A/N: Wow, okay, I'm so sorry this took almost a month and a half to write ugh. But after a long wait, here it is; the last chapter. :)
(Also, apologizing in advance for my crap ability to write 'romance' scenes).
Rose's eyes flickered open and she instantly shivered. There was a blanket on top of her that hadn't been there before, but it was thin, and it didn't offer much warmth. Yawning, she sat up on the couch and looked around. The Doctor was nowhere to be seen, however, there was light streaming through his door, which was open just a crack. Frowning, she reached over to the coffee table and picked up a cell phone (who it belonged to, she had no idea). The time read three thirty. What was he doing awake at three thirty in the morning? Judging by the sounds from his room, he was moving things around. Sighing, she stood up and half stumbled, half dragged herself to his door, pushing it open.
The room was scattered in old clothing and there was a suitcase on top of his bed which was lying open. Several pieces of clothing was packed into it. The Doctor was halfway under his bed, only his legs showing. Rose's breath caught in her throat and worry flooded her mind. Had something happened while she had been asleep?
"Doctor?" She asked uncertainly, stepping into the room. The Doctor made a muffled gasp of surprise and, obviously trying to sit up but forgetting he was under a bed, jerked up and hit his head on the top of the bed frame. Rose rolled her eyes, snickering. Muttering something under his breath, the Doctor wriggled out from underneath the bed, and his eyes settled on her form. His face lit up in a huge grin and he was by her side in a matter of seconds, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her up into the air. Her feet dangled, unable to reach the ground as he smothered her face in soft kisses before planting a kiss on her lips, still smiling.
"Whoa there, Tiger," Rose laughed when he finally placed her down. He was still grinning.
"Tiger? Is that what I am now? A tiger? Tigger? I used to love Winnie the Pooh..." He frowned suddenly, shrugged, and turned around again, pulling a shirt from a drawer. It had flowers printed all over it, like the Hawaiian shirts in the movies. "What do you think?" He turned to her, smirking. "Keep? Or weep?"
"Oh my God," Rose choked out, laughing. "Weep. Definitely weep." The Doctor looked the shirt over once more before shrugging and throwing it into a box on the other side of the room. He turned back and started to dig through the drawer once more. Rose bit her lip, rubbing the side of her arm uncertainly.
"Uhm... Doctor? Is everything okay?"
The Doctor's head jerked back up and he grinned widely. "Everything's perfect, Rose. Molto bene!" He tossed a shirt behind him, into his suitcase. Rose raised an eyebrow, feeling nervous butterflies flutter in the pit of her stomach.
"You're... packing..."
"...Yeah."
"Why?" Rose asked quickly, meeting the Doctor's eyes, her expression one of fear. He smiled reassuringly.
"Steve came and talked to me while you were sleeping," he said, picking something up from his shelf and toying with it in his hands.
"And..?"
"And, well, he's not firing me."
"Then why are you packing?"
"He's not firing me," the Doctor repeated. "But he's suspending me."
"What?"
The Doctor shrugged and zipped up his suitcase. "There's a motel or something he wants me to stay at. It's about an hours drive from here."
"But you'll be coming back, yeah?" She asked, stepping forward. The Doctor smirked at her and nodded, but he said nothing else as he sat down on the edge of his bed and rubbed his eyes sleepily. He had dark circles underneath his eyes. "When did you wake up?" Rose asked softly, edging forward and sitting next to him on the bed. His arm curled around her waist and he pulled her against him, kissing her hair softly and taking a deep breath.
"I think it was two," he mumbled, his eyes half closed. "After Steve woke me up, I couldn't fall back asleep 'n... so I though' 'd start...packing," his words were slurred together. He let out a huge yawn and slowly fell backwards onto his bed, bringing Rose down with him. "Nuh-night," he mumbled, kissing her again before pulling her close to him again and wrapping his arms around her. Rose snorted in amusement, but snuggled close to him, closing her eyes. It was only a matter of minutes before sleep washed over her.

Rose sighed when she woke up. The Doctor was curled, almost protectively, around her and their legs were tangled together. A thick blanket was draped over the top of both of them. In short, Rose was hot. Groaning, she rolled over to get away from the Doctor's arms. She gasped as the bed suddenly disappeared beneath her and she dropped to the ground, whacking her head on the wood floor. From above there was a muffled 'wha?'.
