I hope you all enjoy this!

This is just a Klaroline chapter. No-one else but those two. The other characters Christmas time will be in flashbacks in the next chapter.

Have a very merry Christmas

And don't forget to smile!

:D

"Caroline, love. You're over-reacting." Klaus called, chasing after Caroline.

It was Christmas eve and all the couples were off doing their own thing. Caroline and Klaus had stopped by the Grill for a quick drink and to use the restrooms after going out to dinner in the next town over. Caroline had been talking to Matt when Klaus came out of the restroom and lets just say, Klaus got a little jealous, angry and overprotective over the closeness of the two and ended up punching Matt square in the face. Thus the beginning of the argument they were currently having.

"Over-reacting? Me? Over-reacting? Seriously?!" Caroline exclaimed incredulously, abruptly turning around, making her soft blonde hair fall over her face, and throwing her arms up in the air as she glared at him.

"He had his hands on you Caroline! I don't like people touching what's mine. And you, my love, are mine." Klaus all but growled, his eyes darkening as he recalled the way Matt rubbed Caroline's arm. All Klaus wanted to do when he saw, was to tear his arm away and break it in half.

"And I love that I'm yours Nik, but we were just talking about Katherine and how Matt could make his move towards her. I was just helping him out, which still, by the way, does not give you any right to just go around punching people!" She shouted. "You can't stop people from touching me Nik. It was just a gesture of gratitude."

Klaus laughed. He wasn't going to apologize for his actions. Oh no. He was going to remind her that he wasn't the only one with a temper.

"Says the girl, who not even a week ago, done the same thing when a petty little redhead stroked my arm." Klaus smiled as he seen a glimpse of anger and jealously flash through her eyes.

"That skanky little bitch, was all over you, and you just stood there and did nothing." she argued. "Plus, she deserved it, I mean, who did she think she is? Touching you and staring hungrily at you like a piece of meat. You're mine and only I can touch you." This time, it was Caroline who growled possessively.

Klaus grinned smugly. He loved it when she claimed him as hers. Cautiously, he made his way over to Caroline, not wanting to get hit as he could see her angry face was on, and wrapped his arms around her waist. Before she could reject his affection, he interlocked their lips in a passionate embrace, making her momentarily forget the reason why she was mad at him.

"You still need to apologize to Matt." Caroline mumbled between kisses, combing her fingers through his smooth locks.

"Anything for you, my sweet, sweet Caroline." He muttered in reply, dragging his lips from hers and down to her jawline and neck.

"Take me home." She breathed.

He smiled.

Caroline moaned as she was pushed up against Klaus' front door and was attacked with kisses all over her neck and the top of her breasts. Hands in his hair, she started to grind her hips into his, creating a delicious friction. Somehow, in the midst of pleasure, Klaus had moved them into the living room and placed her down on the couch. Hovering over her, they slowly began to undress each other, wanting to prolong the night. Placing open-mouthed kisses across her chest and collarbone, they looked into each others eyes as he entered her. Sweet moans and groans, echoed through the undisturbed room as Caroline met each of Klaus' thrusts. Hands discovering each others body as if it were their first time. Kisses placed hungrily over necks and shoulders, and love-bites were starting to form from where they'd sucked greedily on one another's necks. Finally reaching their pecks, they came, one after the other, both panting heavily, and lazily smiles graced their faces. Klaus collapsed on top of Caroline, still inside of her and they just lay there, catching their breath while drawing made-up patterns with their finger tips on each others flesh.

The moved into the bedroom sometime later, and made sweet passionate love all over again.

"Ittt's Chrisssstmmmaaass." A soft angelic voice sang gently in Klaus' ear.

Some things never change Klaus happily thought to himself.

Every Christmas since he was 6, Caroline would always be the one to wake him up. Sometimes his sister would be there with her, sometimes Stefan, but every year, without a doubt, Caroline would be there. At exactly 6:45, Caroline would be right beside him, saying 'It's Christmas' with an excitement that would grow with each year.

Opening his eyes, he was met with the sight of Caroline smiling down at him with so much love that he thought his heart would burst. Threading his fingers through her hair, he brought her down for a tender kiss.

"Merry Christmas Caroline." They shared a smile. "You want to open your presents now, don't you love?" She nodded eagerly. He chuckled at her childishness. "Well then, what are you waiting for?"

