Chapter 4: Suspicions
Arionna looked up and stumbled back. "What are you doing here?!" She demanded, stuffing all her emotions as far down inside of her as she could. She used to think she was so good at playing poker face but recently all the changes had left her nerves raw and ragged. "I could ask the same question to you." Aido managed to laugh out nearly doubled over. "Do you often walk into fixed objects? Last I checked those poles didn't move." Arionna stiffened. She was used to dealing with self absorbed jerks like these. It came with her birth. Why did this one cause her to become so unnerved? She didn't want to consider the answer.
Straightening up to her full height, she pulled her chin up and squared her shoulders. "Thank you for your overwhelming concern sir, but I am fine and will just be going on my way." She answered in her most acidic of tones, purposely sidestepping his japes at her inability to avoid fixed objects. Trying to sidestep around him, she was met with an outspread arm. "Hey where do you think you are going?" Aido asked smiling charmingly. "I couldn't possibly leave such a helpless girl to her own devices. Anyway haven't you heard? Monsters are said to wander around here at night." "The only monster I see here is you." Arionna snapped jerking back. Aido's face showed pure surprise for a split second before changing back to a smile, although admittedly a slightly more forced one. "Ouch, well I guess I won't be bothered with you then. Bye." Aido said lifting her arm away. Turning, he stalking away. "Last thing I need is another suspension anyway" Arionna heard him mutter to himself as he left.
"I wonder what that means?" Arionna thought as she aimlessly wondered through a pillared hall. It was a new rule to her that day and night class students weren't supposed to talk. It did seem highly discouraged but not really forbidden. The night class students were aloof enough though that it might as well be a rule she supposed. It could be a rule on the night class side though. But why? As far as she knew this was a normal earth type planet with no magical or unusual activity. They hadn't even really developed any form of efficient space travel yet. A quite place to live. That was exact reason why she had picked it. No one would be looking for one of her kind here.
A shadow unattached itself from a one of the columns. Walking toward her was a young man with bright green eyes and blond hair. He seemed vaguely familiar, although the fact he was wearing one of the night classes white uniforms made it easy to guess where she might have seen him before. What was his name? Naomi would know. Holding our his hand to her the boy gave her a enthusiastic smile. "Hello! Sorry about that. Aido isn't used to girls saying no. He's somewhat of a problem child." Arionna warily extended her hand too. This hand shaking was such an odd custom. "It's fine. There seem to be an awful lot of you about seeing as you have class right now." Arionna stated pointedly trying to pull away from his over exuberate handshake. Where was Naomi when you needed her? Naomi was so sweet and bubbly it was easy to fade into the background and let her take center stage. It was one of the highlights of being her friend. "Haha, it seems like that doesn't it! Well, for a day class girl isn't it a bit past curfew to be out? Don't worry I won't report you." Here the boy sighed and got a faraway look in his eyes. " Really it's the highlight of our days to meet one of you girls out her, but you know it would be better if you came to the scheduled meetings." Arionna stared at him oddly. What had given this boy the impression that she had wanted to meet a night class student? Couldn't a girl wonder around just for the sake of it?
"It was very nice to meet you but I am afraid I must be going." Arionna said primly turning back the way she had come. This night was becoming way to eventful for a cry fest. "Hey wait, If you ever need any help or if anything….concerns you just let me know ok?" The boy called out. "Of course, thank you so much for the offer." Arionna called coolly over her shoulder even though her legs were starting to shake from fear. There definitely was something going on here. This really was not good. Maybe it was time to leave before somebody got hurt.

It was been a long time! Hopefully I will start writing some more…not sure if I should rewrite the beginning chapters….they have a lot of mistakes and I wrote them when I was pretty young. Tell me what you think! ^_^
