-0000-
War.
The terrible armed conflict between two different sides. The horrid moment in history where so many lives are lost and innocent blood is shed.
That was what Chiro was in right now.
Granted, that this was very minor to the ones Chiro had been in, it still oddly enough held the same fierceness as any battle did.
Together with his good friend Tim, the two crept their way through the halls of the Fun House, ready for battle.
This… Was a Nerf Fun War.
"It is quiet," Tim mumbled.
"Too quiet," Chiro corrected with a hiss, lifting his gun up, just to be safe. Reaching the end of the hall, Chiro glanced back to make sure they weren't being followed.
When it seemed safe, they moved on.
Turning the corner Chiro was surprised to see a foam bullet coming his way. With quick reflexes he bent back, the bullet barely grazing the side of his face. Falling to one knee he lifted his gun up, pointing to who ever it was that shot at him.
Tim ducked back behind the corner, peeking around to see who exactly the enemy was.
"Man, I missed." Sky, the girl who had fallen through the ceiling when he first met her this morning, mumbled, pointing her gun at Chiro's forehead.
"Hey Sky." Chiro nodded. The two dove for one another, firing wildly in attempts to strike the other down.
"Chiro! I'm heading out!" Tim called to them, "You got this?!"
"Yeah! Go!' he commanded, motioning with his gun for Tim to move.
"You're not getting away!" Sky yelled, lifting her Nerf Gun up to shoot the unexpected Tim in the back as he ran down the other hall.
"Like I'd let you!" Chiro ran forward, kicking out to take out her knees. She whined and fell to the ground, whirling around to shot him in the face.
She was only a few seconds too late, for Chiro was already upon her.
"Got ya now Sky!' the young hero laughed. Sky let out a shriek of surprise as Chiro tackled her, pointing his Nerf gun at her head. "Give up!" he commanded, pinning her down, the gun pressed to her head.
Gritting her teeth at how easily she had been caught she glared at him. Oh how disappointed Ashren would be if she learned she had been caught. Some movement behind Chiro caught Sky's attention though.
With a smirk, she looked up at him defiantly, "Never."
Chiro narrowed his eyes playfully; ready to fire when something suddenly tackled him away from his victim. Rolling around in a ball of people and limbs, Chiro managed to pull away.
A girl around the age of 14 had tackled him away from Sky, hiding her behind them.
Chiro tilted his head at the girl. The tips of her long blond hair were blue, intensifying her ice-cold blue eyes that glared at him,
Geez, these kids really took their Nerf guns wars seriously.
Jumping to his feet he tilted his head, pointing his gun at her. He was stuck in some sort of show down. "What's your name?" he asked slowly as they began to circle each other, their eyes locked.
"Ray." The girl answered with a hiss.
Chiro had remembered Meghan mentioning Ray's name before. She must have been Sky's friend and had come to her aid.
"Who are you?" Ray grumbled.
"Chiro."
Recollection sparked in her eyes. "From the Hyper Force?" she asked, almost in awe.
"That's me." He nodded.
"Oh well, nice to me ya." The two charged.
Yeah… this place was intense.
-0000-
"I demand release." Sky announced as Chiro dragged his two new tied up hostages through the halls.
"You've asked that many times now. The answer will always be 'no' just like every time before." Chiro answered simply, looking down the hall. Smiling at the sight of Tim together with Aria and a few other kids.
"Tim!" Chiro called.
Whirling around, Tim gawked at the sight of Chiro walking calmly around the corner, dragging two tied up girls behind them.
Both of the girls, Ray and Sky he believed, were scowling, clearly not please.
"Dude, you got hostages?" Tim laughed. It was too good to be true.
"Yeah… are we not supposed to do that?" Chiro asked, his eyes wide, ready to make up for his mistake. "Cause I mean… whoops, sorry." He looked down at Sky and Ray, who glared at him.
"Are you kidding?" Aria jumped forward. "This is awesome! Hostages are great!" she patted Chiro on the back. "You were right Tim, he is good!'
Tim nodded. "Told ya." He grinned.
Chiro, feeling a bit proud in himself, chuckled. "It was nothing." He smirked.
"I say it is pretty amazing." The three red team members jumped at the sound of a new voice. Whirling around, expecting to see a blue, they were surprised to find Rain, chuckling at them.
'Rain!" they grinned.
"Hey Kiddos," Rain smiled. "Mind if I join?"
"Rain is on our side!" Tim cheered. Rain grinned, and looked down on the two hostages, Sky and Ray.
"So girls, seems you've been caught," the house head kneeled down to their level with a smirk of victory.
"Don't get to cocky Rain. We still have Ashren on our side," Ray pointed out.
"Oh yes that is very true. However, we have a secret weapon on our side,"
The two younger teens blinked, not sure what secret plan Rain was concocting. What ever it was though, it couldn't be good.