Caroline squealed as she jumped out of the bed and bolted all the way downstairs in just Klaus' t-shirt.

God, I love that girl. Klaus smiled joyfully.

Putting on a pair of sweatpants, he joined Caroline downstairs, where she was waiting for him, a shy smile covering her features.

"I want you to open this first." She said chewing on her bottom lips, indicating she was nervous.

Giving her a questioning look, he took the box from Caroline and opened it slowly.

Inside there was at least ten old, worn-out books. Glancing up at Caroline, who was still nibbling on her lower lip, he gingerly opened the first book.

It wasn't a book.

It was a Journal. A Diary.

Again, Klaus was confused...

...Until he read who the journal belonged to.

Douglas Winston.

"Is this..?" Klaus choked out, tears welling up in his eyes.

Caroline moved to sit behind him. Wrapping her arms around his waist, she nodded against him.

"Your father's. And his father, and his father, and so on. I know you wanted to find out more about your family history, and I managed to get these for you. Find out more about how your father's side of the family lived. What they did. If they were happy. If they had anger issues." She joked, causing a smile to grace his lips.

Placing the box down, he turned around in her arms, and kissed her with all the love and happiness he could. He poured every single emotion he has ever felt into the kiss. No words could show how much this meant to him. No words could show how much happiness this is bringing him. But he knew. He knew that she understood what he meant. She knew how much and how badly he wanted to know about his father, and she's giving him the knowledge.

"I love you so much Caroline Forbes."

"I love you more Niklaus Winston." She giggled and he couldn't help but smile. "It has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?"

"Niklaus Winston. Hmm, I think you're right my love." He chuckled. "Now. My gift for you." He smirked.

Caroline watched as Klaus grabbed a present from under the tree - a bigger box than she gave him. Placing it in front of her, he waited for her to open it.

Caroline gasped.

No way! He didn't! He didn't! No way!

"I could have gotten you some jewellery, or a book. Make-up or clothes. Games or something electronic, like a new phone or a tv or a laptop. But I thought that this would mean more to you than anything else." Klaus softly explained.

Inside the box was everything memorable Klaus and Caroline had done together. From kids, to teenagers, to adults.

There was pictures that she didn't even know existed, letters that they'd sent to each other whenever they were away from each other for a long time. The blanket she had persuaded Klaus to help her knit. The clay models Caroline had started to make - so she and Klaus could spend more time together when he went to art class, as she couldn't seem to draw if her life depended on it. Drawings that Klaus had done of her, them, and places they've been. Jewellery they had gotten each other, books they'd brought together. The first bottle of perfume Klaus brought Caroline and it stunk. Real bad. But the memories that came with it were hilarious. Their t-shits from concerts they went to. Their t-shirt from the first time they had a paint fight. All of their best memories were inside the box, and Caroline couldn't help the few tears that descended from her eyes.

In all of these memories, Caroline had fell more in love with Klaus, even when she didn't realize it.

These memories meant the world to her.

Klaus silently watched Caroline take in her gift. He could see her remembering every memory the things held. He could also see the love in her eyes, and he was pretty sure, love was in his as well.

He wiped her tears away with his thumps, lifting her head up so he could look into her eyes.

"Happy tears?" He whispered.

Cupping his hands with hers, she whispered back. "Happy tears."

They spend the next few hours, making love, and showing each other how happy they've made one another.

It was ten o'clock that night when Klaus told Caroline to look up.

The only light in the sky was the moonlight.

They had spent the rest of the day having fun. They'd skyped with all their family members, who were either at their beach house or somewhere else in the world. It was also the first Christmas they had all spent apart. Even though it was completely weird, they all enjoyed their day.

Klaus and Caroline were at their waterfall and Caroline was currently looking at their star.

When they were 10 years old, they came to this waterfall and there was only one star in the sky. It had quickly became their star, and they would come here just think things out, or let out their anger.

"You remember when you said, that this star will bring someone happiness, this star would watch someone fall in love. That this star would be with someone throughout their life. And that you also named this star cupid."

"Yeah?" Caroline said confused to where he was going with this.

"Well, Cupid is officially our star." Klaus smiled.

"Wh-what?" She stuttered.

He chuckled and her dumbfound expression.

"Merry Christmas Caroline." Klaus grinned, pulling Caroline into his warm embrace.

"Merry Christmas Klaus."

And there it is!

Hope you've enjoyed it.

Have a very merry Christmas!
