Chapter Five: "The wicked witch drinks coffee."

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, causing his eyebrows to quirk up. I sighed, running a hand through my hair carefully so the pen wouldn't fall out. "I mean, aren't you afraid that you're gonna get attacked by a bunch of your fans?" I was never this bold with anyone, so I surprised even myself right now.

He held up the hat and shades, "That's what the disguise was for, duh." I gave him the look. You know the 'are you serious right now' look. He had to be kidding me!

"Eddie, a hat and some shades isn't gonna automatically make you unnoticeable." Yes, I was scared shitless about being in the mere presence of him, but I didn't want to come off that way. He had a girlfriend anyways, so I should be acting normal.

So why is your heart beating so fast?

"Well, I know that, but I was just coming out for some coffee. They couldn't possibly interrupt me with that." He said sarcastically, putting back on his 'disguise'.

I only nodded, "Yeah, well, what can I get for you?" I tried my best to be professional as I held up my notepad. Unfortunately, my hands starting shaking, so I gripped the pen tighter so he wouldn't notice.

"Where did you learn to sing like that?" I was starting to write it down, but then I realized what he said. I shook my head, blushing from embarrassment.

"What?"

"Where did you learn to sing like that?" He repeated.

I raised an eyebrow, putting my hand on my hip. "I don't think that's on the menu…"

He only chuckled. "I'm sorry, it's just, your voice…" I nodded, meaning for him to go on. "I don't know. It was really amazing that night. Where did you learn how to sing like that?"

I could feel my cheeks burn like a furnace, "U-Um, nowhere that I know of."

"Well, you're really great at it."

"Are you flirting with me Eddie Duran?" I asked before I could catch myself. What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I being so bold all of a sudden?

This time, he was the one blushing. "What? N-No, I have an um, I have a girlfriend so…"

I laughed, "Only jokes Eddie, only jokes."

"So, did you have fun that night?"

Why was he asking me all of these questions?

"Yeah, I never expected it to happen. It was a pretty cool experience."

"That's good; I really wish you would get some recognition, though."

I smiled slightly, "Well, actually, I was interviewed by a radio show this morning."

His mouth dropped open in shock, before a smile spread across his face. Oh, God. "Seriously? That's amazing, Loren!"

I took a good look at him, surprised he even knew my name! He just continued to shock me over the short period of time that I've met him. He made my life feel like something magical all of a sudden; like Cinderella. Was I dreaming?

"What?" He asked.

Before I could reply, my boss came over, inspecting me through his giant bifocals. "More working than talking, I assume, Ms. Tate?"

I nodded my head, putting on a tight smile. "Yeah Mr. Walsh, of course," When he walked away, I blew out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I looked over at Eddie, slightly smirking. "Getting me in trouble already, eh?"

He blushed once more, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh yeah, sorry about that," he laughed slightly, "a coffee?"

"You sure?"

He laughed slightly, "Positive."

I had only thirty minutes left of my shift, and I was basically shouting for joy. It has been a long stressful day, from irritating kids to Eddie showing up, and I was beyond tired. Today has been eventful, and I was ready to take a long shower and cuddle into bed in a sea of pillows.

The door sounded, notifying that either a customer was coming in or out. By the sound of the chair scraping, I guessed in. Business had slowed down, which was expected. Only two other workers were here, and they were catering to other people. So, being the nice person I am, I walked over to her. The girls back was turned, but her blonde locks and tanned skin was evident.

"Hi, um, miss…?"

When she turned around, I internally groaned. How many celebrities was I gonna run into today? I didn't even have the energy to be shocked, angry, or excited. I really just wanted to lie down and fall into an endless sleep.

"Hi." She said dryly, catching me off guard a bit. I recovered, placing the rehearsed smile back on my face. "Don't you look… appealing." I looked down at my outfit, which looked like a fucking disaster. I looked back at her with a frown on my face.

"Um… thanks?"

She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, yeah." She looked at my nametag, and her eyes widened slightly. "You're Loren Tate?"

I stood awkwardly, shrugging my shoulders. "Um, yeah, that's me…" How the hell did she know my name?

"Oh, you're the one who pulled that karaoke stunt with Eddie."

I looked around weirdly, "It wasn't a stunt…"

"Right," she said as if she didn't believe me, "anyways, I hope you enjoyed that time while it lasted sweetheart. Nine times out of ten, it won't happen again." I almost chocked on my own spit as I looked at her with saucer like eyes.

What the fuck pissed in her Christian Louboutin's?

"Get me some coffee; decaf." She flicked her wrist in my direction, and then got out her iPhone, tapping away. I stood there for a second before stalking off.

So the wicked witch drinks coffee, huh?

Sorry the chapter was so short, and it took so long to update! Next chapter will be soon and somewhat long, lol. (This was actually three pages in word, lol)
