Chapter 3

Broken Angel

It was probably morning when Kanda woke up to the sound of the front door opening and slightly loud conversation. Breathing was hard as his lungs burned with every short gasp he managed. His body ached and sharp jolts of pain shut through him. He was also shivering for some reason.

He continued lying there in what could only be described as agony trying to find comfort. Moving hurt. He was able to catch small snippits of conversations, enough for him to know that all three brothers were back home but he couldn't stay conscious for long. Through his gasps and croaks for pain free air he found himself blacking out, again.

**YOLO**

When Kanda woke again he found himself feeling numb. His entire body was drained of energy and just was left feeling heavy. He needed to go out. His head was throbbing and he was left feeling light headed due to that. With some effort he pushed himself up with his elbows behind him but immediately fell back gasping and groaning in pain.

His left arm was left trembling and the intense jolts of pain that he felt from his arm alerted him to the possibility of a dislocated joint. He gulped and tried again trying with his legs instead but fell back as soon as he bent his knees gasping with that as well as when he fell on his definitely bruised back. His left Arm was probably broken and so was his right leg apparently.

He almost passed out again but he needed to get up. From the noise that he made from te pain and the fact that nobody entered his room most likely meant that nobody was in. He needed to immediately get to a hospital then see where things would go from there.

Pushing himself up proved to be agonising and he found himself gasping from the crippling pain, his body trembling with the effort and he collapsed a few times before being able to keep himself stable. He surpressed a groan before moving himself slowly to the door. His entire body burned and he felt himself collapse tremble and collapse against the door before he could open it.

He couldn't breathe, his lungs burnt. Everything hurt so badly. One would think that he'd been used to this abuse but apparently not. He gasped dragging himself up the door using is right hand to open the door and support himself. He limped weakly falling onto walls supporting himself. The next challenge would be how to get down the stairs.

****YOLO*****

He had been surprised when he had managed to open the front door and was greeted by a thin viel of snow. The landscape was white with dents from footsteps and car tires. Cold had assaulted him on exit and he found himself limping cautiously in the snow/slush. He had fallen twice and by the way people approached him asking if he was ok he found himself getting frustrated of his weakness. Did he look that bad?

When they asked him and approached him on whether or not he was alright he just asked where the closet hospital. He couldn't go too far. His vision was already swirling and black dots were appearing.

By the time he made it to a hospital he went to the reception, gave his details and thankfully they didn't ask for him to sit and fill any papers as they took one look at him before immediately seeing him. He must have looked like shit.

Currently he was lying on the hospital bed, the same tube connected to the back of his hand and the similar white walls surrounding him, only difference being some extra paint and wallpapers. They had immediately taken him to x-ray.

There they had found out that he was skin and bones.

And from the x-ray scans they had showed him that his right knee was dislocated, and two ribs with fractures. Overall the doctors said that because he was still young his bones were still a bit malleable and weren't likely to break like a fully developed adult.

When asked how though he had simply said that he was hit by a car. His eyes hollow as he repeated a phrase that may have been too reused in his life. He had also found out that he had been unconscious for a whole day when he checked the date in the hospital. Two days had passed.

They had also cleaned and covered some bruises, along with giving him some meds. This would probably be expensive. They didn't want to give him meds in case he would go into shock. If anything that was what he wanted.

They said they'd contacted his family that he would have to stay for a while in recovery. And apparently his mother answered and said she'd be there immediately. He tuned her out at that. Now it was left to the usual routines.

He just sighed. It would be a long time for recovery.

And hiding it would be a bitch.

***YOLO***

A whole two weeks, Even a month could pass with him in recovery. Nobody would come and visit him, the person who had been 'hit by a car' but was actually beaten to an unconscious state with a baseball bat by his mother. Nobody would come to visit him. Not Lavi, not Lenalee, Chaoji, Daisya or Marie not even Tiedoll.

Not one person. He also couldn't be discharged from the hospital without a legal adult and he couldn't move. His thoughts had gotten darker and darker. Darker to the point where he had unplugged something connected to himself. A nurse had entered and freaked out and from the way he was being watched.

He would leave. He needed to. He couldn't live this life any more. Too much suffering.

It was around early morning, He found himself part limping half running and a third tripping. The pain killers in his system were strong and numbing that he couldn't feel anything anymore.

He was negligible. So small and important that he wasn't even worth considering

He had planned it out. Frim days of warching snow and rain fall he had formed an ideal image. Thought about exactly how everything would go. How simple would everything be. How easy it would be as well.

It would hurt but the pain killers in his stsrem would make it so much easier.

