Disclaimer: JK Row. this ones for you girl.

I know I haven't posted in ages. Partly because my schedule has been CRAZY and partly because I've been focusing on my other story (Hallowed Variants.) I just came up with a bunch of ideas for DL so I thought I'd get back to writing it. I should be posting more frequently, but that's on the back burner for now. First off I'm going to go back and edit– because holy cow– I used to have the grammatical knowledge of a newly born Neanderthal. So now that I'm back I'm going to edit and all that jazz. Also I will be introducing new view points into the story now that we've all gotten nice and cozy with Rose.

Chapter 8

Tamsin

It was a frustrating day. First of all, I had to listen to the incessant Holland Vane recount her tedious summer to me. The only one of my roommates who tried to remain on good terms with me. I suspected it was because everyone else got annoyed with her and I hadn't told her in bugger off, in words at least. Unfortunately she was one of those people who couldn't survive in any sort of silence, no matter how comfortable. That, along with her need to chat non-stop about things that no one cared about, made for an unbearable combination.

The next annoying thing I encountered was when I realized that my school uniforms had not been washed since last term. So by the time the last annoying thing had rolled around, my mood was not in a good place. My annoying and tedious roommate asked me if Scorpius Malfoy was single.

"Now that James Sirius Potter and Marcus Grant aren't students here anymore, I need to set my sights on a new target!" Just forgetting the fact that it is downright tasteless to talk about my friend like he was a piece of meat, she was also overstepping her boundaries.

"I think he might still be seeing that girl from Durmstrang that he met last summer," I lied absent-mindedly while I used my wand to add a bit of life to my otherwise straight hair.

"Great," she huffed as she fell onto my four poster bed, not noticing my wince (I had just made it). "Now what am I supposed to do all year!"

"I'm sure you'll think of someone," I deadpanned. She hadn't picked up on the joke but instead playing with the tassel on my blanket.

"Who are you going to try and get this year?" She asked, perching her chin on her hand.

"No one," no one I planned on telling her about.

"But you're dead gorgeous Tamsin!" She said seriously, "I recon you could get any bloke if you tried, why don't you try anyways?"

After I curled my last section of hair I spun around with a fake smile plastered on my face, "I just got some cream with pixie dust in it if you wanna try it out. It's supposed to make your skin glow."

All thoughts of continuing our conversation left Holland's mind as she jumped up excitedly. "I heard it makes you look ten years younger too!"

Never mind the fact that, if that were the case, she would look about six.

Frank

Scorpius and I were both late to breakfast, but for different reasons. I laid on my bed with my feet kicked up on the end board and Scorpius was half dressed doing his morning push-ups. The rest of our roommates had left so we were free to go about our private business. Scorp's being his body, and mine being the blunt in my hand.

Scorpius got up and pretended to cough into his hand while sending a glare at my direction, which I pointedly ignored. "Do you have to do that on the first day of term?"

"The window is open," I said nodding towards the one next to my head. "It's not like you mind the smell."

"I do at seven in the morning," Scorpius bite back before grabbing his towel and strutting into the bathroom to shower. I rolled my eyes and continued to smoke. Scorpius could be a real pain in the ass when he was prancing around on his high horse. He'd calm down after he showering; I wasn't sure if it was the hot water or masturbating which did the job.

Objectively speaking I could see his point, it may be irresponsible to smoke right before classes. But at this point my, system was so used to the weed that it hardly affected me at all. It just took the edge off of the daily stresses: like shrieking professors and mindless school gossip. Whatever, Scorp would calm down after his wanky-panky and stop being such a tight-arse and join me tomorrow.

After a quick shower, Scorpius walked back into the room fully dressed. He bent down to pick up his books.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked over his shoulder. Evidently the shower had done its magic. "Tamsin should be in the common room."

"Sure," I had finished five minutes ago and had done a scouring charm to mask the smell and I jumped off of my bed and grabbed my books and quill. "Let's go."

We were all sitting in the Great Hall during lunch. We'd all studied for breakfast because all of my mates were raging nerds who studied before the term officially started. I sat bored, looking around for a new conversation piece. I caught sight of Holland Vane who was furtively glancing at our end of the table, she had skipped out on the neck tie today and had her shirt unbuttoned considerably, giving the entire Great Hall a great view of her-

"-what are you gawking at Frank?" The ever observant Tamsin asked me.

