The Gates of Hades

Chapter 1: Olivia

I'm sitting in a corner hugging my knees to my chest. I've been sitting like this since I saw my brother Percy fall into the depths of Tartarus with Annabeth. Piper, Hazel, Frank, Jason, and Leo are trying to console me. "Olivia, you know that Percy will come back. As soon as we finish this mission everything will be back to normal. I just need you to calm down." Piper said trying to use her charm speak. "You know that doesn't work on me." I say with irritation. Everyone tries to console me in different ways until there is who hasn't spoken, Leo. "Olivia you know your brother don't you?" he asks. "Of course I know my brother. Why wouldn't I?" I ask. "If you know your brother so well then why are you so nervous that he won't come back?" he asks. "You know that your brother doesn't leave without coming back." He continues. "I know that but this is the first time we haven't been together on a quest. Even when Hera wiped our memories, we were still together." I say. "Well this quest will be different. We'll get to the gates and get your brother back. And until we get him back we are all here for you, especially me." He says. Out of what everyone else said Leos' promise stuck. This actually made me feel a lot better. I know I can count on everyone on this ship to be there for me, because they all love Percy as much as I do. Leo is still looking at me in concern when I nod my head. "Alright, let's go get my brother." I say. As I head below deck to get freshened up I go to see how nicos' holding up. Hazel and I are probably the only ones on the ship who care about him. Sure he didn't tell Percy and me who we were but I still care. As I walk in I see Nico lying down looking less than his unusual and mysterious self. "Hey Nico, how are you holding up?" I ask. "I'm tired and sore but I'll be fine soon." He said weakly. "Okay, let me know if you need anything." I say with a soft smile. I walk across the hallway to my room and head straight for the bathroom. I turn on the water as cold as it can go and splash my face. The cold cleared my mind. Before I went back upstairs I tried to call my dad. I put two drachmas into the fountain before I remembered that the gods are having problems with their two sides, Greek and Roman. A loud bang brings me to reality when Leo sticks his head through my door to say "Don't worry about that sound I dropped some equipment." I get up and start to the door. "Alright let's get moving. I'm ready to find my brother."
