Minawa: You must not wait any longer, THE STORY HAS COME BACK TO LIFE! *evil laughter and lightning in the background*

Kid: ... wow, you have NEVER been THIS slow at updating... and you're pretty slow.

Minawa: *gives evil eye and chases after Kid with a huge fish*

Dreams of Kid, the kidnappers and the police mixed together with all my friends disappointed faces haunted me during my sleep and I woke, like as if shaken awake. I glanced around but found the cabin dark and empty. I grabbed the blown out candle and looked around the cabin. No sight of Kid whatsoever.

I stood and walked over to the table, finding wrapped bowls of rice and side dishes waiting for me. I guessed Kid had chosen not to wake me up...

A few minutes I had managed to light the candle once again and after I had sat down to eat the rain started to tap against the window. The darkness stopped me from seeing out into the woods but the rapid rhythm of drops told me it fell faster every second. My stomach dropped and hardened when I thought of the missing teenager but I shook my head and ate a little bit quicker.

When I put down the sticks, done with my food, the door opened up and a figure rushed in. Kid had appeared like a wet cat, hissing because of the cold. I stood in a hurry and walked over.

"Where were you? You okay? Wait here..." I said rapidly and walked to the bathroom, finding a towel. I waved at Kid to sit down on the couch, which he did after throwing off his jacket and shoes. I stood in front of him, covering his head with the white towel.

"Ouch! Don't be so rough!" Kaito complained as I dried his hair. I smiled slightly.

"Live with it..." I simply said and we both fell into silence. He sat still as my hands moved around his scalp, catching the water from his hair.

His hands reached up to catch mine and they both sent a chill through my body. They were ice cold.

"Shinichi..." Kaito said as he stood, towel still in his head, holding my hands tight. I looked at him with question but the face I saw hidden behind the towel showed me nothing I could deduct, nothing I could figure out. His eyes shone in the candle light as he leant in and captured my mouth gently, almost in a careful manner. I froze to a stiff board but noticed myself that I didn't pull away. I didn't hate it...

Kaito noticed that as well and his tongue flicked against my lips as his one of his hands grabbed the nape of my neck. The kiss became passionate as our tongues explored more of each other. I was caught up in the moment and couldn't stop the tiny object I felt slip into my mouth and down my throat. I ripped away from Kaito with shocked eyes and grabbed my mouth.

"What... did you give me?" I said but his serious face didn't change the slightest. That damn poker face.

The room slowly became unfocused and it was difficult to see straight. I wobbled once before strong arms grabbed my limp body. I felt a whisper in my ear but couldn't comprehend the words. Then I was blacked out in a second.

I woke up, no surprise, tied to a chair. Pieces of black fabric held my wrists, ankles and chest tied to one of the old armrest chairs that had been forgotten on one of the cabins corners. I tried moving my arm in my blurry state of mind but the cotton fabric would not budge. I slowly lifted my head and felt my sore neck protest. Sleeping with your head lying on your chest is never fun...

It seemed like I was alone for now. Looking around the room and over at the kitchen I couldn't see Kid but I also listened for any noise from the bathroom. Nothing.

I started pulling some more but figured it would be useless, Kid was too good and wouldn't forget tying me up propertly. Why had he tied me up in the first place? I was no threat, for crying out loud; I was the one being chased down. It hit me that Kid might be worried that I would wander off and get caught again but seriously, he had other ways of stopping me... right?

I sighed but slowly started to wonder if that was really what Kid... no, Kaito wanted. Maybe he was...?

The front door opening interrupted my thoughts. An old man stepped inside and shook off raindrops from his bulky coat and grey mustache. I stared at him with indifference until he looked up and met my gaze.

"Welcome back Kid, care to explain?" I said as Kid removed the coat, wig and fake facial hair. He gave me a funny grin and then walked into the kitchen. I tried to burn holes into his neck with my eyes, literally. He had been out to get groceries and now begun unpacking, effectively ignoring me. I sighed but figured I could wait and in the meantime warm up my stiff neck.

Minutes passed in silence but finally Kid finished up in the kitchen and silently walked over to my chair, sitting down on the couches' armrest. He locked his hand together and looked down, probably gathering his thoughts on what to say. It surprised me a lot, knowing that Kid usually would joke or make fun of a situation. Now his brows were knitted together and his face was serious.

"Kaito?" I said carefully and he slowly looked up at me. He looked almost ashamed.

"I can't risk it, now that you know the truth about me. Just stay put for a little while." He said with a strict voice and my jaw just fell open.

"Stay put?! STAY PUT?!" I yelled out, surprising him. Glee spread in my vains as I knew I had his full attention.

"Are you freaking kidding me? I'M A RISK?! You actually think I'd rat you out, to whom, the police? Hah!" I yelled at him and he looked hurt with a touch of shame in his face. He stood and turned away. I stared at him, waiting for an answer. With his back towards me his shoulders relaxed a bit.

"Like I said; can't take the risk. Until we got this mess figured out you will stay where you are. I'll get you some breakfast." He said and I swear, despite him trying to mask it, I heard sadness in his voice. I sighed, loudly, before returning into my own thoughts.

Breakfast passed in silence and despite having one hand freed by Kaito, temporarily of course, I refrained from trying to escape. What was the point? Kaito would stop me instantly and even if I did get away I still had people looking for me at home. Besides, I really didn't want to fight with Kaito... Kid! I mean Kid!

I glanced over at... Kid and knew he was too deep into his own head to notice my stare. Dark circles laid heavy beneath his eyes and I felt bad for him. I had been able to sleep (uncomfortably tied to a wooden armchair) but Kid had been up all night; getting food and watching for intruders.

I caught myself staring at him for too long and quickly looked away embarrassed. What was I doing? I had to get this together already or nothing would get fixed.

"Kid." I said and he snapped out of his thoughts. I looked him in the eyes seriously, to show that I really meant what I was about to say.

"Your secret is safe with me and I won't hand you over to the police. I owe you too much and I'm worried..." I said and his head tilted innocently.

"You are worried? About me?" he asked carefully. I raised and eyebrow and then glanced down.

"Well... you haven't been able to sleep at all and you look really worn out. I can be on look out for a few hours, I promise I won't do anything!" I said and looked up at him again. He looked oddly pleased for a moment but then sighed.

"You expect me to trust a detective, one that has already shot at me and tried to catch me several times? No thank you." He said and started cleaning up the leftovers from breakfast, gathering breadcrumbs into piles on the table. I bit my lip.

"Fine, whatever. I know you just want the necklace but... I thought for a sec that you could be a really close friend..." I glanced down again and hung with my head. It wasn't a lie after all; I really had felt betrayed when I woke up tied down.

Kid had frozen in place, midway through sweeping crumbs. He seemed to have stuck in a thought so I glanced up with a questioning look on my face.

"I so want to kiss you right now." Kid suddenly said with a straight face. I frowned.

"Haaaah?" I asked but he just scratched his head violently and stood up in a hurry.

"I need to go to the bathroom..." Kid whispered and rushed off. I gaped my mouth wide open in surprise but then frowned again.

"I'M STILL TIED UP! KID!"
