A/N: Finally coming to a close with this story. Thanks for all the support! Expect major changes to Zweihander and the continuation of Passionately Aggressive Part 2.
I thanked the shopkeeper for the supplies and walked out, the ring snug on my finger. As I pulled out my Teleport Crystal, I closed my eyes and looked back at my time trapped in Eincrad, a bit of an enigma wracking my brain.
I've gone through what most adults have never experienced in their lives. I've been lured into an online game and sort of kidnapped by its crazy creator, trapped in a world where death was almost certain... and here I was, having the time of my life. Most people were suffering, missing their loved ones, missing their friends who were killed. But here I was, picking up supplies for a beautiful girl whom which I had been "married" to for just a few weeks.
Luck in this sort of situation seemed all but impossible. Simply put, I had mixed feelings. I wracked my brain for the right words, when something- I don't know what, exactly- made me look up at the sky. I lowered my eyes, wondering why I would do such a thing, when I heard it.
As of 14:55, November 7, the game has been cleared.
I dropped the boxes of supplies suddenly (sound familiar?), my heart racing. I couldn't help but smile as my eyes bulged out of my sockets.
Holy crap. Someone actually freaking did it. The message played over and over as I felt heavy, by body collapsing, about to lose consciousness. Liz... damn it Liz... where are you...?
...
Did we really... did we really do that?
I'd say so... you enjoyed it right?
Of course I did. Sure, I was shaky when we started but...
Hey, I was nervous too. Don't worry about it.
Rika?
Hm?
I love you. So much.
I love you too... when we get out of here... I...
Shh. I'll find you. I swear to God I'll find you...
You have my number, right? Call my parents. We can work it out there.
Shouldn't be too hard, I look like this in real life.
Not me, obviously. My hair isn't naturally pink. It's brown, but I still have freckles, and...
...
I can hear him brea...at?
Is he actuall...
...Bara...BARA...!
I opened my eyes slowly, my head pounding like a drum. Or something. It was hard to tell with my vision being clouded. Something was over me... or someone. As my vision cleared, I looked to my right, half-expecting to see my parents. When I realized that it was a nurse, I realized where I was and tried my best to say something. My voice was raspy (there was no question why) and I only said: "...Shit... I'm starving."
Then I felt tears drip on my chest as she grabbed me, her arms wrapped around my neck.
"Baraki! I'm so happy, so-"
"Rika… you're crushing me…"
I still couldn't really comprehend what was going around me, but I found out later that it took about three nurses to pry Liz off of me so I could be examined. Aside from the obvious problems with my lungs (and of course, a cavity or two), I checked out perfectly healthy. As I sat on my bed, waiting for my vision to clear, Rika sat down next to me.
"The nurse called your parents, they should be here soon."
"Great. Now they can find out how my lungs are doing and give me one hell of a beating for smoking." I opened the bento provided for me.
She rested her head on my shoulder. "I don't think so; apparently, they were in tears finding out that you were okay." I felt her fingers explore my hair. "You need a haircut."
"No surprise there. How long were we in there?"
She held my cheeks in her hands, and my vision suddenly cleared. I saw her, the devious smile that I loved on her face, her hair now a beautiful shade of brown. Tears stung my eyes.
"That doesn't matter right now." She pinched my cheeks. "What matters is that it's over."
"What happened? I thought I was the one who was supposed to find you?"
She let go of my cheeks and held my hands. "There are thousands of people who were still in comas after it happened. It's been about two weeks."
Two weeks? I was unconscious for that long? Just thinking of how Liz must have felt finally waking up and finding out that I was still out made me cringe. As if knowing what I was thinking, she continued.
"As soon as I got out, I called every single hospital in the area looking for you. It was a lot of searching, but it was worth it." She leaned in and kissed me. "When I found out you were in a coma, I was worried, but I knew you would come out of it soon. I knew you were tough enough to pull through."
I smirked, not bothering to hold back the tears. "You're putting way to much faith in me, you know."
She started crying as well, much to my dismay. She leaned in again, but we didn't kiss, only touched foreheads. Relieved. Excited for the future. Happy because we were finally home.
...
Yes, it all ended on a happy note. Guy is trapped, guy gets girl, guy and girl get out together. I doubt I'll ever forget my time in that blissful hell, the amazing and awful experiences tied into it. All I know is is that life will never be the same. Yes, more cliches.
"Arkham! Are you coming?" Rika asked.
"What? Going where?" Baraki responded.
"I told you about this before; Asuna and Kirito found something we can all do together! It's just like Eincrad, but..."
Baraki left his journal on the table as the rain continued outside.
"What? It's another Eincrad?"
"Yeah, but it's safer. I promise!"
I thought I promised myself I would never end up in that game again, he thought. She looks so happy, though...
"Alright, alright. Where to?" His reaction made Rika smile deviously and take his hand.
Another experience in a game with her, eh? He thought. He smiled as she led him away...
...Yes, he could do that...
...Most definitely.
