The very next morning they had set up to leave the hideout, they had all packed supplies, Tinkerbell had packed Emma a knapsack of things for the journey with slight tears on her face from being sad and happy all together. Tinkerbell had then smiled thinking that she would check up on her everyday just incase while she was gone with her parents to search for the boy. Emma had watched Tink pack for her with a sad smile, and when Emma saw Tinkerbell's tears she walked over to her best friend and took her hand in her hers with a smile sending a silent message. Emma told her that she would be back soon and that they would play with the boys once again.
Tinkerbell had watched her best and only friend walk out of the hideout tree with her knapsack on her back, wearing the outfit she had given her and a new hat she had made Emma for the journey. She had given Emma a smile and then hugged her tightly looking over the little girl's shoulder at her parents sending a silent message. Protect her with your life. They had nodded with such insurance as if they had already known, and she knew they would have done so anyway because she was their daughter.
They broke apart from their hug, she took Emma in as she gazed at her. Emma was wearing the outfit she had given her, the hat she had made for her, she had her belt on her hip which contained her flute and a medium sized expertly crafted green leaf handle sword she had given the girl for luck and protection which was made from deep within Neverland's light.
The boys had stood behind Tink together in a crowd watching her departure, most had sad faces on, some were wearing blank expressions, and gloomy. They were sad to see their sister go, she had made it more fun and they feared for her life more than anything.
Emma saw Tink and the boys faces so she did the only thing she could think of to leave them in high spirits. Emma jogged away from Tink so she could be in everyone's sight, she put her hands on her hips playfully swaying acting playful as she spoke.
"I'll be fine guys, we'll find Henry and be back before you know it. You know what, how about this when I get back I'll bring a story" Everyone perked up at her words instantly jumping up and down with glee, the storybrooke group watched a short distance away listening and watching with disbelief that this Emma was the same one they all knew.
Emma leaned back and released her hands from her hips gleefully knowing they would be fine. Tinkerbell and the boys smiled and cheered towards her and encouraged her to go towards the storybrooke group who were waiting near the exit/entrance of the hideout clearing.
Emma grinned as she ran towards the group excited to go on an adventure, they all soon left the hideout clearing past the cloaking barrier and into the never woods.
As they got a couple of yards away they stopped for a second then turned to Emma, they had talked it over and according to Hook Pan's words were known to be truthful. They needed Emma to find Henry, she could show them the way. They only had one option, to use Emma...the only thing was they didn't know how.
Regina then decided that she would be the one to ask, she bent down to the girls height trying not to show that she was scared that the girl wouldn't know and if she didn't then Henry wouldn't be saved.
Emma watched as Regina bent down to her height, she watched curiously as the woman looked to her and tried to speak but kept stopping herself.
Regina then looked down to the ground in frustration and exhaustion from the emotions raging inside of her ever since Henry had been taken in storybrooke. Regina was surprised when she felt small hand touch her face holding it gently and softly lifting it so her eyes were facing the one of a blonde child.
Emma looked into the woman's eyes searchingly, what she found surprised her and was something she understood. Everyone watched as the child interacted with Regina, they all watched on saying nothing as this happened.
Then Emma whispered in a soft voice towards the queen "Your scared...it's okay to be scared. Everyone get scared sometimes especially those who have loved one's that are lost" Regina looked into the little girls eyes, and what she saw made her spill a tear down her cheek. The despair, it was there. Regina then knew that she was the one to cause the despair to be there in the little girls eyes, even though this innocent little girl had found her parents it was still there. She knew what this looked like, because she knew the feeling all to well. Emma then let go of the woman's face with a humble soft smile on her face, she then looked around the forest.
Regina then found inside herself to ask the question, she brushed back a strand of her own hair and spoke. "We don't know how to find Henry, and we were told you were the only one who could find him. He was taken here by some bad people, and brought to Peter Pan who is camped some where on this island" Emma listened to her taking in every word in confusion at first then understanding.
"He's on the dark side of the island, that's were Pan is...but I can't go there..."
"I don't care that you-"
"Regina" Snow warned looking to her daughter then back at her step-mother. Snow knew they had to save Henry, but she was being unfair to her daughter.
