"Mum, do I HAVE to go to this party?" Merida complained as her mother struggled to get her into a tight dress. "For the last time, Merida, YES!" Queen Elinor scolded. "There! Oh, it does look nice on you, dear!" "It's too tight!" Merida whined. "You'll have to get used to it." Elinor gently scolded. "Why?" Merida asked. "Because, Merida, you're a princess, and you have to learn that image is everything." "But I don't want to be all proper or anything. I want my freedom!" Merida exclaimed desperately. "But are you willing to pay the price your freedom will cost?" Elinor asked. "Anything!" Merida begged. "Well, we'll talk about that later. Right now, you're going to that party!" "Ugh!"

Merida strolled into the party with her arms swinging in front of her as she grumpily pushed past people at the party. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and- BAM! Merida bumped straight into a boy. Both tumbling to the ground, Merida groaned and rubbed her forehead, ready to pound whichever one of her younger brothers had caused this accident. But as she looked at the person across from her, she realized it wasn't one of her brothers. It was a boy her age, with shaggy brown and green eyes. "I-I'm s-sorry." He stuttered, helping her up. "It's alright." Merida said mesmerized by his features. She shook her head. Stop it, Merida! You don't crush on boys! Merida thought to herself. Just then the boy realized who he had just bumped into. "Oh my gosh!" The boy gasped. "Y-you're the princess? I'm so so so sorry!" "I said it's alright!" Merida said, chuckling. "I'm Merida." She said, extending her hand. "I'm Hiccup." Hiccup shook her outstretched hand. Man, he thought. She's really pretty. "W-wanna dance?" Hiccup asked. "Um, sure!" And they danced the rest of the night
