Chapter 9
Zoe stood up. "Nick?" She uttered, she could now see him. She got out of bed...
"Nick" she stuttered "is that you?"
"Its time isn't it" said Nick.
"No" cried Zoe "No"
"It is, you know it is" answered Nick tilting his head
"I thought all the questions would be answered but they aren't, I thought it would be so clear"
"Please move away Zoe, its not safe for you and Nicky here" sobbed Nick "I must go now, my work here is done, there's nothing more I can do"
The two of them moved their gaze to reception where two men were being arrested by the police "that's them" whispered Nick looking at Zoe "I must go now" he said looking towards a light that seemed to come from nowhere.
Zoe nodded "I'll miss you Nick, I love you, have always loved you"
"I wanted to be there for you" he now had tears streaming down his cheeks "what I'm leaving behind is so precious to me" he sobbed.
Zoe again Nodded "goodbye Nick, goodbye" she said with a smile looking into the light. Tears rolled down her cheeks, she couldn't believe what she had just seen, as she watched him walk into the afterlife...
