Ten Year Reunion

Chapter Four

Reunion Part-1

1992- August 17th

6pm

Nick let out a sigh as he stared at his appearance in the bathroom mirror. He was nervous. The day he had been anticipating for the last couple of months was finally here. It was the night of the reunion. In less than an hour or so, he would have to face his past. And not to mention the love of his life.

In an hour, he would once again lay eyes on Lindsay Weir. The girl who over the past ten years, he had never really stopped loving.

Nick was never one to care about his appearance but tonight he did. He had made sure he was clean shaven and had gone out to get a hair cut. He had done everything that Sara had been nagging him to do before their wedding. In away he felt like he was preparing for his wedding instead of his high school reunion. He had even gone to the gym the past couple of weeks in hopes of losing some of the extra weight he had gained since high school.

He had told everyone he was getting ready for the wedding but he really just wanted to look good for Lindsay.

"NICK?" called out Sara from the bedroom. "Are you almost done in there? I still have to put on my makeup."

Nick turned his attention immediately towards the bathroom door at this, which was closed. As he opened his mouth to speak the door was pushed open and Sarah stood there in her dressing gown holding her make-up bag in one hand. She smiled up at her fiance.

He continued to stare at her for a second before straightening his back and taking a step away from the small vanity, "It's all yours," he smiled a small smile at her as he gestured towards the sink.

"Thanks," whispered Sara as she stepped passed him and into the small bathroom.

Nick quickly stepped out of her way and headed back into the bedroom.

He still needed to get dressed. His hands were shaking slightly as he opened the door to the adjoining walk in closet. Man, he really needed a joint, he thought to himself. He was hoping that either Daniel or Ken would have a stash on them at this reunion thing. He would bring his own but had smoked the last of it the previous night.

Nick tried to clear his mind of all thoughts as he reached for a pale blue button down shirt and a brown jacket. It was too warm out to wear a suit, he thought to himself but he wanted to look good for her.

For once in his life, he was going to try and look good.

"Ughh I look fat!" cried out Amy as she turned to the side and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her hands skimmed over the flatness of her stomach, smoothing out the satin plum dress she was wearing. She was that far along in her pregnancy but she couldn't help but feel bloated.

"You're not fat!" cried back Ken from the master bathroom. He was in the middle of brushing his teeth.

A few moments passed before he appeared into the bedroom. There was a small dab of toothpaste resting on the corner of his lip. Ken smiled at his wife as she continued to look at herself in the mirror, frowning.

"Babe, you look good!" he whispered as he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing an open mouth kiss to her exposed neck.

Amy couldn't help but smile at this. She knew she was being crazy at thinking she was fat but she couldn't help herself. She was afraid that everyone would know just by looking at her. They hadn't told anyone of the news yet and had both agreed that they wouldn't until at least the third month.

The couple stayed like this for a few moments longer. Ken had his chin resting on Amy's shoulder. They were looking at each other through the reflection in the mirror. Ten years had passed since they had graduated high school. Ken's hair was shorter and he had slimed down a bit but other then that, there wasn't much. He could still see the eighteen year old in him.

And Amy.

Amy was even more beautiful, he thought to himself. He kissed the side of her neck again and continued to hold her close.

Lindsay suddenly felt like she was going to be sick as she stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her body. The reunion started in less than an hour and she was dreading it. A part of her was looking forward to seeing all her old friends again and hanging out in their old high school, talking about the past. But another part was dreading walking back into the gym and having all those old feelings of a teenager come rushing back to her.

Plus, Nick was going to be there.

She didn't know how she was going to act around him. Or how he was going to act around her. She knew that he was bringing Sara with him, which didn't help matters. Sara hated her or she thought she did.

Lindsay brushed her wet hair out of her face with her hands before reaching for the comb sitting on the side of the sink. She barely looked at herself in the fogged up mirror as she began to roughly brush out the tangles of her hair. She wasn't one to put much effort into her appearance but tonight she was going to try and make her self pretty.

She had even bought a new dress for the occasion.

Tonight was a big deal. Not only did she want to make Nick's heart melt when he saw her but she wanted to show the rest of her class how successful she had become. That she had made something of herself since graduating.

Putting the comb down, Lindsay then reached for the blow dryer which was handing on a hook above the toilet.

She then began to blow dry her hair.

"Daniel, eat your heart out!" murmured Kim to herself as she looked at her appearance in the full length mirror in her bedroom. She looked good, she had to admit as she turned to the side. She was wearing a black velvet baby doll dress. Her long blonde hair was pulled up into a bun and on her feet a pair of black chunky heeled sandals.

Kim had made sure to wear something new tonight. Something that Daniel hadn't seen her in before. She knew he wasn't bringing his wife but she was still going to make him eat out of the palm of her hand. She continued to smile at her reflection as she adjusted the thin straps of the dress on her shoulders.

She moved away from the mirror and walked over to her make-up vanity. Bending down, she reached for tube of red lipstick. Pulling off the lid of the tube, she then made her way back to the mirror. She leaned in close to the mirror and pouted her lips as she applied the lipstick.

Kim couldn't help but smile again as she took a step back and once again admired her self in the mirror.

"Yes, Daniel is sure going to be eating out of my hand tonight," she whispered to herself as she put the lid back onto the lipstick.

Her eyes then glanced over at the radio clock near the bed. She would be needing to leave soon, she thought. She needed to pick up Lindsay before heading to the reunion together.

Daniel let out a sigh as he washed the rest of the shaving cream off of his face and stared intensely at his reflection.

He looked hung out.

There were deep dark purple bags underneath his brown eyes.

He had spent half the night getting stoned with Nick. He hadn't slept much afterwards. He had kept on thinking about the reunion and stepping back into that old high school gym.

For some reason, he wasn't sure why but he was nervous about this reunion. He was looking forward to hanging out with the old gang and seeing Lindsay again. To be able to be with Kim for the whole night without having to worry about Raven.

However, there was still a nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach that he couldn't seem to shake. He was afraid that all his old anxieties and such would come rushing back to him. He hadn't stepped foot inside McKinley since graduating ten years ago.

There had been some good times there but for the most part, it had sucked ass.

Daniel let out another sigh as he rubbed the side of his face and headed out of the bathroom. He was in need of a smoke before finishing getting ready.