Regina stopped talking then knowing she was being mean to the girl who was being so nice to her, she just wanted her son back and safe.
Snow then approached Emma who was shaking with fear as she eyed Regina, thinking about the dark side of the island and Pan and..and..
Snow took Emma in her arms knowing what her daughter was thinking, she knew without a doubt what her little girl was thinking. Pan wanting her, and the lost boy known as Felix's promise that it will happen.
David's eyes flashed to his wife's noticing her take hold of Emma. David then walked over to them and crouched down to their girl with soft sad smile trying to make her not worry. He then spoke to her as she looked at him with fear in her eyes "Hey, don't you baby Pan won't get you, as long as your with us"
David then scooped her up in his arms carrying her, she put her head on his shoulder for a moment. David put his hand in her hand holding her head with a soft smile trying to hide his fear for his child, but he knew he would protect her with his last dying breath if need be.
It took a couple of minutes before Emma agreed. "Okay, I guess we have to follow the darkness that what Tink said to avoid while we were out playing earlier. Look at the forest and see where it is most dark, that's the right direction to go" They all smiled fondly and thankfully at the child in David's arms, they then headed in that direction for a while and as they did so the sky got darker and darker as did the forest around them.
It was getting late when they were walking, they had just reached a clearing where Hook spoke out halting their movements. He spoke not too loud as to not wake up the young adorable very asleep girl who had been treading on foot until she couldn't no more and was passed from parent to parent's arms carried safely. Regina and him had watched as David and Snow held her soothingly in their arms, they caught glimpses of the parents with tears in their eyes but said nothing. Regina had kept her gaze most of the time of them knowing it would cause her more grief knowing that Henry was not in her arms safe.
"We will stop here and make camp, if I say so we have made excellent progress today. The girl may lead us to the boy yet" Hook smiled at Snow who held her baby girl in her arms with a smile which she fondly returned happy to be having the moments with her child. David had walked close to his wife and daughter, he brushed Emma's forehead smiling softly at his child then at his wife before he went over to the pirate to help set up camp.
Snow had then found a rock to sit upon holding her little girl as she slept safely and comfortably in her arms, she rocked back and forth holding her rubbing her girls back soothingly. Snow was milking Emma's predicament to the best of her ability, not knowing how much she had with her baby girl like this. She never got to do this before with her girl, she had given birth, then the curse came and got broken, then her baby was a twenty-eight year old and in a blink of an eyes she and Charming had missed it all. Their baby girl's childhood, her firsts in everything but now she was a little girl; she knew Emma would eventually get turned back into her twenty-eight year old self but she couldn't help herself wanted her baby so much and she knew David felt the same way by the look in his eye every time he glances at Emma.
She held onto her baby even tighter in fear, she was then brought back to Pan wanting her child. Snow wondered why her child, why Emma. Snow caught in her thoughts didn't notice Regina sit down on the adjacent rock next to her until she spoke in a whisper trying not to stir the child. "I'm sorry" Snow's gaze met hers in confusion, then realization. Anger had flooded Snow in that moment knowing what she was talking about, she tried to contain it for Emma's sake.
"I'm not the one you should apologize to" Regina knew what she meant and her gaze drifted to the sleeping little girl in Snow's arms. Emma shifted a bit in her mother's arms sensing her mother's tenseness causing the two women to stare quietly, the little girl moved in her sleep cuddling more into her mother and yawned with her eyes closed as slept causing the women to look on at the little girl in awe at how cute she was being. David had been watching from a couple of feet away, he got a bit worried when Snow seemed to get frustrated until he saw their baby girl calm her down a bit by being the most adorable thing he had seen by snuggling into her even more and forming a perfect 'o' with her eyes closed still asleep yawning. David smiled at the sight, snow caught his eyes smiling as well.
Regina had kept her eyes on the little girl in snow's arms, she even smiled softly at the adorable sight. It brought her back to Henry when he was that age. He would cuddle with her when he had a nightmare or when he was sick. Regina brought her thoughts wondering what Henry was doing that very moment and if he was okay; she feared that he was hurt but remembered Hook mentioning that if he was indeed the boy Pan wanted he wouldn't be harmed.
