Aladdin, El Katib

Disclaimer: Don't own it. I'm as rich as a street rat.
Summary: Mirage changes Agrabah's destiny by planting a seed of evil in young Aladdin's heart.
Chapter I
Seed of Evil
"What is this?" Mirage growls, as she gazes into her swirling pool of evil.
It burns her blackened soul to witness the golden future of Agrabah. She swipes her claws across the perfect image of prosperity and happiness and grins as it slowly ripples away. That future will only be a blink of what could be, with the help of her guiding hand.
"I will not allow that future to happen! All kingdoms of the seven deserts and the world shall cower under the fear of, Mirage!"
Mirage swished a claw into the all-seeing pool. "Ah, this future is created by a mere street rat named, Aladdin. Now, all I have to do is alter this boy's destiny, and I have the purrfect idea in mind."
Mirage's jade eyes gleam in evil glory. "Aladdin will be mine!"
"You cannot change the path of destiny, Mirage."
Her ears twitch, "Phasir!"
She'll extinguish the flames of her fire cats for not tearing this annoyance in half. Evil minions are hard to find. Mirage regains her malicious composure and laughs, "You old fool! I'm surprised you're not dead yet."
"Aladdin is pure of heart. None of your evil spells can taint his soul and grand destiny."
Phasir disappears with the wind. The cryptic seer never stays in one place too long, and Mirage is glad he gave up on trying to return goodness into her heart. She is and always will be, Evil Incarnate!
"Dear Phasir, destiny can easily be changed with just a touch of evil. Rwooor!"
I'm a street rat. I'm a thief. I'm nothing more than a lowly orphan. My parents abandoned me. No one else wants a beggar boy, dressed in shambles, either. Hunger and solitude are my friends.
I hear the whispers: Children, stay away from that Aladdin. He's nothing but trouble. He'll get your head chopped off.
Even the rats I scavenge with scurry off in hurried hisses at first sight of me.
No matter how poor, both kids and adults only come near me to mock or throw their rotting garbage at me. They even blame their crimes on me. With their help, I'm guaranteed a seat with the Sultan's personal executioner.
Today they tried to scare me by telling me some story about children getting stolen in the night. I don't believe them. It's their way of trying to get me off the streets of Agrabah and back to my hovel.
It's too risky to go back into the marketplace. I almost lost an arm to Farouk, the greedy fruit vender, when he caught me snatching an apple earlier.
My stomach grumbles like a raging sandstorm. I haven't eaten more than a few scraps in days.
The Sultan's guards are even after my head. I'm Agrabah's most wanted runt. I should have my own seat at the Skull and Dagger, the thieves' den.
My best chance for survival is to thieve in the night, while the people sleep. They'll dream of riches, and I'll steal them right out of their slumbering heads.
At least my home has a nice view of the city.
The full moon shines upon the palace. They're so lucky! Getting everything handed to them on a gold platter. Having all of the food, treasure, and servants in the world. Having the power to do anything they want! Fate favors the kings and spits on the rest of the world's people!
I want to live there!
Someday I'm gonna make something of myself! I'll make them see. Everyone will know the name Aladdin.
To be continued…
Just a little idea I had after watching the episode, The Lost Ones. Just had an Aladdin marathon. It used to be my favorite show/movie as a kid. Mirage is one of my favorite Aladdin villains, only second to Mozenrath.