Kanda gasped gripping on to the gate feeling the cold fence between his fingers. He continued stumbling past the fence watching the thick clumps of snow.

Despite this all, Central park remained beautiful. It was quite sad really but this felt like the perfect place for him. He knew exactly what he wanted. Nobody would notice as nobody really ventured to that part of central park during the cold seclusion of the night.

His feet trudged further through the snow as his footsteps slowed almost to a halt.

Finally he was standing at the edge of the lake. Trembling from such a mix of cold and pain.

But he needed the pain. He'd lived off it and grown accustomed to the pain.

His memories encouraged him to jump

The pain of his life encouraged him to make that leap.

And he did.

He uttered a quiet prayer feeling his emotions finally spill out after 16 years of neglect and he jumped into the lake finding it deeper than he had thought. Either way it was less likely for him to fail.

Afterall, he couldn't swim and the cold should succeed in murdering him a million times over. As soon as his body hit the iced layer and broke it he felt painful stabs of pain. Jolt s that made him gasp and scream in agony only making him gulp in water and struggle to breath. His instincts kicked in forcing him to try and swim and take in much needed oxygen to avoid asphyxiation.

After struggling for a while he was left gasping but quickly finds his strength diminishing. His hands reached for the surface and he felt his joints stiffening.

A disturbed smirk forming across his face at a freedom he could now reach for.

But the last thing he felt though was a pair of warm hands wrapping around his like the cherishing hold of a dear friend.

And the last thing he saw being a pair of silver eyes focused on him.

But it still felt like freedom

***YOLO****

The usual day for Allen Walker, 15 year dedicated and hardworking honor student consisted of him waking up in the morning, eating breakfast, going to school then from there, work before finally home.

The difference today however was that he had taken a mini detour to buy some drinks and pick up a small suitcase.

The day had been the usual slightly headache inducing day but more free with the fact that his school holidays had now officially started. Earlier than most schools and most people even in hiss school due to his grades.

After all he was Allen Walker school 'freak' and genius who would do close to anything for extra point to add to his resume, as well as close to anything for spare cash. And freak or not he wasn't really hated or bullied because of it. It just became a nickname like 'you know, that freak that was in gym today'. If anything he was mostly ignored to go about his own way.

School had just been let out and he didn't need to return to work for a while so he currently had taken a temporary job as a critique for NYC hotels. Not far from home, free food and a nice place to stay for a few days. Not a bad deal huh. That and he had officially finished his last role as student council president and passed it on to someone else. More spare time at last and a part of his stress elevated.

Anyway, as he made his way through the snow fully buttoned up against the weather he caught sight of a person limping past, lightly dressed for such weather. He quickly found his curiosity perked from the unusual sight. Was someone attacked?

He found himself following in the direction and found himself wondering if that was a good thing or bad thing. He could get lost easily and curiosity was known to have tricked, captured and murdered he innocent cat before butchering it a displaying its inwards for sale to make a point.

From the entrance behind some trees he just managed to just in time see the person climb over and jump into the frozen lake beneath. Allen barely had enough time to register any shock.

He quickly found himself shedding his thick coat and dropping his shopping bags before he ran after him. The exposure to the air was cold enough but the lake was just murder. Curses for his martyr personality.

Without hesitation Allen dived into the lake after the other person. The pain registered immediately making him almost black out. He found himself gritting his teeth trying to focus on the other person who struggled and flailed weakly.

He just needed to grab them then swim to the surface. And that's exactly what he did. As soon as his hands latched onto the others wrist he kicked upwards struggling but managing to pull up the weight.

He could feel the desperation of survival instinct kick in at the urgency of the situation. Everything hurt and his body was freezing over becoming stiff. If he didn't hurry he'd die, they'd both die. What had he been thinking to jump into a lake during winter.

He desperately kicked up to the surface clutching onto the other person desperately.

Although the lake wasn't frozen over the water felt below zeri degrees. As soon as they both surface broke the surface Allen found himself reaching for anything to pull himself and the supposedly unconscious person next to him onto solid land. He struggled for a while feeling his body becoming numb and stiff. Hypothermia and probably frost bite could set in if he didn't hurry. Allen gasped feeling water re-encase his head with his struggles to reach the land but as soon as he reached it he found his body uncontrollably shivering.

What should he do. He quickly stared at the limp body besides him and felt rise within him. The man wasn't breathing but was shivering. He needed a plan.

He gasped looking around desperately for his things before remembering he had a bottle of brandy in his school bag that he had bout to kick of his vacation. Drinking it could help warm up his body enough to prevent severe hypothermia. Allen quickly shuffled towards the unconscious person to administer CPR. Thank goodness for that extreme first aid class that he had taken.