Rain, although very nice, could be very dangerous and cunning if she needed to be.
-ooo-
Ashren narrowed her eyes dangerously. "So, our house head has joined the battle eh?" she mumbled to herself, looking down the hall to Rain, who just ducked into a room with Chiro, Aria and Tim, who were dragging Ray and Sky along as their hostages. With those three (Rain Chiro and Aria) all on the same team, Ashren knew that would cause some problems. Especially if she wanted to win.
"What do we do?" next to her, 16-year-old Maya spoke up. She had shoulder length wavy electric blue hair that she had died a few weeks before with purple streaks framing her face. Her eyes were emerald green, shinning intently with a competitive glint.
She was Ashren's second in command.
"Good question Music geek." Ashren nodded. Ashren gave Maya this nickname do to the fact that Maya was very skilled in computers and often played her violin in the halls of the Fun house.
Turning around, Ashren rubbed her chin. Smirking, an evil plot appeared in her head. "Get me, the twins." She chuckled darkly.
With no time wasted, the twins had been called into battle.
They were 16 years old, and one of the smartest kids in the whole house. Great rumors and legends had actually been made up about these two for single handedly out smarting everyone, excluding Rain. You couldn't get away with anything when that girl was involved. That didn't stop Ashren from trying, but still.
Anyway, Ashren could do nothing but compliment the twins and their brains.
Their names were Jayson and Samantha. They were 16 years old and were never seen apart from one another.
Though these two were twins, the only things that were similar about them were their noses, and height.
Samantha had long bleach blond hair and sparkling green eyes. While her brother Jayson, had short brown hair and blue eyes.
"Welcome, Twin nerds." Ashren nodded in respect.
Jayson rolled his eyes at Ashren's nickname for them. "What is it you need Ashren?" they asked together.
"We are in need of your help." Ashren motioned down the hall, towards the opposite team. "I know I don't often ask for help, but they have Rain and Aria on their team. And from what I can tell, Pudding Cup is also with them."
The twins glanced at each other. "What is in it for us?" they smirked identical smirks.
Ashren blinked, rubbing her chin. "Uh…. Um…"
Maya stepped in. "I wont beat your faces in?" she said coldly. Ashren clasped her hand on Maya's shoulder.
"She has a good offer. No one likes death wishes." She grinned. The twins folded their arms, staring at them blankly.
"Right, didn't think so." Ashren sighed. "Alright Twin nerds, I'll let you borrow my strategy book that I keep in my room."
The two perked up, instantly agreeing.
-000-
"Anyone else notice how the Blue team hasn't appeared for a while?" Tim frowned, peeking outside the door.
"Yeah, it is weird." Aria agreed.
"Maybe they went to go grab a snack?" Sky suggested dully, still tied up to Ray and leaning against the wall.
"With Ashren as the team leader, they probably did." Ray agreed, watching with boredom as a couple of dust speaks floated around the front of her face.
"And they went without us. So un-cool." Sky sighed.
"Dinner shall be ready soon." Rain smiled at them.
"What's for dinner?" they both perked up.
"Pizza."
"Whoop-!' They would have pumped their fists, but they quickly realized they were still tied down. Blinking a few times, they kicked their feet up. "Whoop!"
Rain chuckled.
"Hey! Reds!"
Chiro lifted his head when someone called out his team colors. Looking at Tim, they both frowned and looked outside the door, ready for an attack.
Seeing no one with a Nerf gun waiting for them, they frowned. Looking both ways down the hall, they spotted to kids.
They stood alone, and unharmed towards the left side of the hall.
"Are they blue?" Chiro asked.
Tim's eyes widened. "That isn't fair!" Tim whined when he was able to see who the two were. "They can't use the twins against us!"
Chiro, pouting at being ignored, looked to the two new comers confused. "The twins?" he asked.
"They are the smartest kids in the house." Aria began to explain, stepping out into the hall, preparing her Nerf Gun.
"And they are using a full combat unit strategy." Rain whistled. "They smart little cookies."
"A full combat unit? What does that mean?" Chiro looked to Tim and Aria, who paled slightly.
"This isn't good." Tim whispered.
"Would someone explain what is going on?" Chiro sighed in frustration. Suddenly, the rush of many footsteps caught his attention. Looking back at the twins, his eyes widened in slightly horror when dozens of Blue member kids came rushing from the corners, making a miniature army.
An Army that was heading straight towards them.
"Retreat!" Aria grabbed Tim's arm, yanking him back. Whirling around, Chiro sprinted after them, Rain right behind.
"Bye Sky, Ray! You are no longer hostages!" Rain screamed into the room where they had left them.
'WHOOP!" they cheered at the sound of their team rushing towards them.