It still didn't stop her worrying, Regina knew that she wold have to carry the burden of Emma growing up alone, but she couldn't regret it because it gave her Henry.
Henry was sitting on a wooden log facing away from the lost boys who were sitting around a fire all talking and joking around, he had picked up a stick and began to draw in the dirt a house wishing he was there instead where he was. He wondered if he would ever go home, he wondered if he would ever see his family again; he had hope but he still feared. Henry had noted that Pan was trying to make him feel like a hero, he wanted to be one more than anything but he knew deep down that anything Pan wanted him to do would be evil and that's not what hero's were.
Henry listened in on the lost boys conversations, he caught snippets of their conversation. They were talking about some lost girl and how she was powerful they had also mentioned a mother and the lost girl being like Peter. Henry wondered who was the lost girl, and hoped that Pan didn't get the lost girl like he got him knowing that what Pan has planned for him that this lost girl Pan probably has something even more worse planned for her. Henry wondered who she might be, he thought back to the story of Peter Pan and recalled any girls coming to neverland and only thinking of wendy, but it can't be her because he heard from the lost boys that Pan already had her locked up somewhere. So who was she, and why did Pan want her more than anything?
Once the camp had been set up Snow had adjusted Emma in her arms carefully whispering soothing words in her ear as she carried her over to her and David's tent area to sleep. Emma stayed asleep in her arms as she laid down next to David who held his arms open for Emma to go in between them. After Emma was lying down, David reached over lying down into Snow's knapsack for her baby blanket. David retrieved it and placed it down next to their daughter who surprisingly didn't cling to it and kept her grip on Snow. This caused snow smile through teary eyes at her daughter's need to be with her, David then scooted closer to his daughter who was in Snow's arms lying between them hoping she would snuggle into him too.
David frowned when Emma didn't move towards him, she only she clung to her mother closer which cause snow to surpress a smile at her daughter; David wore a frown on his face which meted when he felt a little hand go in his. David and Snow smiled at each other before they snuggle close to each other trying not to squish Emma, who was now snuggling with both of them. They soon fell asleep in each other's arms as Hook kept watch and Regina slept at her own area of the camp.
A shadow and a boy in green lurked in the darkness, the boy's face was shown with a blank look on his face as he watched the lost girl sleep in her parents arms. He would have struck them already, but he wanted to have fun with this and waited patiently knowing that this time he would finally get what he wanted and Tinkerbell was no where in sight to stop him. He looked on with determination and then broke his gaze to look towards his shadow, who spoke to him silently.
"That is indeed the lost girl"
"I knew it, I sensed her power ever since she has arrived here"
"Yes, isn't it beautiful"
Peter looked from his shadow towards his lost girl, knowing that she was most indeed beautiful in every way, the shadow didn't need a sign from Peter to know he agreed. The lost girl had indeed the most beautiful and powerful magic of all, which would change Neverland forever.
Hook had changed shifts with Regina for a while until it was around the time they should get going once more, Regina had woken Hook up who then woke up David and Snow. Emma had woken up soon after refreshed from sleeping, they had then sat around the fire that Hook set up and ate breakfast. David had gone into the forest for the berries Hook told him to get and retrieved them for the group going back to the camp. David passed the plater which held the berries to Hook who passed them on, when they reached Emma and Snow Emma asked a question confused.
"Why are you all eating berries from the forrest for?" Everyone looked to her in confusion, Emma shook her head at them and decided to just show them. Emma then held out her hand and closed her eyes imagining a muffin to appear in her hand.
Everyone watched her disbelieving the child, but held in gasps when a breakfast muffin appeared in the girl open hand. Emma then opened her eyes smiling and then took a bite out of the muffin as if it was a natural occurrence, she noticed their shock and then explained.
"Kids can make anything appear in Neverland if they believe it, here I'll give you guys one too" Emma closed her eyes once more and muffins appeared in everyone else's hands to their surprise. They all smiled at the girl in thanks, and ate their muffins forgetting the berries. Once they finished they started to plan what to do next, Emma stayed close to Snow and David trusting them.
