Tommy tried to hide the disappointment on his face as he woke to find Tara gone,he didn't hide it quickly enough; His group of friends sat across the room and beside the bed where Taranna had been sat Kimberly, who was somewhat taken aback by the look of disappointment on his face. She blinked and shook her had as it rapidly changed into a broad smile.
"Glad you made it back guys." His words were cheerful but Jason detected the undertone of sadness.
"So how's it going dragon bait?" Jason Cracked a huge grin and a chuckle.
Not bad I guess, still hanging in there. Seems i'll be back on duty after about 6 weeks." He tried to sound somewhat cheerful but they knew he'd rather be helping them find that dragon.
The conversations didn't get to far and awkward silence seemed to hang in the air until Kimberly found the Star and turned it over in her hands, the think that caught her eye was the back of the star which Tommy had not looked at. It was a carefully stylized panther and an oriental dragon making up the sides of a yin yang; the white panther's eye was black and the black dragon's eye was white. Kim stared at it hard for a long time before she let out a shrike and dropped it to the floor.
" IT'S BLEEDING!" She pointed at the fallen star and everyone blinked at her in surprise, to them the star remained as it had been when she was holding it a simple origami star of white and black paper with the images on the back. However to Kimberly it continued to bleed, she twitched uncontrollably until Trini volunteered to walk her out of the room. Once she was outside Jason reached down pulled the star up and turned it over in his hands nothing seemed out of the ordinary to him so he handed it back to Tommy. He studied his friend carefully,deciding how to approach the questions he wanted to ask. Since Tommy had joined the rangers as green after his brush with Rita, he'd always been pretty open with the other rangers unless it was a unique situation which they had had a few of. Jason took a seat in the chair kim had been in and pulled the gift bag Taranna had left up from the floor. He pulled out the dragon figurine that was in the bag, and held it to the light. It was a beautiful clear crystal with just a hint of green added in areas, did she know he pondered.
" Who is she Tommy?" not missing a stride as he set the figurine down on Tommy's tray table and caught his friends eye looking for any hint. Tommy followed the figure till it came to rest on his tray table and he picked it up twisting in in his hand.
"Her name is Taranna, and she was at one time my girlfriend." He let out a small sigh as he set the dragon down and looked at the star before spilling his whole history of him and Tara to the guys assembled in the room focused on his every word.
Kimberly and Trini had long since left the hospital grounds, and were walking to the Youth Center where they had agreed to meet the boys after they were done with Tommy, Kim's trembling and fear had left her by this time but something else had taken it's place a jealous rage, who the hell did this girl think she was messing with Tommy.