Sprinting around the corner, the four Red members screamed when the Blue team began to fire at them.
"Where is the rest of our team?" Chiro demanded, ducking left and right to avoid being hit.
"Most likely towards the South end." Rain rubbed her chin in thought, not looking too panicked with the situation. Taking another corner, the group froze to find another group of Blue members waiting for them.
"They are just sprouting out from the ground, aren't they!?" Aria grumbled angrily, pushing Tim and Chiro into another hall quickly, the Blue team right on their tail.
When they reached the end of the hall, they froze to find it was a dead end, leading to two different room. Each that would trap them inside, with no way to go.
"Should we go into a room and barricade ourselves in?" Tim questioned, panicked at the sound of approaching Blue's.
"What good would that do? It is basically a surrender." Aria argued.
"Then we stand our ground?" Chiro lifted his gun.
"I like that plan." Rain smiled, lifting up her own Nerf Gun.
Tim and Aria looked at each other, nodding agreement. "Then this," Tim took a dramatic breath. "Shall be our final battle."
"May it be legendary." Aria looked to the ceiling for affect.
Rain chuckled at the two. "Our names shall go down in the history books."
"Well hey, that isn't fair though." Tim lowered his gun with a pout. "Chiro gets to be in the history books twice then."
Chiro frowned, looking over his shoulder at Tim. "What do you mean?"
"Well, you are already part of the hyper force. That gives you instant History book info. Then you get put down for being in this battle? So unfair." Tim explained.
"Hey yeah." Aria frowned. "That isn't fair Chiro."
Chiro lifted his hands up in semi-defeat. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?"
"Surrender."
"What?! Never!"
Rain laughed again. "How about we focus on them?" she mused, pointing down the hall at the Blue Members who charged towards them. Ashren lead the group, smirking. There were at least 25 Blue members behind her as she casually approached them. Within the group were the twin, Maya, and their previous hostages, Ray and Sky. Who both required pay back and glared at Chiro, their target. He gulped a bit, smiling nervously at them.
"Well well, looks like you four have no where to go." Ashren cooed.
"This isn't over Ashren." Aria glared at her.
"I believe it is. You see, we searched this whole upper floor. None of the other Red members were found. You are the only four left." Ashren cackled.
"W-What?" Tim sputtered. "But- they wouldn't just leave!"
"But they did." Sky twirled her gun. "Cause they are no where else in this floor."
"Seems they were the ones to go get a snack." Ray lifted her gun, pointing it at Chiro.
Ashren held her hand out to stop them, as if silently commanding them to wait for her signal. "A battle like this is rather unfair though, isn't it? 25 against 4? Unfair indeed."
Tim and Chiro glanced at each other, not sure what Ashren was up to.
"So, how about you all surrender?"
"Never!" they all yelled.
Ashren smirked, at if she wanted them to say that. "Very well then. I have no choice-" she lifted her hand, readying her troop to fire.
"You're right though." Rain suddenly called out, interrupting her. "25 to 4 is unfair." Everyone stopped to stare at the house head. "So, how about we even the odds?" Rain suddenly smirked.
Ashren, flinching a bit at the look, narrowed her eyes. "You… have no other red team members to turn to though." She mumbled.
Rain stepped forward a bit, her smirk never faltering. "Oh, don't I?" She lifted her hands, as if she were about to give a signal.
Chiro's eyes widened when he heard the two doors next to them click, as if someone was coming out.
"You see Ashren, I knew you would use the twins. So I prepared myself ahead of time."
The red head's eyes widened in horror, "You didn't."
"I did."
Throwing her hands down, the two doors flew open, and several dozen of red team members came piling out, guns a blazing.
"WHOA!" Tim gasped at the sight.
"She double strategized us!' Ashren gasped, screaming when bullets impaled against her. The twins even looked shocked at the sight, and were unable to prepare themselves before they were hit to the ground by foam bullets.
Slowly Chiro lowered his gun, watching at the red team members chased the unsuspecting blue members out of the one wall hall and into the surrounding rooms/other halls.
"That- how did you-"
Rain winked. "My little secret." She chuckled. Chiro slowly smiled as Rain passed him to stroll casually down the hall.
"That girl… she never ceases to amaze." Aria mused.
Tim and Chiro nodded in agreement.
DOORBELL, DOORBELL, DOORBELL.
The whole hall seemed to freeze, listening to the sound of kids below that there was someone at the door.
Rain lifted her head, quickly moving towards the stairs. "I leave the rest to you three!' she called before she disappeared, allowing the battle to continue.
-000-
After reaching the bottom floor, Rain rushed for the front door, swinging it open to greet her guest. "Hello." She smiled.
A 23-year-old woman stood before her. She had dark red hair that was pulled back into a tight ponytail and dark blue eyes.