Rose sat up quickly, embarrassment flooding through her. She stumbled to her feet, rubbing the back of her head. The Doctor's eyes rested on her. Instantly, a smile appeared on his face. Rose couldn't help but smile back, knowing the fact that she was the reason for that smile. "Morning," he said drowsily, dragging himself into a sitting position and raking a hand through his hair.
"Morning," she laughed, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. Her eyes drifted around the room and her heart sunk as she remembered that the Doctor was being suspended. "How long are you gonna be gone?" She asked, backing up until her back touched the wall and she used it for support. The Doctor had one leg sticking out off the bed and the other folded underneath the other. His hair stuck up in every direction (which Rose thought was both adorable and sexy).
"A few weeks. Three or four, I think?"
Rose frowned, calculating that in her head. "But... that means when you come back there will only be two weeks left of camp."
"Yeah," he sighed. Rose rolled her eyes, shaking her head.
"He expects you to stay at a hotel for three weeks?"
The Doctor shrugged and hauled himself to his feet. Yawning, he raised his arms above his head in a stretch. Rose's eyes flicked to the bit of skin revealed when his shirt lifted and she smirked. "Enjoying the view?" The Doctor teased lightly, crossing the room towards her and resting his hands on her hips.
"I'd be a fool not to," Rose giggled, causing the Doctor to smirk. Rose flashed him her tongue-in-teeth grin as she stood up on her tip-toes, looping her arms around his neck. His hands moved to wrap around her waist and he tugged her closer to him. Rose pressed her lips to his, savoring the feeling of his usually cold lips against her warm ones, knowing that after today, she wasn't going to be able to do this for a long time. He smiled against her lips, kissing her back lightly. Rose's fingers gripped his hair as she pressed her body against his, her heart starting to race. He deepened the kiss, pressing her against the wall before dropping his head to kiss her jaw.
Suddenly, there was a rattling at the door. They both jumped apart as the door opened and Kaylee poked her head in. She grinned. "Morning, lovebirds! Doctor - time for you to get packing. Rose, come help me," and then she was gone. Rose rolled her eyes in amusement. The Doctor snickered and kissed her once more before Rose left to find Kaylee.

Rose stared at a piece of popcorn on the table her head was was rested on. She was sitting in the kitchen with Clara. Sighing, she reached forward, flicking the piece of popcorn across the table, which landed in Clara's hair. Rose mumbled her apology as Clara lifted her head from the table. She brushed the piece out of her hair, then tossed it into the trash.
"It's fine," she sighed, rubbing her head. "God, I'm so bored. I wonder when Matt's getting here..."
"Matt?"
Clara's face lit up and she lifted her head, clearly delighted Rose had asked. "My boyfriend. He's a dork. Floppy hair, fascinated with bowties, fetish for fezzes. Everyone thinks he's a bit odd- especially the Doctor. But I mean... he's my dork. S'pose that's how you feel about the Doctor, huh?"
Rose smiled, lifting her head up from the table as well. "Yeah, it is."
Clara pursed her lips, sitting back in her chair and folding her arms. "I think it's stupid. What Steve is doing, I mean."
"That makes two of us."
It had been two hours since Rose had left the Doctor, and she hadn't seen him since. She felt uncomfortable being away from him; she couldn't imagine how she was going to be away from him for three weeks. She'd grown used to staying by his side and being elsewhere just felt... wrong. It made her feel empty. Sighing, Rose ran her hands over her face, her head starting to hurt. The two of them looked up just as there was a knock at the door. Rose's face lit up as the Doctor poked his head in, flashing them both a grin.
"Hey! Matt's here."
Instantly, Clara was on her feet and out the door. Rose smiled and stood up a little more slowly, strolling towards the Doctor. "M' lady," he greeted her with a wide grin. Rose curtsied, chuckling under her breath. He shook his head before saying, "come on. I think you'll like Matt."
They walked outside, hands clasped together in a tight grip. Clara was hugging a man who looked to be in his late twenties or early thirties. Like Clara had described, the man had floppy brown hair that was swept to the side, and he wore a red bow tie, a tweed jacket with red suspenders, black pants, and black shoes. Rose smiled in amusement, studying the man as he picked Clara up off her feet and spun her around. He set her down and she ruffled his hair, laughing. Rose glanced up at the Doctor. "Where did they meet?"
"An amusement park, according to what they say. They got seated in some ride that was mean to make you feel like you were in the clouds. When they got down, they got locked in a police public call box."
"A what?"
"Telephone booth from the 1960's."
