"Speaking"
Previously, in Pretty Boy Troubles:
As they were walking back to their house, suddenly, a silver-haired jonin jumped down from the roofs to land in front of Kira, causing all three girls to whip out a kunai at the threat. The jonin was donned the standard attire of a jonin, but the strange thing was, he wore a mask that obscured the lower-half of his face, and his hitai-ate was tilted to the left, covering his left eye.
With a look of shock and disbelief in his visible eye, the jonin asked, "Kira...? Is that you?"
Her dark blue eyes hardening, Kira answered, "Hatake Kakashi, long time no see."
The previously unknown jonin, now known as Kakashi, said, "Yeah... Haven't seen you in a long time either..." And that's only because you refused to! "So... what brings you back to Konoha?"
Kira's eyes narrowed dangerously, but motioned for her nieces to keep their kunai, and replied, "Personal business, Hatake-san." Hurt flashed across the masked nin's visible eye as he heard the formal address, but was quickly hidden.
"And I would like it very much if you could address me by my last name instead of my first. After all, I left Konoha ten years ago, and I'm sure that many things have changed," stated Kira.
You always knew how to hold a grudge, Kira-chan... Kakashi sighed inwardly, and replied with one of his patented close-eyed smiles, "Of course, Hyukinari-san! Would you introduce me to these two lovely young kunoichi?"
Same as always, Kakashi, same as always... Kira held back a sneer and gave Kakashi a curt nod, before introducing Hakiri and Taidana, "Hatake-san, this are my nieces Hyukinari Hakiri, and Hyukinari Taidana. Hakiri, Taidana, this is Hatake Kakashi, Konoha's famous Copy Nin, and one of my old..." Kira hesitated, and Kakashi's hopes went up, "...acquaintance." Kakashi visibly deflated.
The two younger girls nodded.
Kira looked like she was about to burst in anger at Kakashi's appearance. Sensing the obvious tension, Taidana and Hakiri both said a hasty goodbye to the copy nin before hurriedly pushing their aunt towards their house.
Kakashi's obsidian eyes stared longingly after the raven-haired beauty who was being dragged by her nieces. A memory from eleven years ago flashed into his mind...
Flashback
A fifteen year old Kira was resting her head on the shoulder of a fifteen year old Kakashi. They were both resting in a large clearing which was filled with beautiful flowers.
Kakashi picked a flower from beside him and placed it into Kira's hair, simultaneously brushing away a stray lock of hair. Kira smiled and lay down on Kakashi's lap while he ran his fingers through her hair.
Flashback end
Kakashi sighed at the memory, before heading back to his own apartment.
With the Hyukinaris...
As soon as Kakashi was out of sight, Taidana and Hakiri let go of Kira, who stomped into the house just as the renovation workers came out. They scurried out of the small compound like frightened rats. Hakiri stopped one of them and paid them the money necessary before entering as well.
Inside the house, it was beautifully furnished, with all the furniture that they had picked. The house gave off a cosy feeling, but it also had a hint of wealth. Kira stomped over to the sofa and huffily sat down.
"Calm down, Kira-neesan," soothed Hakiri, sitting down on the sofa as well, but not as angrily as Kira.
Woah, two honorifics in a day! This is the most I've heard Hakiri-nee use so many honorifics in a day! Usually, she only uses it for her higher-ups... Taidana pondered.
"Who was that Kakashi guy, anyways?" asked Taidana, sitting on the armrest of the sofa.
Kira glared.
"What? We know you weren't telling the truth when you said he was your acquaintance... "Taidana defended her statement.
Turning to her nieces, Kira sighed, "Fine. We were friends when your father and I moved to Konoha. I was 11 when we moved. He was a chunin then, and so was I. We became friends, then after three years, we started dating until we were 16."
"Why'd you break up? I can imagine you'd look good together..." Hakiri trailed off when she saw Kira's menacing glare.
"I was getting to that, gaki!" Kira hissed angrily.
"The month before we were going to move back to Suna, something bad happened... Then I moved back to Suna and have never spoken to him again..." Kira continued, seemingly trailing off, getting lost in her memories.
Seeing their aunt get a glazed look in her eyes, the two sisters returned to Hakiri's room where the furnishing and painting were already done, to chat.
"So, what we know is that Kira-neesan had a boyfriend, something happened, she returned to Suna, and never spoke to him again for 10 years. Well, that's harsh..." stated Taidana.
"But what happened? And why would Kira-neesan still be angry with him? After all, it's been TEN YEARS..." Taidana mused.
