Chapter Eleven
By the time Skye had crossed the bay, a heavy storm was thundering down over the city. Her long now blue hair blew behind her in the wind, her clothes soaked through with the rain though she kept walking.
Every so often she tuned into the voice that was calling her, keeping her own thoughts guarded as she used it as a guide, changing direction as required. The voice slowly led her out of the main city though she stayed mainly along the coastline in the growing darkness.
It took her hours to reach the isolated bay where Tam's voice seemed to peak, the waves crashing hard against the cliffs and the wind whipping up over the open land surrounding it. She spotted a familiar, dark figure standing on the edge of the cliff looking over the waves, his eyes on the sky as the lightning flashed.
Skye forced a smile into her voice as she approached him slowly, using their mental connection since any words aloud were bound to be drowned out by the storm.
"...you used to make them flash for me when I was sad..."
Tam turned sharply at the voice, unable to resist staring as his eyes settled on Skye stood just behind him. He flicked her eyes slowly up and down her body, before moving to her and pulling her protectively against his chest.
"I thought I'd lost you...you stupid..."
"Hello would have been nicer..."
"I've been looked everywhere...where has he been keeping you? Why didn't you call for me?"
Skye didn't answer, tensing a little in his arms and drawing away. Tam frowned at her, one hand finding her wrist to keep her close to him. Skye whimpered at the pain when the bands had previously been, going to argue as Tam rolled her sleeve down and glowered at the wound, the lightning flashing behind him.
"Who did this to you? Him?"
Tam's lips curled when he saw her expression.
"And why are you looking at me like that? You should be happy. I'd tear this world apart for you, to take you home, keep you safe...have that life we planned...the life we wanted..."
"Tam...I'm not going anywhere...I..."
"You have a lover...it's the only reason you'd be like this...I can forgive it...if you come home now"
Skye clicked her tongue at him, drawing away from him again to step closer to the edge of the cliff. Her eyes settled out on the sea as she tried to get herself back in control, the wind howling in her ears. Tam sighed softly, moving behind her and setting his hands on her waist. He gently nuzzled against her throat, touching his lips to her ear so she could hear his voice aloud.
"You and me...like it's meant to be..."
"You're my brother. Here that's..."
"We don't *belong* here, Kila..."
"Skye. I...it's Skye now...and *I* belong here. Don't you see that?"
Tam sighed, gently stroking her hips as he held her against him, looking out at their storm. Skye shifted awkwardly in his grip.
"You belong with me. I'm going home, and you're coming with me. We're two halves of a whole, we're meant to be together. I'll do anything for you, you know that surely?"
"Then leave."
