"Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten."

At nearly twenty two years old Gabby knew she shouldn't be crying over some stupid Disney movie about an alien abomination and a young Hawaiian girl, but she just couldn't help it. For each witty one liner in the movie there were three utterly heartbreaking scenes. The movie was just sad, okay? And amazing and hilarious and perfect and probably Gabby's favorite movie ever which, yeah, includes Marvel movies. Sorry Captain America, her heart belongs to a fuzzy blue alien named Stitch.

"Oh, c'mon Gabby. This isn't even that good of a movie!"

Gabby couldn't help it. Her mouth fell into a frown and her forehead creased in concentration. Was Kol being serious? Did he just say Lilo and Stitch wasn't even that good of a movie? Did he really?

"According to the vampire who hasn't even seen The Godfather! Kol, I swear you wouldn't know a good movie if it slapped you!" She huffed and tossed the blanket to the side. So much for a peaceful movie marathon with Kol. He just had to go and ruin it.

"You're overreacting, darling. Now sit back down and let me pick the movie this time."

"Let you pick?" Gabby rolled her eyes. "Yeah, there's a good idea. You'd probably put in a CD by accident. Which, I should add, no one uses anymore. Not unless they really love a certain band. It's all electronic now. And illegal."

"Well if I do put in a CD we could always dance. You do know how to dance don't you?"

"If you're referring to that god awful ball then you can stop right now. I wasn't feeling good."

Kol smirked. "My apologies." He turned his attention back to Klaus' massive collection of movies, feeling utterly lost as he looked at the titles. Sharknado? The Lord of the Rings? A Series of Unfortunate Events? The only series of unfortunate events Kol could see was his older brother's taste in entertainment and clothes. With a sigh of defeat Kol asked, "Another Disney movie?"

Gabby laughed and joined him on the floor. "Aw, does the old man need some assistance."

"No." Kol internally flinched. That one little word came out far more defensive than he intended. "I've just noticed a pattern with you."

"Mhmm. Sure you have." Gabby gave him a kiss on the cheek, wrapping her arms around him. "Just pick one. It doesn't matter. Just… don't put in the Spongebob movie. I've noticed your fascination with that stupid cartoon."

"Stupid?"

"Stupid. Anyone with a brain knows that The Fairly OddParents is far superior in both content and characterization."

Kol smiled, a real smile that only Gabby can get out of him. "And you say I'm a pretentious bastard."

"Yes I do." Another kiss on the cheek and a giggle. "We could always let you catch up on pop culture later." She straddled his lap and grabbed the front of his shirt.

"Gabrielle, there's far more to me than sex-"

"Yeah, there's also your bangin' bod."

Kol sighed. "You humans."

"Mmm, us humans."

"You're insatiable, Gabby." Kol was cut off by Gabby's teeth scraping against his neck. God, it felt good. He shut his eyes and let Gabby lead, not exactly copying her each move but encouraging and reciprocating happily.

Later that night Gabby lay next to Kol in bed, her head resting on his chest. Neither of them were sleeping. Neither of them wanted to sleep. Both of them knew that, come morning, they would have to go right back to pretending they despise each other just so Elena and the rest of the Scooby Gang don't have a little bitch fit. Well, the Scooby Gang minus Matt and maybe Stefan. They wouldn't like it but they'd be the least likely to hold it against Gabby for the rest of eternity. Or until death does the three of them part. Whichever comes first. Kol and Gabby just wanted to be together as long as possible, sleep be damned. But there was part of Gabby, a big part of Gabby, that needed at least an hour of sleep. She had been awake for nearly two days, trying to make the most of her time with Kol.

"Sleep."

"What?" Gabby lifted her head, confusion fogging her mind.

"Sleep. You need it."

"Since when do you care about what I need?" Yeah, so she gets a bit cranky when she hasn't slept for forty-eight hours.

She felt Kol's chest rise and fall in a heavy sigh. "I may say fuck off to the majority of the world- humans and supernatural creatures included- but I do sincerely care for a few select individuals."

"Little like Klaus that way. When's he gonna get with Caroline? That needs to happen. Now."

"I'm nothing like Nik. I'm way more attractive than him."

"If you say so." Gabby yawned and curled back into her previous position. "G'night Kol."

"Good night Gabby."

She hadn't even been asleep a minute when the dream came. Or she assumed it was a dream. It felt oddly… real. Like a memory, something she had lived through. There was a man, one with green eyes that felt like home and soft, curly brown hair. He was kneeling over a woman and Gabby could make out his tears in the dim torch light.

"We will be together. I promise."

His voice. It was so desperate and heart broken. Gabby ached for him just listening. She wanted to tell him not to worry, that everything would be fine eventually. They would be together again if he would just wait patiently. She couldn't. Her voice wouldn't come. It was like she was choking, drowning in water. Tears sprung to her eyes as Gabby began screaming. A name- his name probably- formed on her lips but no matter how loud she got, no matter how many times she repeated his name, he never heard.

Silas- her beautiful, broken Silas- was deaf to her screams and pleas. She yelled one last time, hoping to break through whatever barrier was between them. Silas turned his head, eyes widening in shock.

Just like that the dream ended and Gabby was left alone in the darkness of her own bedroom. Hadn't she just been with Kol. He probably took her home like he always did. No need to worry. Sadly, no matter how many times she repeated that single thought her heart rate never slowed and the image of the green eyed man never left her mind.
