New chapter because I survived the first fucking semester in college! Now I'm enjoying my semestral break on this rainy night and thought of updating this fic.

PS: Two more OCs coming your way!

Thank you for all of those who put up with slow progressiveness of this story. It'll all be over soon.

Starfire did not manage to get a good night's sleep again. She was well awake before her alarm clock went on. She just lay there entangled between the sheets as she stared at the blank ceiling above her. It was 6:50 am and no one in the house was awake that early. Starfire closed her eyes and tried to catch a few minutes of sleep before her alarm goes off at 7:00 am but as soon as she did images from the past run around her head. Images when she first met Robin in a luau, when they dated and then when he asked her to marry him. Her mind was full of their memories and she could not take it anymore.

Lazily, she swung her legs to the side of the bed and sat up. She stayed there for a few seconds before making her way to the bathroom where she splashed cold water on her face. Maybe this wasn't a good idea, coming back she thought to herself. Then again her best friend would kill her if she didn't attend the wedding so she really has no choice but to face all of this, whatever this is.

By the time she stepped out of the bathroom her alarm was beeping. She turned it off and made her way down stairs where she could smell breakfast. Raven was frying up some pancakes while Garfield impatiently waited for them, sipping a hot mug of coffee.

"Good morning!" She greeted them with too much effort on sounding happy. The two greeted her back as she sat down on the bar stool beside Garfield. "What do you want for breakfast?" Raven asked as she served the golden brown pancakes with deliciously melting butter. "I don't usually eat for breakfast but what do you have for a drink?" She asked as Garfield attacked the stack of pancakes. Raven moved to the cupboard and rummaged through the contents of it. "Coffee, tea or juice?" Raven asked. "I'll have tea with milk please!" Starfire said in her usual gleeful voice. Raven nodded and proceeded to make her friend milk tea.

Halfway through breakfast the doorbell rang and they all looked at each other. "Were you expecting someone?" Raven asked looking at Garfield who gave her a shrug. She stood up and made her way to the front door. A familiar face greeted her. "Jillian, hey." She said giving the woman a hug. "Hey yourself too Raven." She greeted back. Just then a little girl came out from the car and run towards her. "Auntie Raven!" The kid shouted with joy as she was welcomed into Raven's arms. "Good morning to you too Katie."

Raven stood up. "Garfield! Your sister and niece are here!" She shouted. She turned to both of them. "Come in, we're having breakfast." Raven invited. "No thank you, I'm actually here to drop Katie off. Didn't Garfield tell you?" Jillian asked. Garfield and Starfire joined them by the front door as Katie ran to hug her uncle. "I might have forgotten to tell her." He said, scratching the back of his head. "Oh dear… I guess little Katie can tag along as we prepare for the wedding." Raven said.

"Thank you Raven, I'll be back to pick her up around 6 pm!" Jillian said as she rushed to her car and waved good bye.

Raven gave Garfield and annoyed look as he just smiled sheepishly at him. Katie walked beside her to the kitchen and she was looking up at Starfire in the whole duration. Starfire knelt down until they were face to face. "Hi! I'm Starfire, your Aunt Raven's best friend and you must be Katie." She said as she offered a hand to the girl. Surprisingly, the kid was confident and shook her hand instantly. "Nice to meet you, Aunt Starfire!" She said with a huge smile on her face.

Starfire hoisted her up to sit on one of the bar stools as Raven grabbed some milk and cookies. "Honestly Garfield, you could've remembered to tell me Jillian was dropping Katie off! And I suppose we're the ones to take care of her because you have to go to the office today?" Raven ranted. "I'm sorry! I just forgot amidst all these wedding plans." He apologized as he gulped the last bit of coffee from his mug.

"It's okay Raven. I can act both your maid of honor and Katie's nanny. It'll be fun." Starfire said. She faced Katie who was done eating her cookies. "Hey Katie, do you want to help us find a pretty dress for Aunt Raven's wedding? You could also pick up the flowers we will use." Starfire said. The kid's eyes lit up immediately. "I would love to!" She squealed. "But first, you have to help me in looking pretty for today. Come on, let's go to my room." Starfire said picking up the 7 year old kid and made their way to her room.