His hands were becoming stiff but he hurried desperately pushing down on the other person. His fingers were attempting to stick together and turning red; in fact so was the stranger's.

But as soon as he felt the other cough up water and shudder as he expelled his guts he shuffled away to the direction that he found his things.

Thank goodness he had received a few bottles of alcohol from one of his part time jobs.

***YOLO****

Allen found himself lost on what he had done and whether or not it would have helped.

One he had force fed the person some brandy with hopes that it could warm him up internally. Then he had stripped of his loose shirt and covered him in his coat. And now, in his hotel room with complete stranger he had found himself contemplating the others sanity. He was still cold but not to the extreme and the other person remained unconscious but shivering. A good sign that he was still alive and his muscles were trying to keep him warm. Also the red skin also worked as a good indicator.

The question though was, should he have taken him to a doctor instead of to his hotel? Why dod he try to commit suicide? Did he just walk into something dangerous? Allen could feel an upcoming headache forming as he continued shivering and he continued taking a few more gulps of the scotch before it was finished.

Right now though a hot bath would ensure the others health's. His own body was trembling but he was warm enough to only be at risk of a common cold. Carrying another person on your and trying to run was a great form of exercise afterall.

The receptionist had looked at him oddly but after hearing the situation and quickly informed him of his room and arranged hot food, hot chocolate and a hot bath. The sad issue being it took a while to get to the room arranged for him. As soon as he got in he stripped the other of 'his' coat and rushed to the bath which was already arranged with hot water.

And that's when the dark haired teen woke to the heat and he shouted in pain.

***YOLO***

Kanda woke to pain throughout his body. He snapped awake feeling panic settle into him quickly as pain registered in his body that he couldn't even properly register why? He felt dizzy and lightheaded but was suddenly aware that he was naked and someone was holding him down. He started struggling against the other trying to favour his previous injuries but failing. His body stung.

"Wait!" The stranger called out but he ignored it, especially as he felt himself being hugged into a tight grip.

"Please calm down, I'm not going to hurt you" The person said hugging him tighter. Kanda found his eyes widening as a particular jolt of pain spread through the numbness from his arm up. He yelped and froze in place as a wave a dizziness took over and the world started spinning. Him unknowingly allowing himself to be re-submerged in the bath tub.

From there he felt himself give up.

Would this bastard drown him, rape him? What had happened to him? Why couldn't he die?

All he saw was white hair in the fog and dizziness spread. He fell limp and found himself cursing formalities as he was submerged in water and hugged to another's bare chest. Skin on skin contact. Was he naked? Was he going to be forcefully drowned? His body was starting to warm up. He could feel his fingers, toes and joints tingling.

It hurt but he quickly found himself not caring, not caring of what would happen to him anymore.

Being naked meant that he was exposed and no matter what he went through he was never so exposed before, never. He had fractured ribs and bruises all over himself and yet he had been stripped naked by a stranger?. He felt really lightheaded as well.

Could he even fight back? Had he ever been able to before? Kanda bit his lip and felt tremble rack through his body and he gasoed turning his head to the side in shame. His eyesight was useless to the blurring but his mind despite being jumbled shot to conclusions and he remembered the discussion he heard about sex and all his fears of being raped.

And he decided to close his eyes and grit his teeth at his weakness.

This day was bound to come sooner or later. The day when he would be over powered by one of his mums boyfriends or 'friends' and forced to go the full way. The day when his mother would pimp him out fully. And as always he was too weak to do anything. He would just lay there and try to tune all out as he was too weak to fight back and was always overpowered.

And Kanda found himself tunning to the place he felt safe in his mind.

He just wanted whatever was going to happen to him be over and done with. To lose the thing called his virginity and get used to it quickly so that he could be detached long enough to be desensetised to the following years of pain that would be forced on him in similar ways afterwards.

He afterall was less than human that had no choice but to thrive in a sadistically cruel world that would even let him die when he prayed for it.

Before he knew it he passed out plagued by his nightmares and fears unknowing that instead of a cruel demon taunting his prayers with paedophiles, insteadS he had been sent what he would later consider as a broken angel with a cracked mask.

Light headed and delusional. The last thing he could comprehend was silver pupils peering down at him in what he could only describe as care and concern.

#hope you had a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoyed. Found it a bit hard to keep a flow and writing style in this chapter but i did my best. Leave some reviews for me on any ideas and thoughts you have. P.S, thoughts and ideas for what you think Allens job is?

Thanks..