"Hello." The women greeted.
"Can I help you?" Rain smiled.
The women smiled back. "My name is Emma Winsworth." She announced. "I am here to talk with the head of the house?" she trailed off.
"Oh, that would be me." Rain motioned for her to step in.
Leading the Emma inside, Rain sat her down at the table. "Would you care for a drink?"
"Yes please." Emma nodded, taking a good look of the house. "This house is quiet beautiful." She said softly
Rain grinned. "Thank you. The kids helped paint it."
Emma took the drink Rain handed her and nodded. "To be honest, I though of buying this house myself a few years ago."
Rain looked at her in surprise. "Did you now?"
Emma nodded. "I'm afraid someone, I'm assuming you, beat me to it." She chuckled a bit.
"Oh well actually, my friend Ashren bought this house for me. I'm surprised she had the money to do so." Rain sighed nostalgically. She paused, looking up at Emma with a tilt of her head. "Excuse me for asking, but your last name, Winsworth was it? I've heard it somewhere before."
Emma nodded. "Yeah, I'm the current owner of the company 'Winsworth Buildings'.
"Oh that is it." Rain was struck with realization. Winsworth Buildings was the company responsible for rebuilding Shugazoom whenever it was attacked. "You do amazing work. Thank you so much for all you've done with the city."
Emma chuckled. "Thank you. I'm happy to know that."
"I bet your never really have to worry about your companying going out of business, huh?" Rain joked a bit.
Emma laughed. "Yes indeed. As long as the city needs us, and is constantly under siege, we'll be there."
The two young adults shared a laugh.
"May I ask why you are here today though?" Rain inquired.
"Oh, yes, excuse my manners." Emma bowed her head. "You see I am here to-"
THUMP THUMP THUMP
The two paused at the sound of large stomping coming their way. Frowning, Rain could recognize those foot steps anywhere.
And, as if one cue, Ashren stomped into the kitchen, covered head to toe in foam bullets. Humming wildly she grabbed a cup, not even noticing the two women staring at her incredulously.
Getting some water, Ashren gulped it down, glancing at them for a split second before she looked back at her cup. Realizing there were people in the room, she looked at them in surprise.
"Oh…hey Rain." She held up her hand awkwardly.
Rain chuckled. "Hey Ashren." Realizing her manners, she motioned to Emma. "This is Emma Winsworth." She announced.
The red head froze, the cup fell from her hand and crashing into the floor. Rain jumped in surprise. "Ashren!"
"EMMA WINSWORHT!?" Ashren yelled, taking a step back in shock.
"Y-Yes?" Emma stammered, completely caught of guard by the younger adults' actions.
"Ashren." Rain scolded. "That was a perfectly good cup."
"Never mind your cuppy cup cup!"" Ashren yelled, her words mumbling together. "It is Emma Winsworth! THEE EMMA WINSWORTH!"
"Yes we have established that Ashren." Rain sighed, getting up to get a broom.
Ashren began to squeal loudly, fanning herself with her hand like a hyped up fangirl. "Oh my gosh! I am such a big fan!"
"You… are?" Emma asked slowly.
"Of course! You're amazing! I love all of your work! Brilliant! Just brilliant!" Ashren said in a British accent.
"Ashren, you aren't British." Rain sighed.
"Well not everyone can be British like you Rain." Ashren huffed, staring down at her as she began to clean the class shards.
"I'm not even that British." The house head mumbled.
"You are completely British! Completely!" Ashren argued, pointing an accusing finger at her. Rain opened her mouth to argue more when Jack entered the room, staring at the scene blankly.
"Jackie!" Ashren called desperately, using her ridiculous nickname for him. She jabbed a finger at Emma, her mouth wide. "It's Emma Winsworth!" she squealed.
Jack blinked once before turning away, and walking out of them room.
Letting out a gasp, as if insulted, Ashren stormed after him. "Don't just turn away from me Jackie!" Ashren screamed angrily. As the red head disappeared up the stairs after the clearly annoyed Jack, there was a long awkward pause.
"What was-" Emma trailed off, pointing at the stairs questionable.
"I don't know." Rain sighed brushing up the broken glass of the cup. "It is best not to question it." When her job was done, she lifted herself up to smile. "Now, what were you saying before?"
Emma blinked. "Oh right, I was just going to say, I've come here to discus donations with you."
Rain smiled. "I would love to donate. For what cause?" She moved towards the trash can, the tray filled with glass tightly in her grip.
"Oh, no. Not from you Ms. Darl." Emma grinned. "I wish to actually donate money to the Fun House."
The tray in Rain's hand slipped, luckily falling straight into the trash can as she stared at Emma with wide eyes.
…Donation? A Donation to here?
If Ashren wasn't freaking out before, she is definitely going to now.