My lips transformed into a sloppy smile and I leaned towards her and draped my arm over her shoulders. "I only have eyes for you my dear."

Tamsin shrugged my arm off her shoulders, "oh please you were practically having a stare down with Vane's cleavage. You should know that she'd probably go out with you. She's panting for a boyfriend."

I scoffed, "she was staring me down first and of course she would, I'm beautiful."

"She was actually looking at Scorpius," Tamsin replied while watching our blonde mate closely (who was reading his Arithmancy textbook, once again: raging nerd).

"Well, people are bound to stare if you spent twenty minutes a day on your hair," I joked. "So what do you say Scorp? Vane and you, you two could have a great couple name: Scromilda… or maybe just Vain since the name suits you so well too."

Scorpius sighed deeply and put down his book, "you do realize that the easiest way for me to end this conversation is by telling Tamsin you smoked a joint this morning?"

Tamsin spun in my direction with rage kindling in her eyes, "Frank, it better not be true!"

I poured the last of the pumpkin juice into my goblet and drank while avoiding her gaze. I felt her smack my arm.

"What are you doing with your life?" She asked. "I thought we agreed only once a week. It's the sixth year, you need to grow up."

"I'm doing fine in my classes. I don't need them anyways. I'm the best quidditch player in the school," I shrugged while continuing to drink from my cup. There used to be a time when I feared Tamsin's mama bear outbursts, but now they were mostly amusing.

"Oh really? What about Davis?" She asked, with her eyebrows raised. "I heard he tried out for the Wisborn Wasps and is being considered."

"Davis?" I scoffed, that prick could hardly hold the quaffle for more than a minute. Even if he was an issue, it wouldn't matter since I was a Seeker and he was a Chaser. "I'm going to try out over the summer. I'm not even in the seventh year yet."

"Neither is he, but he might be training with them over the summer," Tamsin retorted, crossing her arms. "I think I'm going to talk to Holland, Merlin knows she's less annoying than this conversation."

She huffed and got up to the other end of the table with the scantily clad Slytherin.

"What's her problem?" I asked turning to Scorpius. Who had finally placed his book down.

"I dunno," Scorpius responded. I thought about Tamsin's outburst, she was unbearable when she was in one of her moods. She was fit though, objectively speaking. She had porcelain skin and large brown eyes, the rest of her features were small and compact. She could easily be the fittest girl in our school. I would normally think it was Tabitha but she never did her hair or dressed well. I saw her sitting in the Ravenclaw table. She looked nice enough in her uniform but it was distinctly baggy. She was sitting next to her three friends, Louis (the Veela bloke), Camille (the tan blonde bird), and Rose (red haired girl Weasley).

Rose. When I looked at her, she looked fine enough. But she definitely wasn't the fittest. She was fitter than Holland Vane, who was in an animated conversation with Tamsin. Holland saw me staring and threw me a flirty smile. I sent one back and saw her face turn a deep red. She was fit enough, she had a great body at least. Very curvy.

Tabitha was fit as hell, but probably was too much effort to get. Holland Vane on the other hand was too eager. Half the work was already done when I sent her that smile. But Rose Weasley. She was fit, with nice enough face and a body that I couldn't really decipher from under her layers of uniform. She was smart, which could be interesting. I'd never had my sights set on a smart girl before.

"What are you thinking about?" Scorpius asked me perplexed, I'd realized that I'd been silent for at least ten minutes. I was about to tell him my plan but something halted me. Scorpius already had half the girls in the school in the palm of his hand. He never tried to get with any of them but they just seemed to fall into his lap (metaphorically and literally). I usually shared my conquest ideas with him, but whenever I did he seemed to find it amusing. Condescending, a voice in my mind muttered.

"Nothing mate, just thinking about kicking Crabbe off the team. I heard a rumor she hardly flew over the summer," I said slapping him on the back. "Poor girl probably broke her broom in half."

A group of her friends who were not too far down the table overheard my comment and sent death glares at me. I grinned thinking how, even though they all told each other I was an asshole: I had snogged two of them and had shagged the other (twice.) Life was good when everything was going according to plan, and Rose Weasley was number one on my list this term.
