It was my birthday Friday :D I'm one year older ;) .. so this is my belated birthday treat for you guys!
Have a merry Christmas my little angels!
The Mikaelson Mansion.
"Elijah, you're terrible at this." Henrik complained.
"Don't worry 'bout it Henry, he's just an old man." Damon smirked causing Henrik and Kol to snicker.
"Old man? He's ancient." Kol exclaimed.
Elijah rolled his eyes at Kol's, Henrik's and Damon's words. They were currently playing 'Call of Duty' and the boys took every opportunity to belittle Elijah's skills.
"For an old man, who has never playing this game before, I think I'm doing pretty well." Elijah defended.
"You keep killing us."
"So?"
"We're on the same team."
The boys barked out in uncontrollable laughter as Elijah deadpanned.
"I'll be with Niklaus and Stefan. You three can act like children all you like, but I will not be part of it." Elijah huffed out, annoyed and slightly embarrassed.
With that, Elijah left the game room, muttering something about needing more mature people around him, and leaving Kol, Damon and Henrik in stitches.
"Have you spoken to 'Bekah lately?" Stefan asked Klaus slightly worried.
"Yes. Why?"
"She's just been acting weird and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with her." Stefan sighed. "You're her favorite brother, could you-"
"Don't involve me in this mate. Whatever is going on with you and my sister, stays between you and my sister." Klaus dismissed. "Now let's talk about more important matters like Christmas, it's in three weeks."
"Fine," Stefan reluctantly dropped the subject. "So what are you getting Care this year?"
"Now that's a surprise," he winked. "What you getting Bekah."
Before Stefan could reply, an irritated Elijah marched through the door and over to the in-door bar and poured himself a shot of whiskey.
"Let me guess, Kol managed to piss you off?" Klaus smirked.
"I bet Damon didn't help either." Stefan also smirked.
"They force me into playing a stupid game with them, then they think they can mock me when they don't explain the rules properly. Who am I? Some xbox nerd? Argh. I can't deal with those three together. They're so much worse when they're together." Elijah ranted.
"They know what to do to piss you off 'Lijah." Stefan managed to get out, as both he and Klaus were restraining for laughing in amusement.
"Also you make it very entertaining." Klaus told him truthfully.
"Well, I disagree with that." Elijah took another shot, wincing slightly at the burn.
"Well, of course you would." Stefan and Klaus muttered sarcastically before letting out a little chuckle. Yes, the alcohol was beginning to effect both boys.
"Moving on... What were you two talking about before I entered?" Elijah asked.
"It seems that our dear sister is acting melancholy around Stefan, but my personal opinion is that she's either just being bridezilla or on her period." Klaus shrugged before continuing. "Anyway I would prefer to talk about something else so, what are you and little Gilbert doing for Christmas?"
"Stefan, Rebekah will be fine. And Klaus, what Elena and I do for Christmas is none of your concern." Seeing both boys raise their eyebrows at him, Elijah sighed in annoyance but proceeded to tell them anyway. "I'm talking her to New York. You happy?"
"Yes."
"Why New York?"
"Because Elena has always wanted to have a Christmas in New York, and I want to be the one to give it to her." Elijah replied honestly, but quickly spoke again before they could pass comment. "What about you two? What you doing for Rebekah and Caroline?"
"Well Klaus said it's a surprise, which most likely means he hasn't thought of anything yet. And I'm giving Rebekah my mothers locket." Both Mikaelsons stared at Stefan with their mouths agape. Everyone knew how special Liz Salvatore's locket was to the Salvatore siblings, and hearing Stefan say he's giving it to Rebekah was a big deal.
"And how does Damon and Caroline feel about this?" Elijah asked Stefan, not quite believing they would be willing to give up the locket.
"They both said they couldn't imagine a better person for it to be given to. Mom loved Rebekah like she was her own child, we all think she would be delighted for it to be pass on to 'Bekah." Stefan smiled.
"Wow." Elijah and Klaus breathed out in union.