Raven was relieved that Starfire loved kids and that Katie was not a nosy brat. "And because of the minor setback you gave, you have dish duty." Raven said as she marched up the stairs leaving Garfield in the kitchen with the dirty dishes.

Katie helped Starfire dress up and the kid has a good fashion sense. She picked a plain white blouse, light blue skirt and a pair of black doll shoes. By the time both of them made their way down, Garfield and Raven were bickering again. It was something about the car this time.

"How are we supposed to get around when you're going to use the car?" Raven asked. "Don't worry; Robin will be here any minute!" Garfield reasoned out. Raven let out an exasperated sigh. "You don't get it do you? You'll make Star and Robin's situation even more complicated! But I guess it's inevitable." Raven almost shouted. They were interrupted by the doorbell. Garfield opened the door and Robin stepped in. "I'll be home before dinner" Garfield said as he gave Raven a quick kiss before rushing out to the garage. Raven rolled her eyes and was about to call Starfire when she was already making her way downstairs with Katie in her arms. "Well somebody looks good." Raven said, complimenting Starfire's outfit. "Credits to my little stylist over here." She said looking at Katie who had a huge proud smile on her face.

Robin stared at Starfire and the kid she was carrying. She looked extremely beautiful and the kid with her looked quite like her. Katie had the same red hair, although not as fiery as Star's, and Katie's eyes were light green unlike Starfire who had deep emerald orbs but nonetheless, you could easily mistake them for mother and daughter. Something stirred in him, jealousy and longing perhaps because if he wasn't stupid and rash about his decisions before, he could've had a family by now instead of living alone in his villa.

"Are we just going to stand here and gawk at Starfire all day or are we going to town and make last preparations?" Raven asked, snapping Robin out of his trance. Starfire and Katie giggled as Robin nervously lead them to the car.

Their first stop was the bake shop that was supposed to bake the cake for Raven and Garfield's wedding. The chef had 5 plates of different cakes for Raven to choose from. While Raven was busy browsing through the cake designs, Starfire and Katie indulged themselves into cake tasting. "What's that red one?" Katie asked. "That's red velvet, my favorite flavor. Do you want to try?" Starfire asked. The kid nodded while she scooped a piece and fed it to Katie's waiting mouth. "It's delicious!" Katie exclaimed.

Robin watched the scene from a far, leaning against the door frame of the bakery.

Flashback.

"We have the finest array of flavors you could choose from." The chef said as he led the couple to a table with cake samples. Starfire looked at Robin who nodded at her. She took a piece from the vanilla flavored cake in front of her. "It's delicious. What do you think?" She asked looking at Robin who also ate a piece. "Isn't it a bit too simple?" He asked back.

They moved down to the last sample which was red velvet with cream cheese frosting. They both took a piece and tasted it. "Oh my gosh Robin, this is it! I want this for our wedding cake!" Starfire exclaimed as she brought another forkful of red velvet cake. Robin smiled and nodded at the chef who wrote their order down.

End of flashback.

He was brought back to reality when the three ladies approached the exit. "Red velvet? Are you sure?" Raven asked. "Katie and I liked it." Starfire answered with a nod.

Robin opened his mouth to ask where they were headed next but Raven beat him to it and said that they were headed to fit the wedding gown. He simply nodded and followed after the ladies.

The dress shop was downtown. Robin patiently sat on the waiting couch as Raven fitted her wedding dress. He leaned back and closed his eyes as his ears were filled with the lively music that played in the store. While Raven was busy in the dressing room, Starfire and Katie decided to play around. They each put on a dress and examined themselves in the mirror. Starfire wore a white gown that was extended in the back part. It was made so that flower girls could carry the extended piece down the aisle as the bride marched. Katie, on the other hand, wore a light pink cocktail dress that had a beautiful pink rose broche. "I think we look good." Starfire said as she faced the mirror. "You look like a beautiful bride! And I'm your flower girl!" Katie exclaimed with her usual amount of glee.

