Kira lightheartedly trying to pretend nothing had happened. "Y-yeah good idea," said Stellar blushing and agreeing all too knowingly.
AN: So did you like it or what? I'm accepting ideas for the next chapter, so if you have one, feel free to let me know via comment or PM. -Saikou