A silence set over the boys, all lost in the memory of Liz Salvatore. Liz was such a kind-hearted woman. She always had a smile on her face. She was always baking something, or looking after her garden. Even when her husband left her for another man, she still smiled, and was genuinely happy for him. So when she was diagnosed with cancer, the sunshine in the Salvatore family was lost. She had died 14 months after being diagnosed. Caroline, Stefan and Damon, locked themselves in their house, never leaving, not even for food. The trio fell into depression after Liz' death, and it seemed no-one could snap them out of it. Three months after Liz' death, Ester had had enough. She shouted at the siblings, stating that Liz wouldn't want to see them so down and depressed. She forced them to face reality and told them that they were wasting their lives away. It took a while, and a lot of harsh words, but the siblings finally accepted that they couldn't bring their mother back. They also fell into a routine where Liz' garden would always be looked after and they would bake together every Sunday. Even if the trio wasn't together every Sunday, they would use Skype or Facetime with each other.
Liz Salvatore is the most important person in the Salvatore's life and the siblings never got rid of any of her things. Not clothes, not hair brushes, not bed sheets, not jewelry, not make-up (not that she wore alot anyway), nothing. They never gave anyone anything of hers and everyone knew that.
Stefan giving Rebakah Liz' locket is going to mean so much. Klaus and Elijah knew how much happiness it would bring Rebekah and they couldn't help but grin.
"Give me back my phone Kol!" Henrik exclaimed, rolling round on the floor with Kol who had his ringing phone.
"Ooo, it's April, I think it would be best if I answer it." Kol teased.
"Don't you even think about!"
"Maybe I should answer it and pretend to be telling you off for cheating on her." Kol smirked as Henrik shrugged against him still reaching for the phone and Damon shaking his head, not wanting to get involved.
"Just because you're messing up your relationship with Bonnie, who obviously loves you, doesn't mean you can mess up mine." Henrik told him, calming down slight and momentarily distracting Kol. He quickly grabbed his phone from his hands and bolted out the room.
"I think you just got burned." Damon said causally.
When Kol didn't reply his usual sarcastic comments, Damon sighed and turned his attention to Kol.
"Okay, what did you do?"
"What makes you think I did anything?" Kol replied.
"I'm closer to you than any other Mikaelson, so don't lie to me. Now I repeat, what did you do?"
"I made a comment about Bonnie mom, forgetting that she has never been there for her." He mumbled.
"Oh." was all Damon said.
"Oh?" Kol questioned.
"Well, if I know Bonnie as well as I think I do, then I can say that she doesn't really care about the comment you made, she cares more about you forgetting."
"Really?" Kol asked surprised.
"Yes, really." Damon rolled his eyes. "All you need to do is show her that you care." A soft smile graced Kol's lips before he rushed off. "Wait, where are you going?" Damon called.
No answer.
"Well that's just great." Damon muttered to himself sarcastically.
"Answer the phone, answer the phone." Kol whispered impatiently as he paced his room.
"Hello?" A voice came from the other end.
Finally. He thought.
"Bonnie, I know you probably want to hang up right now, but please don't, please hear me out." Kol pleaded.
After a moment of silence, she told him to continue in a soft and almost defeated voice.
"Bonnie, I'm sorry about forgetting what a crap mother you have, but I wasn't really thinking when I said it. Every time I am with you my heart races and I can never seem to form a proper sentence or say the right things, but I am trying. It's Christmas soon and I want to make it the best Christmas that you've ever had. I want to make you feel as special as you are. I want to show you that I care, because I do. I care more than anything and you really need to know that." Taking a deep breath he breathed out, "I love you Bonnie, more than I can show with words, but I can show you with my actions. Just give me the chance to make it up to you."
In that silence, he heard a load of 'awws' coming from the background. He was on loud speaker, he realized, but in that moment the only thing he cared about was Bonnie.
"I love you too Kol."
A wide smile broke out on Kol's face.
"Really?"
"Really really."
"Really really really?"
A soft giggle escaped Bonnie as she replied. "Yes really really really. I love you Kol Mikaelson."
"And I love you Bonnie Bennet."
Again, there was 'awws' echoing from the phone and both Kol and Bonnie couldn't stop smiling.
And there you have it! Hope you enjoyed it!
Next chapter is Christmas!
See ya next Sunday!
