Disclaimer: I do not own the Twilight series, books, or characters.

A/N: My boyfriend, is going on vacation and I need to have him pre-read my chapters. As well as help my write because he has agreed to be the co-author. (I kind of forced him) Since he knows how to write better stories than me. I also wanted you to know that Peter's first language is not English. So that is why he has many grammar mistakes in his writing.

Also please review if you want Bella to be changed before she meets Edward. Even if the majority believe she should be it might not happen like that. My boyfriend *sigh* is really good with coming up with ideas and since he is the co-writer he and I will decide in the end.

POV: Bella is now about fourteen years and a few months

Well it was official I was the best video game player that I knew. I wasn't to sure about in the rest of the world but I knew that I was one of the best.

I spent a lot of my free time playing on my PS3. I had my fair share of the Assassin's Creed obsessions. But I got over it and moved onto Halo and the other video games available. I made my way quickly through all the games and eventually finished more or less all of them. I knew every little trick and I unlocked every gun, kart, and accessories available. Now I had started a new game, League of Legends. It was totally awesome and I was able to interact with people from all over the world without even seeing them in real life.

Aside from the video games I learnt more about my shield everyday. It seemed that I could block myself from attacks by pushing it out of me but I also had a mental shield. Blocking attacks were a reflex when I felt in danger of my surroundings but the mental shield was always attached to me and I was glad. Sometimes Jane got a little out of hand when we were doing exercises with our talents and I didn't want to be the one to suffer. I knew only to well how much it hurt. That was the one and only time I took my shield down.

"Bella" I was brought out of my thoughts

"Yes?"

"You are needed in the throne room." Santiago pulled me along as I dragged my feet, I didn't exactly want to see Aro. I mean I was okay with him but I just didn't like Aro or his brothers to much. Anyways, I knew that he only kept me so that I wouldn't be a danger to the vampire world. It wasn't like he actually cared for me. I learnt that after he sent my guard away the first time. He didn't care if I was dead, in fact he would be happy if I died.

"Okay" I replied. I walked slowly to the throne room after he let me go. I dragged my feet to my destination, the throne room.

"Bella" Aro clapped his hands, playing a fake expression of happiness.

"Yes" I replied dryly

"I want you to go off to Forks" He announced

"Why?" I was trying to use only one sylabll responses.

"There is a family there and I want you to moniter them. I am worried that they are increasing their numbers to over throw the Volturi." With that I was taken from his presense and moved back to my room.

I was curious about this "family" usually Aro uses the term coven but since he used family it had me intrigued.

"Santiago? Alec? Are you coming along with me for this one?" I asked, not wanting to part with my guards.

"We will be close to you but we are not to come near, in case they catch our scents." Alec replied

"I'm going to miss you." I hugged them both and we were off to this town of Forks.

"We will miss you as well. Take this phone to contact us with" I was handed an Iphone.

Aboard the private jet I thought about the way I felt about the Volturi. They were my family but I didn't like them. I had everything a girl could want btu I was not happy with my life. It was boring now and frankly they didn't exactly treat me nicely. I was never beaten but I was left to my own devices. Usually that wouldn't bother me but I needed a companion; someone that wasn't my guards. Someone that I could tell secrets too. Someone who could be my partner. I was missing a mate. Only half of myself was complete the other half was with my mate and vice versa.

I just hope that I would find my mate soon.

After we finished landing and I had moved into the new house I decided to check the surrounding area. If I was to live here then I would need to know the area in case something were to happen.

During this time I decided to check out the forest; but more importantly, the family that Aro wanted me to check out.

I was walking towards a house in the middle of the forest. I knew it was the family's house because it smelled of vampires. Vampires leave a certain scent to warn other vampires of their territory. They don't leave it intentionally but when they stay in one place for a while it lingers, enough for me to pick up.

I climbed up a tree so I could watch them for a while. I was just resting after a long trip. The family was strange... but what caught my eye was the bronze haired boy that sat at the piano, just staring at it thinking.

I was about to get out before I leaned to far out and fell out of the tree with a thump.
