Defender ch 7
Silver Flight felt a hard impact against a cold hard surface then felt two bodies fall on top of him. Groaning in pain he managed to shove Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle off of him. Silver Flight looked around but could only see black.
"my head," mumbled dashes voice in the darkness.
"everypony, all right?" came Twilights.
"Yeah, I think so," Silver Flights voice resounded. The three of them huddled close to each other so they knew where everypony was in darkness. Suddenly they heard a maniacal laughter. It echoed off the walls and sounded it was coming from everywhere. A light pierced the darkness and focussed on a figure in front of them. He was a white unicorn stallion with red mane and tail. His crimson eyes focussed on the trio.
"greetings dear brother, do you remember me? Though if you don't I'll completely understand, after all I have heard that you seem to be suffering from a bad case of amnesia," he said almost casually but still held a strong sense on maliciousness, "but then again I was sort the one who caused it. So I'll introduce my self, my name is fallen star, the most powerful unicorn to exist, and after today I'll be the most powerful alicorn to ever live."
"what do you mean?" Twilight half shouted. Suddenly Rainbow Dash shot past her.
"I can take him," she yelled out as she charged at him. Before Silver Flight could say a word of warning, Fallen Star's horn glowed with a sharp white energy. The energy formed into lightning bolts and hit Rainbow Dash. The Pegasus mare convulsed as the energy passes through her body. After what seemed like an eternity Rainbows body fell to the floor unconscious. Before any of them could react robotic arms emerged from the walls and ceiling grabbed the three and threw them into a cage.
"you see my power is unmatched, and with my army of robots I shall take over this entire planet." Fallen star stepped back into a machine. It's gears and pistons came to life. Out of it emerged a pair of mechanical wings which then where placed over his shoulders. Wires shot out of the wings and connected to the ports that where imbedded in his body. The white unicorn gritted his teeth as the new bionic limbs were joined to his body.
Fallen Star stepped out and spread out his new wings. The metal feather glinting and shining in the light. "like them, I just finished building them." he then used his magic to press a button. The arm came out of the walls and roof again and grabbed the cage and moved out of the room and into a dark shaft.
Silver Flight and Twilight Sparkle regained their bearings in dimly lit room. Rainbow Dash still hadn't regained consciousness. Twilight got to work mending her wounds. Suddenly they heard a voice come from a dark corner of the room. "Defender?" the pegasus and unicorn looked towards the corner and saw a figure sitting there. It soon stood up. It did not stand on four legs like a pony but on it's hind legs. It stumbled into light, leaning on the wall. Torn clothing hung from its body, and a tangled mane hung from it's head. Silver Flight could see now that the being was a male. "is that you?, it is!" he lunged himself at the blue pony wrapped his arms around him.
Silver Flight pushed him with his hoof, " who are you?"
The beings expression saddened, "You don't remember me? I'm your father, your creator,"
Silver Flight returned with a blank stare, "no, I don't. All I know is that I woke up in crater with no idea of who I was or how I got there, only to be found by a group of ponies willing to help me rediscover my identity. Then battled a giant metal cat/bird thing only to find out that I am not a normal pony, I also know that some pony or something has erased any and all memories from my head and the memories I do have are what lead me to this place, only to discover a crazy unicorn claiming to be my brother pretty much install a pair of metal wings in his body, then he dumped me here with something that that claims to be my father."
The beings expression turned neutral and took a long deep breath in and exhaled. He then sat himself down, "I guess I should explain,"
"explain what?"
"the reasons behind your existence and every thing that is going on here. As you can see I am not a pony, I am a human from the planet earth," Silver Flight and Twilight Sparkle listened on not daring to interrupt, " even though we did not have the use of magic or any thing of the like,The human race was a highly technologically advanced race, we had mastered deep space travel and with that our empire grew we eventually conquered and inhabited other planets. We were well on our way to being one of the most powerful races in the galaxy.
But that, like everything else in this universe, did not last. An other race just as powerful and advanced as us feared that we humans would take their place in the universe. They attacked us, they started with the outer most planets of our empire and decimated them. They took no prisoners and left no survivors. They called themselves the Zhaar. After several decades of fighting the human race was left in ruins. Only pockets of humans lay scattered across the galaxy.
I found my self the one lone survivor of the Gaian colonies, I found a ship and set out to find more human survivors of the war. But I was ambushed by the Zhaarians. I managed to escape but my ship was heavily damaged and was forced to land on the nearest habitable planet."
"This planet," said Twilight Sparkle.
"yes, but the ship was damaged to the point that it would never travel again. That was over forty years ago. I managed to send out exploratory probes and satellites to take a look at the flora and fauna around here. To my amazement I discovered that this planet harboured it's own intelligent life and had life eerily similar to earths. Soon afterwards I had an epiphany. Since I am stranded on this planet and am now to call it home, I would do all that i to protect it and it's inhabitants.
This world would needed a defence mechanism. I knew that a gun or bomb would do no good against the Zhaar. This world needed something to protect it, defend its inhabitants, something with a heart, a soul. A living being that would not go down with out a fight.
So using my probes and satellites, I watched you ponies and studied your habits and behaviours. I also picked out the fastest of pegasi, the most powerful of unicorns, and strongest of earth ponies. I gathered their genetic information and compiled a genetic 'library' of sorts. I then took the best traits of all of them and using my knowledge of nanotechnology, i had created a being comprised of magic and technology, a unicorn pony, I had named protector.
he was naturally talented with magic and very powerful, just as i had wanted him to be, excited by my results, i created another pony, this time a pegasus,"
"me," said Silver Flight
"yes. A first it was a dream come true, me and my two sons. I did my best to teach you and protector how to use your abilities and such for when the Zhaar attacked,"
"so what happened?" asked Silver Flight . Before the human could answer, a flash back racked the blue Pegasus' mind.
He was walking down the corridor when he heard yelling. He tracked the source of it down to fathers laboratory. He noticed the door was open and took a peak inside. He saw his brother and his father arguing over something. He perked his ears and listened in.
"I can't believe it you told them our location!" yelled his father, "do you have any idea what you've done?!"
"yes I do actually, and soon I'll be stronger than ever before," he turned his attention to the door, "and i see we have an eaves dropper. " his horn glowed and pulled the Pegasus into the room, and then closed the door behind him. The blue Pegasus looked at his brother confused what's going on brother?"
"ah so nice of you to join us," said the unicorn using his magic to close the door behind silver flight. Silver Flight looked at his brother, "me and father were just discussing a few issues,"
"ISSUES!" roared his father, "you gave the Zhaar the location of this planet! You've put this entire planet in harms way not only that but but all those who live here are in danger. "
"What?"Silver Flight gasped
Silver Flight snapped back to reality and saw Twilight Sparkle looking at him. "did you have another flashback,"
"yeah," Silver Flight blinked dizzily and proceeded to tell the about it. He asked what happened after.
The earthling looked at the blue pegasus, "soon after fallen hit you with a spell, you attacked back and I managed to open a hatch and pulled Fallen off of you. I ordered you to go to Equestria and warn the princesses of the coming danger, at first you refused to leave me behind but I convinced you to go. Fallen star managed to cast that amnesia spell just as you escaped. He also subdued me with his magic and proceeded to unleash that drone to chase you down. and i think you can puzzle together the rest,"
"what happened?" Rainbow Dash groaned as she regained consciousness.
"many things rainbow" answered Silver Flight, "many things,"