"We should keep heading towards the dark, until we reach-" Hook was then cut off by a loud screech that filled the dark sky, they all stilled. Then a flash of black rushed by at the edge of the camp in between the tree's, and then the fire completely went out like a light switch. Snow brought Emma in towards her clinging to her daughter who was shaking knowing what the flash of black was. Emma remembers clearly that it was the shadow from her nightmare, the nightmare she had when she first arrived in neverland. She remembers clearly how the shadow killed the pixie's until she recently brought them back, it could kill.
Emma clung to her mother trying to keep safe.
David and Hook took out their weapons standing up, while Regina did the same in a defensive stance ready to use magic.
Then the Shadow swooped in towards the camp glancing around with it's glowing eyes, it charged at the people standing up which consisted of Regina, David and Hook. They swung their weapons at the shadow while Regina formed a fireball and threw it towards the shadow, which avoided the flames. Then lost boys came in the camp running overwhelming them, Snow had to somewhat fight now standing up while holding Emma in her arms.
Everyone was fighting off lost boys and dodging the shadow's grasp, Emma buried her face into her mother's neck to block out what was happening around them knowing she would keep her safe.
David stayed close to Snow as much as he could, but found himself distance from her and their family fighting the lost boys. Hook and Regina were separated fighting off boys and the shadow, a lost boy then noticing the blonde little girl in Snow's arms tackled her to the ground causing Emma and Snow to fall.
David saw this happen as did Regina and Hook who fought to get over to them but they were pushed by back lost boys.
During the fall to the Neverland ground Snow and Emma detached and fell, Snow fell on her side facing Emma who had fallen with her. Snow's vision became slightly bleary, she reached her hand for Emma's clinging to it while her vision cleared; she noticed that her little girl was unconscious in pain for the fact she was breathing heavily. Snow could hear David shouting in the background, weapons clanging, and a screeching; then she saw him.
His smug evil dark smile as he severed her and her little girl's hands apart ruffly with disgust, she found herself attempting to get up to stop him but found she couldn't move when the boy waved his hand. All she could do was watch as Pan reached down and picked up her baby girl off the floor with a look of victory, she could hear David shouting running towards them and then she heard nothing as she saw her husband freeze mid run as held his sword up high ready to strike the boy for even touching their child.
Pan held Emma in his arms carefully, Emma moaned and shifted in his arms ruffly as if sensing how evil he was. When Emma's eyes began to blink blearily open, she fought against Pan's spell not caring if it hurt her because it would be worth it to save her daughter from this demon.
Pan's grin widened when he saw Snow try to fight his spell, Pan then said something Snow didn't forget. "The Lost Girl is finally home where she belongs. Once an Orphan, always an Orphan" Emma stirred even more in his arms still unconscious trying to fight her way through. She wanted her mother, where was she.
Then Pan turned away from Snow white glancing over to David who was still frozen watching everything, Regina and Hook were held back by lost boys and were desperately trying to save Emma to no avail. Pan then turned away from all of them and stared to walk towards the forest holding Emma carefully staring at his precious lost girl, he could hear mother screaming her name in sobs.
"EMMA!" Emma stirred in Pan's arms even more, and her eyes started to flutter open. Pan didn't look down at the girl in his arms until it was too late, Emma had pushed out of his arms causing him to drop her on the ground.
"MOMMY, DADDY!"
Emma ran looking for her mother and father who were still frozen, but the spell was wearing off. Emma ran in their direction across the clearing where they were, Snow's and David's heart's leaped with in joy and sadness as Emma said those words proclaiming them her parents out loud for the first time. Snow was sobbing as her little girl ran towards them, she could feel the spell wearing off as did David.
Inches from them, they could feel her almost reach their hands when Pan appeared from behind her and picked her up roughly making sure she wouldn't break his grasp again. Emma realized what was happening and screamed "NO!" as he wrapped his arms around her holding Emma in his arms a second before the spell wore off and then right before their eyes the boy and their precious baby girl were gone.