And just like her old quirky self, Starfire began dancing to the beat of the song. She took Katie's hands and they both danced in the dressing room while laughing.

"Star! Come here for a second and tell me what you think about the dress!" Raven shouted from the dressing room across hers.

"Well, let's go then." Starfire said but Katie held her hand and stopped her. "How about you march your way over there pretending to be a bride and I would hold your gown and pretend to be your flower girl?" She suggested. Starfire smiled and played along with the kid. She opened the door of the dressing room and stepped out. Both of them were humming the wedding march as Starfire walked slowly across the room with Katie trailing behind her.

Robin looked up from where he was sitting and saw the events in front of him unfold. There was Starfire in a wedding gown, elegantly walking across the hall with Katie in a flower girl's dress trailing behind her.

Flashback

Robin was nervously fidgeting his already sweaty fingers as he stood by the altar of the church. A hand on his shoulder gave him a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry dude, everything's gonna be fine." Garfield whispered to him. He was about to retort but the doors of the church opened and soft music began to play. He slowly looked up and there she was, in all her beauty and charm.

Soon to be Mrs. Starfire Grayson, walking down the red carpeted aisle of the chapel. A mixture of emotions flowed within his body. Robin was happy because he has found the one whom he'll spend the rest of his days with but also nervous because Starfire was totally out of his league. She was perfect in every way he could imagine and that scared him. Out of all the things he has done and despite his imperfections, Starfire chose him still.

Now they were side by side, ready to take their vows and become husband and wife.

End of flashback

Raven stepped out of the dressing room and gawked at how beautiful Starfire looked. "Well someone's having a great time." She muttered. "It's just me and little Katie having some fun." Starfire answered looking at her best friend. "Ain't that a gorgeous wedding gown?!" She shouted pulling Raven towards the mirror. The gown looked classic with a corset with embroidered vines and flowers on it. The skirt flowed elegantly to the floor and extended on the back part. Both of them looked at each other as Katie squeezed her way through. They both looked absolutely beautiful. "It almost looks like we're having a double wedding." Raven managed to say. "Yeah? Well that's not possible" Starfire said turning around and leaving the dressing room. "It is! Come on, we'll find you a husband and you'll walk down that aisle to your happy ever after" Raven said following her out of the dressing room. "In case you've forgotten. I'm already married Raven." Starfire said, pausing to realize what she just said. Raven glanced at Robin who looked surprised. "I'm eternally married to my job." Starfire added as she entered the other dressing room to change back into her casual clothes.

Raven gave a confused look at Robin who just shrugged at her in response.

After the whole day of going from store to store they finally reached the end of their wedding day preparation extravaganza. They ended up on a quaint café by the beach, the one where they used to hang out back in the day. Katie was prancing about in the sand while the three adults sat down and rested. Starfire took a last sip of iced tea before she removed her doll shoes and joined Katie.

"Do you want to chase some waves?" She asked the little girl whose eyes immediately lit up because of her suggestion. Katie nodded and dragged Starfire towards the shore.

Meanwhile, Raven and Robin just sat on the patio of the café and watched the two played by the water. Starfire was holding Katie's hand as they ran back and forth. Raven looked at Robin who had a look of longing in his eyes. "To think that could've been your daughter" Raven muttered. "Can you stop it? I'm guilty enough as it is!" He retorted as he sipped from his cup of Caramel Frappuccino. He continued to watch Starfire play with Katie. "Admit it Grayson, she could've been the perfect wife and mother." Raven said. Starfire carried Katie in her arms and spun around before facing their way. Katie waved at them with obvious joy in her face. "Yeah, she is the perfect wife and mother." Robin responded.

He continued to watch the two as they happily frolicked around the sand and water. He could picture it so vividly in his mind, Starfire and him along with their daughter on a day on the beach. He would set everything up, the chairs and umbrellas as he was rushed by his daughter who impatiently wanted to swim. Starfire would then take out their food she had prepared. They would chase each other, build sand castles and eat picnic food for the rest of the perfect day.

Maybe there was still hope in that kind of future. Maybe Robin wasn't too late.
