Authors Note: Sorry for the long wait for the update. I had to work almost every single day except Christmas. So here you go. Sorry it's a little short and what-not but enjoy!
The journey to the garden door felt like an eternity. Ludwig was on alert and ready to attack, Feliciana leading the way as best as she could. Occasionally, the both of them would take a detour due to the fact that they would hear clanging in the room they were about to enter.
"I wonder why they haven't tried to attack us yet," Feliciana spoke softly, her honey colored eyes scanning the room they were in. She would open a door and jump back a bit.
Standing there was Antonio. Feliciana would look over to Ludwig who was ready to attack at any moment.
"Hola!" Antonio was grinning. Not an evil, malicious grin, just his usual lofty, carefree one. "Why are you two still here? The party has been over for…" he paused to think and then smiled again, "about twenty or so minutes now!"
"Oh, si. We know. We were just invited to stay a little longer." Feliciana wasn't sure if she should have told him exactly why. Antonio might be a werewolf and he might want to join in this 'game' also.
Ludwig would frown and shake his head as he spoke, "we were just about to leave and got a little lost. Do you mind helping us find our way outside?"
It was Feliciana's turn to frown as she gave Ludwig a look of concern.
"Oh. I wish I could but I was actually just about to go finish up some business," Antonio said, frowning as if he were truly sorry.
"That's fine," Feliciana cut in before Ludwig could say anything, "We're in a hurry anyway."
Ludwig let out a sigh and followed the Italian woman as she began to walk away. She would lead him on, the two of them venturing further towards the garden door. There were more ruffling noises and then silence. Feliciana would quiver slightly as she glanced to Ludwig.
"I don't think Antonio knows what's going on," Ludwig finally said, his cool eyes now resting on Feliciana's face.
"Why do you say that?"
"He seemed a little confused as to why we were still here. Don't you think they would have told him if they wanted to invite him?"
"Si but," she glanced to the side to try and break the gaze fixated upon her.
"But?"
"But I still did not think it was a good idea."
"Feliciana," Ludwig frowned, "we're not in a very good situation and to be honest, I don't think that we will be winning this 'game'. However," he would stop in his tracks and grab ahold of the woman so that she was facing him, "I think that it would be best that we got all the help we could, even if the help was from someone trying to hurt us."
Feliciana felt her cheeks grow a soft pink shade as her honey colored eyes locked onto deep sea blue ones. If this game wasn't endangering her life, she would have loved this very moment. She noticed a small pink glow across the blond haired man's face and Feliciana briefly wondered if he was being true to his feelings.
There was a loud bang. Ludwig let go of the Italian, which jolted her back into reality. She would turn from the other male and continue to walk.
"This way," she whispered, another loud bang nearby.
Ludwig would follow her and the two were only a room away from their destination. Feliciana would slowly open the door, barely peeking into the room. It was clear. She would open it and hurry over to the door to the garden. She would let out a faint sigh and then turn to look at Ludwig.
"I hope this works," the blond haired man spoke as he stepped next to her and placed his hand on the knob, slowly turning it.
"Ludwig," the door was pushed open and the two stepped outside, the Italian woman looking to the male before her, "I'm sorry you were dragged into this but… I couldn't marry him."
There was a moment of silence, Ludwig now taking the lead as they ventured to the furthest part of the garden.
"I know," he finally answered, looking at the brunette, "your heart belongs to someone else."
The woman would look away and blush softly. Of course Ludwig knew she still had feelings for him. It was obvious.
"It belongs to you," she whispered softly, still looking off to the side to avoid eye contact.
"And I'm honored to be the one who holds your heart but I can't love you back." It was Ludwig's turn to look away.
There was no more speaking. The two would slowly walk along the garden, Feliciana still keeping her guard up. She would stop at a patch of flowers and pluck a few, rubbing them against her skin. Ludwig did the same. They silently attempted to mask their scent.
It felt like an eternity had passed by before the silence was broken.
"Feliciana," Ludwig spoke softly, still not looking at her, "I do love you."
Authors Note: So the beginning, I felt, was a little beyond bland but I promise the next chapter will have you dying for more, or maybe not. Either way, I hope you stick around! F&F R&R and have a nice day!