"Unless... She still likes him?!" Hakiri gasped in realisation.
They turned to each other with a mischievous gleam in their brightly coloured eyes. Taidana smiled deviously and said, "Okay, what shall we do to get them back together?"
"We-ell, since they both obviously still like each other, we can just let nature run its course. They're bound to get back together... So, if they're not by the time the Chunin Exams are over, then we can think about having a plan. For now, lets' just sit back, relax, and let the fireworks begin!" Hakiri grinned.
Giggles erupted throughout the room.
After chatting for a few more hours, the two realised that it was almost time for dinner, so Taidana returned to her own room while Hakiri took a shower.
As Kira had booked a reservation in one of Konoha's finest restaurants, Hakiri chose to wear a sleeveless cream-coloured satin dress. A smattering of small sequins and gems were sewn onto the lacy top part of the dress, making in shimmer slightly. The skirt of the dress was layered beautifully and came down to the middle of her calves. Her tiny waist was accentuated by a thick black ribbon tied at front of her dress. She wore a pair of white heels. Her hair was tied in an elegant knot, with just a hint of eyeliner and lip gloss on her face.
(A/N: I'm sorry for adding so many author notes, but just in case, if any of you are wondering, unless it's something formal, the characters will be wearing modern clothing rather than kimonos, because I'm not good at describing those. And if I'm being too specific about the details, please let me know. Thanks. Now, on with the story!)
Kira was dressed in a black long-sleeved dress that clung to her torso while the bottom part of the dress flowed freely. There were some dark blue accents in the dress, matching Kira's hair perfectly. The modest neckline of the dress hinted at Kira's admittedly slightly larger than average bosom by revealing the tiniest bit of cleavage. She paired the outfit with black heels.
Taidana was in a red tube top dress that reached to her knees. Like Kira's dress, it clung to her torso and flowed out freely at the bottom. The outfit was paired with white heels.
Then they left for dinner.
At the restaurant, the waiter at the entrance led them to their table, bowing as he went away.
"Kira? Is that you?" a feminine voice rang out from behind them.
"Déjà vu..." Hakiri muttered under her breath.
They all turned to see a fairly tall and light-skinned woman of slender build. She had long, black, shoulder-length untamed hair, and very unique eyes that were red in colour. She wore a very broad material which resembles bandages with a pattern on it similar to those of rose thorns over a red mesh armour blouse with only the right sleeve visible.
Upon seeing the lady, Kira smiled widely, exclaiming, "Kurenai!"
She got up to hug Kurenai, who hugged her back just as tightly. Kira stepped back to look at Kurenai and grinned, "Jonin eh? Last time I saw you, you were still a chunin. That was..."
"5 years ago," Kurenai supplied.
"Ah, right," Kira nodded.
"Ah hem," Taidana cleared her throat loudly.
"Oh that's right. Kurenai, let me introduce you to my two nieces, Hakiri and Taidana, "Kira introduced, pointing to them respectively.
"It's nice to meet you, Kurenai-san," the two girls greeted politely.
"It's nice to see you both. Do you remember me? I used to play with you two when you were kids, when I went over to Suna on missions, "Kurenai smiled.
"Uh... I don't actually remember..." Hakiri racked her brains for at least a vague memory of Kurenai, but to no avail.
"It's ok. Remember Kure-neesan?" asked Kurenai.
An expression of realisation dawned on both sisters' faces, "Oh, so that was you?"
Receiving a nod for an answer, Taidana continued, "So can we still call you Kure-neesan?"
Kurenai grinned, and replied, "Of course, unless I become your sensei."
Kira invited Kurenai to have a seat at their table. The two female jonins chatted for a while before ordering their food. While Hakiri and Taidana were eating, they heard a specific topic of conversation that sparked their interest.
"So, have you seen him yet?" Kurenai asked in a soft voice.
Kira glared at her, and answered her question, but not before stealing a quick glance at her two nieces, who immediately resumed eating, "Yes, I have. Just this afternoon in fact."
Crimson eyes growing wide, Kurenai leaned forward in anticipation, "And?"
"And what?" Kira scowled angrily, marring her beautiful features.
"Kurenai shot Kira a knowing look.
"What? He said hi, I said bye, and that was it." replied Kira.
Kurenai shook her head, and sighed, "Still holding up on that grudge, I see. How many times have we tried to tell you that Anko put a genjutsu over him? A multi-layered one at that! We had a Yamanaka read her mind... "
"What?! Never!" Kira huffed angrily at this revelation.
Kurenai shrugged noncommittally.
Hakiri and Taidana grinned.