"How did they get locked in that?"
"Absolutely no idea," the Doctor snickered, then suddenly darted towards Matt and Clara. Rose stumbled behind him, gripping his hand tightly and trying not to lose her balance. Matt turned to face them when they came to a stop, his face lighting up.
"Hey ho!" He jumped a little, stretching his arms out wide as if he was going to hug the both of them. He didn't however. Matt's gaze settled on Rose and he smiled, putting his arms at his sides. "Hello! Haven't seen you before. You a part of the staff?"
Rose opened her mouth to reply, but the Doctor cut her off. "Nah, what fun is it, working with the staff?" He slung his arm around her shoulder, grinning down at her. "Matt, meet Rose Tyler."
"Rosssse Tylller," Matt drawled out, as if testing it on his tongue. "Lovely name- one of the best." His gaze flickered to Clara and he smirked. "Course, yours is better." Clara just rolled her eyes and bumped her shoulder with his. Rose chuckled, running a hand through her hair. She jumped when Matt's hand suddenly shot out. "Is this the part where we shake hands?"
Rose stuck her hand out, shaking Matt's. "I think it is, yeah."
Matt smirked and dropped his hand to his side. "You almost ready to leave?" He asked the Doctor, mirroring his actions by putting his arm over Clara's shoulder.
"Oh," Rose's heart dropped. "Are you the one driving him?"
"Yeah," Matt cast her a look of sympathy. "I'll be taking his job while he's out learning not to break rules," Matt frowned. "That'll never happened."
The Doctor chuckled, then nodded. "Yep," he said popping the 'p' as he took a step away from Rose. "I'll just get my bag." He turned to Rose. "Is it okay if I leave you out here with that?" He said jokingly, gesturing to Matt. Matt stuck his tongue out and grinned. Rose giggled and nodded.
"Just hurry back, yeah?" She asked hopefully. He nodded, pressing a kiss to her hair before he swirled around on his heels and started towards his cabin. Rose turned back to Matt.
"You got locked in a police box," she said, hoping for a story. Matt grinned and Clara snorted.
"Oh, yeah, brilliant story that is," he said, leaning in closer. "Wanna hear it?"
"Definitely," Rose replied.
XXX
It took Matt all of five minutes to explain the whole story, but Rose was grinning the whole was through, as was Clara.
"And you called it... what? The police box, I mean?" Rose asked once he was done.
"The TARDIS. T-A-R-D-I-S. Stands for The Amazing, Ridiculous Day I Saw, and in parentheses, her. Because, you know, TARDISH doesn't sound as good. Sounds like a mix of tar and a dish and that's...icky."
Clara gave him an odd, but affectionate look, then stood up on her tiptoes (Rose hadn't noticed the height difference before, but Matt was quite taller than Clara) and gave him a kiss to his cheek. "The Doctor's coming," she said. "Go start up the car. I'll be there in a second." Matt nodded, doing a 360 degree turn and waving at Rose before turning around again as he hurried off in the opposite direction to the car.
Rose turned to the Doctor and instantly felt her heart begin to ache. "Hey," she said sadly, pursing her lips. The Doctor gave her a sad look, dropping his bag as if it didn't matter.
"Don't worry. Time will pass quicker than you think it will- I promise."
"It won't," she sighed, bending her head as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I love you," she said finally, looking up at him. A huge grin spread across his lips.
"Quite right, too," he laughed. "And I suppose, if it's my last chance to say it-"
"You're coming back in three weeks," Rose reminded him, raising an eyebrow. The Doctor put his finger to her lips, shushing her.
"Rose Tyler-" he was cut off when Matt slammed his fist down on the car horn, causing the both of them to jump in shock.
"Come onnnnn, then!" Matt hollered from the drivers seat of the car.
An annoyed look crossed the Doctor's face and he sighed, shaking his head. "I don't want to go," he admitted, staring at her with wide eyes. Rose felt another pang in her heart at his tone. "Bye," he sighed, swooping forward to envelope her in a tight hug. Rose gripped him tightly, almost afraid to let go. He finally dropped her and kissed her hair lightly. Then, he snatched up his bag and sprinted towards the car, leaving Rose alone, her hands wrapped around her stomach.
A/N: Okay, there might be an epilogue, since I feel like this was a mean ending, but I haven't decided. But anyway, thank you guys so much for sticking with this story the whole time, even when I had some issues with school and stuff and couldn't update as often. You're awesome x
