A/N: Life has been Grade-A crazy. Sorry 'bout that.
"Hey, Mack…" Jim softly knocked on her office door.
"Not now, Jim. I'm busy." With a wave of a hand, the words fluttered towards him. Mackenzie sat at her desk with her glasses and a pen, inking the evening's script copy. She was rearranging the order of the stories and needed focus. Not that she had much in the way of that, lately, with the ring sitting fit in her pocket.
"Uh, Will's looking for you and we need the copy as soon as possible." Jim tried slowly backing out of the office as Mackenzie held up a pen.
"Coming!" she chimed. She was nearly done anyway and the ache in her heart took over her body. He was three rooms over and she couldn't stand to be away from him for too long. "Read this while I check on Will." She gently shoved the paper in his chest and left her office.
"Hey, are you ready?" she nearly ran into him as he came through the door.
"As ready as you are," he winked and touched her shoulder. It wasn't much but the electricity surged between them leaving their skin prickly and warm.
After the Show
Mackenzie's black pumps pad away against the blue carpet. Her long legs barely covered by a black pencil skirt. She opens the door of Will's office and swings around, quickly closing it. She pulls the cord and closes the blinds, shutting out the rest of the staff.
Will is standing in front of his desk with a freshly lit cigarette. "Mac, what're you doing?" His breath is taken away whenever she walked into a room. His fiancé never sauntered, her steps demand respect and authority. Will absolutely adores it.
"Shhh..." Mackenzie pushes Will against the desk, forcing him to sit down, before nearly smashing her lips against his. Will reaches behind him to stub out the cigarette before grabbing her waist and pulling her in between his legs. She feels warm and soft. Her pale skin almost white against his tan hands. Blood rushes to his head as her perfume tickles his nostrils. He grabs her hand and entangles his fingers in hers.
"Put it on." His blue eyes shine with excitement. Mackenzie giggles and lowers her head. She pulls the ring out of her pocket and opens her hand, the ring sitting gently in her palm. Will picks up the ring and slides it on her ring finger. "Better," he whispers.
A knock comes at the door as it opens. "Good jo-oh, I'm sorry!" Jim catches the couple mid passionate kiss and hurriedly closes the door. The confused look on his face lasts only a second as he shakes his head and starts the journey home.
Mackenzie pushes her forehead into Will's shoulder. "God damn it," she mumbles.
Will chuckles. "Let's go home." He tosses his coat over his arm and grabs her hand.
"Shouldn't we say something?" Mackenzie's face wears worry and a little adoration.
"Nahhhh, he knows better. We'll deal with it tomorrow." The wrinkles in his forehead seemed to fade away as he smiled. He pulls her in for a quick kiss and he feels her grin against him.
Mackenzie giggles and pulls his hand. "Let's go!"
