Acacia was positive. Elevators were out to get her. She thought the tension in the elevator was hard to bear, but she never would have thought that Steve Rogers was so awkward. She knew it must have been hard for him to adjust to modern day living, but he was just ridiculous. She let out a sigh and turned to face him.

"Mr. Rogers you should just speak comfortably with me," Acacia stated. "I know nothing must be easy for you now considering your responsibilities and the time change, but I'm here to make it easier for you."

He offered her a kind smile and it was then she took the time to look at him. His teeth were perfectly straight and brought out his blue eyes that made her want to swoon. His body had to have been built by the gods and made her natural female instincts come out. She was still forgetting the kind and somewhat shy nature that made her want to take advantage of him.

"You're going to be a lot of trouble aren't you Mr. Rogers?" she sighed out. She watched his eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"What do you mean?" he asked. "You can call me Steve by the way."

"No, I still prefer Mr. Rogers since this relationship is completely business," she answered. "You can refer to me by whatever you like though. I'm guessing you're the main face behind the Avengers. That makes you the prime target for scandals besides Tony Stark who has been creating scandals for most of his life. My job is to manage your personal appearances, life at home, your daily schedule, and keep your personal life out of the public eye. I shall do my best."

"I'm not sure what to say," he said as the elevator doors opened. Both of you stepped out of it. "I'm happy you're taking your job so seriously and yet I'm a little confused as to how you can be so serious considering today's youth. Shouldn't you be out having fun?"

"That's practically the same as me asking if you should be out saving the world right now." The girl shot him a look and watched as he seemed to contemplate her answer.

"I guess you're right," he replied. Acacia wanted to smack herself for thinking his voice was so sexy. The man was probably too innocent to know what sexy was. "I'll show you to your room. Jarvis will have you complete the settings and you can shower when you get there. Your stuff has already been brought there."

"Thank you," Acacia replied. She felt a little annoyed with him, but decided to let it go. There was just something about people who were so polite that bothered her.

She walked into the room to find it beautiful of course. It was neat and set up. She for the most part ignored the talking appliance. She knew what it was, but she still didn't want to deal with it. She tossed her clothes carelessly a side and she grabbed some new ones as she walked into the bathroom to shower.

She came out dressed in nice jeans and a dark purple blouse. The voice was speaking to her again.

"Ms. Smith it will be necessary for you to inform me of the time you need to wake up," it stated.

"I have an alarm clock already," she replied. "Anything else mister smart machine?"

"It's dinner time. Good luck finding out where it is on your own."

Acacia huffed under her breath thinking about how intelligent that thing was. She was right by not wanting to use. Since Tony Stark worked for SHIELD it was quite possible her information was in its database. She didn't want to risk having her identity revealed so soon after moving.

She sighed before thinking to herself.

"I usually don't sleep," she stated. "I have insomnia, so I will only sleep a maximum of three or four hours when that happens. If my sleeping extends beyond seven in the morning please wake me up."

"It's down the hall and to your left."

Acacia couldn't keep the smile to herself. For some reason she liked the sassy robot. She wasn't a big fan of his sarcastic creator, but she still liked it. She just hoped she'd keep her guard up long enough to last it out here for a while. More than likely she'd stay here about four months and call it good.

She made her way out the door and down the hallway just as the machine had told her. It would be her chance to explore or search around, but it was better not to look suspicious. Acacia knew that if she tried to search around to much it would attract unnecessary attention to herself. It was better to just simply do her job.

She arrived in the kitchen and instantly noticed that Tony Stark seemed to be giving orders about cooking. She wanted to roll her eyes. Was this super intelligent program created just to be a butler? Well, actually that made sense if she thought about his personality.

"Oh it's you," he said turning around. Her eyes instantly realized that he was smirking. Oh how she wanted to wipe it off his face. "Is there anything you would like to eat?"

"Whatever everyone else is eating," she replied. She walked over and leaned against the counter. Eyes scanning the dynamic display that was in front of the man. Jarvis was indeed impressive.

"We all eat different things." He shrugged his shoulders. "I'll just give you what the Captain is having."

"What's that?"

"A burger." He looked at her and caught how she rolled her eyes. "Yeah, he's an easy one to predict. So tell me about yourself."

"Mr. Stark I believe you have my reassume." He just laughed at her and moved to the fridge to grab something to drink.

"I meant your likes and your dislikes."

"Consider me Switzerland. I'm neutral on all subjects." The man began to pout like a child when she responded with a vague answer.

"Well then. I guess we could get down to business. What do you know about Shield?"

"It's an indestructible thing that Captain America carries around." Acacia knew that wasn't the answer, but no one knows about Shield except for the government, Shield itself, and those unlucky enough to be gifted with powers.

"He wasn't talking about that type of Shield." Acacia watched as a red-head strolled into the room. The outfit she wore clung to her body in a way that set your jealousy on fire. She was beautiful, but the second your eyes met you knew something else. She was intelligent. Her confidence in her step wasn't merely for show.

"Okay…" Acacia just watched her hard expression. It seemed to soften in an act of friendliness or maybe fake friendliness. Acacia couldn't tell for sure.

"Natasha Romanoff," she introduced. She offered her hand for a shake and Acacia did so and firmly.

"Acacia Smith." Acacia retracted her hand and offered a small smile. "I'm the new live in assistant for Mr. Rogers."

"It's his job to inform you about Shield then…" She glared at Tony before looking back at you. "What type of fighting experience do you have?"

"None whatsoever, but I can take really detailed notes." The woman let out a frustrated growl.

"Stark you idiot!" she faced him after spitting out words that felt like venom. "You bring in a defenseless citizen incapable of protecting herself. Why didn't you ask for one from Shield?"

"Because that wouldn't be nearly as entertaining as bringing a clueless country bumpkin in." He looked over to her and smiled. "Don't worry the agent's just jealous of how cute you are."

"That's not it," Acacia stated. "I'm sure I can defend myself if there is an attack. If not I'm intelligent enough to stay out of the way. I only pick fights I'll win."

"Really then should we go a few rounds?" she asked.

"That's enough." Steve walked into the room and relief flooded through Acacia. "I'll handle everything. Let's eat dinner first though."

He let a bright and convincing smile cross his face, but his body seemed tense to Acacia. Everyone in the room took a deep breath as the machine announced it was time for dinner. Acacia had a feeling that there were more tension filled moments to come.

So it's been a long time since I have posted on this story, but I finally have everything sent in for my college applications and I feel relaxed now. So I'm going to be making the chapters shorter, so hopefully I can update sooner. If you would rather wait a long time for longer chapters let me know. I'll try to avoid cliffhangers as much as possible, but sometimes they'll be in there…

Thank you for reading!

Please drop me a review! I would really appreciate it. I'm also more likely to update sooner!
