"So," Penny said as she put on an earring, "are we going to tell them?"
There baby girl was on her bouncer bouncing and giggling away. Leonard was making faces at her not looking away he answered, "tell them about what?" She wiggled her ring finger, on it was a shiny gold wedding band. "Oh, that..." He started looking up at Penny, "yeah I guess we should. I mean there bound to find out eventually, so lets just tell them tonight. Ok?"
"Yeah, ok…" Penny looked at her daughter and smiled, she is so cute. Penny recalled the moment they decided to get married.
"Leonard," Penny said, she was eight months pregnant, "come here." She patted the empty space next to her.
They were sitting in their new apartment two floors away from her old one. It was much bigger, about the size of Leonard's old apartment, which Sheldon now lived alone in. Using Leonard's bedroom as his own personal train room.
"Ok, love bug!" He smiled, walking over to her sitting down. "Do you want me to rub your feet?" She nodded. "K, put them up." He patted his lap, Penny swung her legs up on his lap, he began to rub.
"Ah! That feels better, thanks." Her feet were so swollen they could only fit in her Uggs, it was September though, but thankfully for Penny it had been a chilly one so Uggs were appropriate.
It had been very stressful for the last eight or so months Penny thought. In the beginning of the year work had started to lay off people, she was informed that she was going to be one of them. So to show that she did not deserve to be laid off, she worked her ass off.
Smiling even when she was not happy, bringing refills with out the customer having to ask many times, bringing them fresh bread with out being asked, actually remembering the specials on the menu that day and bringing the check when they asked.
For the last three months Penny did this and it payed off. She was promoted to assistant manage. Penny was great-full for this because it meant a twenty percent raise, and she did not have to serve people food any more. Sheldon was not very happy with this though but he learned to accept the fact that Penny was moving up in the world. She introduced them to a new and better waitress, Sheldon ended up liking her better, offending Penny... Some what.
Then to add to all the stress with almost losing her job, was learning that she was pregnant. The day she found out Leonard had actually persuaded her to go to the doctor because he feared that she had a high blood pressure. Penny didn't want to go but he promised her that they would go out to the bar and drink later, if she went.
When she went the nurse told her she had high blood pressure and that they would need to run more tests to see what caused it. The tests would take five to ten business days to know why she had high blood pressure. They had to get sent out for all the different tests.
But no more than a hour later her doctor called and told her that she was pregnant.
Penney was in disbelief when she heard the news because she just went in to see if she had high blood pressure but came out being pregnant. It was a good thing she listened to Leonard because they would not be were they are today if he didn't make her go. She was thankful for that.
"Leonard," Penny said. After he was rubbing her feet for a while, "I was thinking," she hesitated, "will you marry me, today?" Penny looked at him hoping that she did not sound crazy.
He looked at her smiling. "You're serious aren't you?"
"Yeah I am." She thought about the pact they made four years ago. Penny felt like it was the whole nine yards, what more could he ask for? They were at the happiest place they had ever been in their relationship, she was pregnant, it was perfect she thought. Penny definitely swept him off his feet, metaphorically, catching him by surprise like this was perfect.
"Yes." He said getting up to kiss penny, "yes!" Leonard shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Oh my gosh!" Penny said in complete disbelief as she got up, "we are going to get married today!"
"Ok," Leonard answered nervously, he was becoming overwhelmed. "Do you want to get dressed up or go as is?" He looked at her, he was about two inches away from her lips, then they met and stayed together for a few minutes.
"I'm going to put on a dress." Penny stated after they had finished kissing. She was walking over to the closet, "my one request, Leonard hofstader, is that you don't wear a jacket. I wanna see those arms."
"Ok, request done." He threw off his jacket, "how do I look?" He twirled around in a mockery of the pageant kids.
"Hot," Penny said prenteing to fan herself. "I'm going to get dresses then I'll meet you in the car ok?"
Leonard looked at her, "are you sure you will be ok waking down the stairs. You remember what happened last time, don't you?"
She did she was just around four months pregnant, and trying to run to work.
Penny was late because her skirt barely zipped, at the restaurant they were in the process of finding bigger clothes for her.
As she was running down the stairs, her foot got cought under a piece of lifted up rug, which caused her to fall backwards down a flight of stairs. She landed on her back side, it hurt, but as she started to get up she remembered that she was pregnant. Penny started to yell for Leonard, he came and rushed her to the hospital. They were both fine, her and the baby.
"Yeah, I do. But I'm not going to run down the stairs and I'm going to hold on to the railing, okay." She felt like she was being nagged by her parents.
"Ok, that's fine. I will be in the car waiting for you." Leonard started to leave but then her turn back around to give Penny a quick kiss.
She smiled, "I love you." Penny looked at him, she was just so happy that this was really happening.
"I love you too." He gave her one final kiss and left the apartment so she could get dressed in some nice clothes.
Penny felt like the luckiest girl when they got married.
"Yeah ok?" Leonard said in a questioning tone, "do you not want to tell them that we got married four months ago without any of them?"
Penny just stared at Leonard. He did have a point. They should have told them they got married, but it was on the fly, planed as it happened.
She was not guilty that no one knew. But Penny thought Leonard was, maybe he was right. But then again it's Christmas and she does not want to make anyone feel bad on such a happy and joyful holiday.
"I kinda feel like I'm goin to crush Amy's tiny little spirt and I don't want to do that, not today." Penny took off her earring realizing that her daughter would try to rip them out.
Leonard picked her up, "Penny, I really think we should tell them because there going to want to know why you and I have gold bands on our ring finger."
She looked at her hand, then at Leonard's. An idea popped in her head, she smiled, "not if we don't have them on." Penny said reaching her hands out for their daughter, Leonard gave her to Penny.
"Hey sweetie pie!" She said in a baby voice trying to avoid Leonard's answer because she knew she was not going to favor it.
He looked around the apartment for an answer. "We can take the rings off at first then, we announce we got married." Leonard looked at Penny she nodded in approval and so did their daughter. "I am very glad that our daughter has a say in everything we do now." He smiled.
"Yes, she is very opinionated she gets that from her mommy." Penny placed the baby in the car seat and began to tickle her stomach, she was laughing.
"And she gets the curly hair from her daddy," he was making faces at their daughter, she was now laughing harder if that was even possible.
Penny interrupted their cute family moment by saying, "that's what we will do then, I guess," she paused, "Right?" She looked at Leonard.
He waited a second to respond then answered, "yeah I guess so." Leonard looked at the door, "we should probably leave now because they don't live right around the corner."
"Right, I almost forgot." Penny was looking around the room for something, "just let me get the diaper bag and then we will leave." She found the bag and opened the door, walking right out of the apartment.
"Forgetting something," Leonard said looking at her while taping his foot, hoping that she would see what was she forgot.
"No it looks like I have every thing I need," she answered as she looked threw her bag and leaning against the door frame.
"Our daughter!" Leonard looked at Penny once it registered.
"Oh yeah, can you get her I don't have any hands." She showed him her hands for proof.
"I was going to take her any way." He laughed.
"That's cruel, Leonard Hofstadter." Penny smiled, she was joking of course.
"Careful to trash the Hofstadter name because remember, you are one." He smiled, "forever!" Leonard said laughing wiggling his ring finger.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. The next up date should be soon. Don't forget to review. And thanks for the reviews on the last chapter. :)