The spell wore off and the lost boys dispersed seeing that the job was done, Snow and David stayed where they were in shock. She was here and now she was gone, what broke the silence was Regina as screamed knowing what had happened. Hook said nothing as he approached them with an immensely sad look in his eyes as to what transpired there. Their hope was taken from them, Emma was the key to finding Henry and now she was gone.
Loud sobs and screams racked from Snow white's body as she shrunk even more down to the ground, David held her crying silently with much grief as well. They were mommy and daddy to a little girl that was taken...taken by a demon with immense power and was defenseless.
Pan appeared at his camp holding a squirming Emma in his arms, who was punching him shouting. "Bring me back, bring me back now!" Pan laughed at her behavior, she was started to get troublesome he needed to put her down.
Pan placed her down in the middle of the camp where the lost boys were crowding them to get a look at 'the lost girl' that Pan had wanted. Emma looked around noticing where she was, she saw all the boys staring at her waiting for something.
Pan stood next to where he placed Emma grinning madly at her, he went behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders before shouting out to the camp. "THE LOST GIRL IS HOME!" the lost boys then cheered towards her, in excitement knowing what he meant. Pan had told them stories about the lost girl, and finally she was here.
Emma stood there frozen in shock not wanting to be there as she had tears in her eyes and cheeks red from crying. She sniffled as she stood there under their gazes, she wanted her mom.
Across the camp a boy sitting on a log heard the dreaded words, feeling great sadness for the girl Pan had taken. Henry stood out side the ring of lost boys surrounding the lost girl and Pan from his view, he waited watching as the lost boys all shook her hand telling her their names welcoming her. Henry knew he heard it even though it was faint, sniffling and some crying.
Until the boys left to go back to what they were doing before, he finally got a glimpse of her. She had blonde hair and green eyes which noticeably held tears in them. Henry watched as Pan whispered in her ear with a smug attitude, coated with happiness and something else he could describe.
Pan whispered into Emma's ear "Welcome home, sweetheart" making Emma shake and sniffle more trying to wipe her tears. Pan then walked away from her leaving her to stand in the middle of the camp, she stood there trying to control her tears when she noticed a pair of feet come into her line of vision as she gazed at the ground. The feet were wearing sneakers, Emma knows for a fact that boys on Neverland don't wear sneaker's so this must be Henry.
Emma looks up at him with tears in her eyes, he looks at her and she could tell his eyes know how she feels. Henry looks at the lost girl noticing something...something familiar about her.
He starts off small. "Hi"
"Hi"
Emma looks at him, and at his clothes. "Your Henry aren't you?" Henry is now more suspicious, how does the lost girl know his name. Did Pan tell her?
Henry just nods his head in response, Emma looks at him. "Your mother is here looking for you, she's on Neverland. She must really love you" Emma speaks softly looking to the ground again still crying, Henry looks at her with sadness and excitement that his mom was here and going to save him; but confusion hit him.
"Wait which mom?" Emma looks up at him confused, then speaks. "Regina" Henry perks up a bit, and then get disappointed when he figures out that his other mom didn't come for him. He had thought she would, he guessed wrong.
Henry saddened a bit before continuing talking to her, she continued to stare at the ground crying and sniffling her tears. "What happened to you?"
Emma cries a bit more, but sniffles and tries to wipe the tears as they fall from her cheeks. Emma mumbles softly while speaking thinking about it. "I was with my mom and dad in the forest, there was your mom with us and then Pan...he came and took me away. I want my mommy, I just found her" Emma started openly crying louder, Henry then took her hand in his and engulfed her in a hug knowing how she felt.
He then lead her over to the log he had been sitting on while he had been staying there, they sat down for a while as Emma calmed down a bit as they stared into the jungle.
"What's your name?"
The lost girl looked to him with tears in her eyes trying to smile, but failing because of the sadness she was feeling. She spoke out in response causing the boy's eyes to widen with realization and anger with himself for thinking bad about his mom not coming for him in his head.
"My name's Emma"
Henry then took her hand in his comfortingly with a smile trying to instill hope in his eyes. "Well, Emma. It's nice to meet you"
His mom was out and so was his Grandparent's, their was hope for him and now Emma yet. They could go home.
