Hey guys. Here's the final chapter and it's about Mitsuki and Katsuki having a moment (mother/son bonding). Hope you like it! Enjoy.
Katsuki went back into the living room and sat on the couch. The room was silent, and it was fine by him. He was already irritated and now he has a headache thanks to Mineta.
"Well, I guess this is a good time to get something to eat. Why don't you boys go ahead into the kitchen," Mitsuki spoke up
"Sounds good and I am feeling hungry," said Denki
"Let's set up the snacks I brought," said Kirishima
Katsuki and the others got up and started to leave the living room. Suddenly Mitsuki grabbed Katsuki's hand which surprised him. He looked at his mother in confusion.
"Katsuki, I want to talk to you first," said Mitsuki
"Are you coming Kaachan?" asked Izuku
"He'll be there soon. You and the others can help yourselves to some pop-tarts if you like."
"Thanks auntie Mitsuki."
"ANY OF YOU EAT THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE POP-TART AND YOU'RE DEAD!" screamed Katsuki
"I'll make sure no one touches it," said Izuku
As Izuku left the living room, Katsuki sat back down on the couch next to his mother. Mitsuki picked up the baby photo album again and opened it to his newborn pictures. Katsuki just scoffed in annoyance.
"What do you want to talk about now old hag?" he asked
"First lose the attitude. The reason I had this out today was because I wanted to take a trip down memory lane," said Mitsuki
"They're just pictures. I don't understand why they're so important to you."
"They may be pictures to you, but to me they're precious. Someday you'll understand when you get married and have babies of your own."
"Oh you can forget that! There's no way in hell I'm getting married or having kids. The Bakugo cycle ends with me."
"Well that's too bad. I always liked the idea of becoming a grandma."
Katsuki just scoffed as Mitsuki turned a page in the baby photo album. They were silent for a few moments. Mitsuki sighed.
"Look Katsuki, I am sorry about what happened with your friends. At least now they understand and I'm sure your secret is safe with them too," she said
"Old hag I have to know something, were you disappointed that I didn't turn out to be a girl?" he asked
"Well maybe a part of me was."
"I see."
"But that doesn't mean I wasn't thrilled to have you. The minute I first saw you and held you in my arms, my heart just melted. Oh those nurses loved you too. I was told you were the cutest baby in the nursery."
"I just don't get it."
"Get what?"
"If you wanted a girl, how come you and dad didn't have any more kids?"
"Well I don't think your father wanted to experience the hassle of exchanging baby clothes and items again or risk having another boy."
Mitsuki turned another page of the baby photo album and began to show Katsuki his newborn pictures.
"I've already seen those," said Katsuki
"Come on, just look. I really thought this outfit was the cutest. Oh boy, did I have a time arguing with your father about taking this picture of you. He only agreed to it as long as I didn't put the hat on you," said Mitsuki
"There was a hat?" Katsuki questioned wide eyed
"Yes and I thought it was cute."
After a few minutes of looking at the pictures, Mitsuki finally closed the baby photo album and set it aside. She then took Katsuki in her arms which caught him by surprise. Before he had a chance to break away from her embrace, he felt something warm and wet fall on his face. He looked up to see his mother crying.
"What's wrong now?" asked Katsuki
"When I was told that kids grow up fast, they weren't kidding. I can't believe how much you've grown. It still seems like yesterday I was bringing you home from the hospital. Why does time have to be so cruel? I wasn't done holding you in my arms. I wasn't ready for you to grow up this quick. I miss those days and I wish I could relive them," Mitsuki cried
"Come on old ha….mom. I may have grown up, but it's not like I'm going to move out of Japan or anything."
"I just wish we did more things when you were younger."
"Okay mom, how about on my next day off we can go catch a movie or something."
"Are you sure your friends won't mind or find it uncool that you're hanging out with your mom?"
"Do you want to spend time together or not?"
"Yes, of course I do. I'd love that sweetie."
Katsuki then wrapped his arms around his mother. They continued to hug for a while. Mitsuki placed her hand on the back of Katsuki's head like she used to do when he was little. It made her feel like she was holding her baby in her arms again. A few minutes later, Katsuki joined the others in the kitchen. Mitsuki watched from the kitchen doorway as Katsuki was trying to get his snacks and protect his chocolate fudge pop-tarts from Kirishima. She smiled as she watched her son and his friends laugh & chat. These were moments Mitsuki cherished and loved creating memories from them. She pulled out her phone and took a quick picture before any of them noticed.
THE END
I had different ideas of how to end this, but I think I picked the best one. I know something like this wouldn't happen in the official manga/series. I just thought it would be nice for Mitsuki and Katsuki to have some bonding time. It may look like they can't stand each other but Mitsuki really does care about Katsuki. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the story.
