-Tris' POV- "The kids are really quiet, I think the ranking really hit them hard" I said, curling up on the sofa. "You talk about them like their ours" Tobias smiled, he knows I get protective of the intiates we train. "They practically are Tobias, I mean we take them, give them somewhere to live, train them take care of them and a few people get to actually stay, the rest just get flung out on the street, with just the clothes on their backs no money, no job hope, nothing and for what?" I shouted, I hated that about factions. He just sighed. "Tris, that's the system" "Yeah well the system is broken" A heavy silence filled the air. "Well what are we going to do? We can't change the way the city works, its been like this to long and everyone will be against us." He was trying to be calm but that didn't help at all. "I know, but its not fair, for anyone! If you transfer, you never see your family again, if you fail you have to live on the street" I let my voice drop to whisper, the walls of Dauntless apartments are thin, and you never know who's listening "And what about people like us? We live constantly in fear that one day our is going to be ripped down and we'll be killed on the spot and again, for what? No one knows because on one says. It's all swept under the rug and I can't take it anymore!" I steeled myself on the arm of the sofa. I stood up and grabbed my jacket and key. Before Tobias could comment I held up my hand "I need to take a walk" I left and wandered down the corridor, I just needed time to clear my head, I don't know how long I had been walking when I heard voices coming from an abandoned room, I stood still, and strained my ears to hear what was being said. "-be fine, okay I promise" "But what if it's not, the person who did my test said-" "I know what they said, this simulation will be different, its not the same serum. We won't be able to control it" I surged forward into the room, there sat Piper-Leigh and Christina's sister, Piper-Leigh had tears running down her face and Johanna's arm was wrapped around her shoulders. They both looked up at me. Johanna stood up and slowly approched me. "How much of that did you hear?" She asked, she was looking me up and down, assesing wether or not she could fight me. "Enough to know that your Divergents" I said quietly, Piper-Leigh gasped. "How did you know what we're called?" She said suspicously. "Because I'm a Divergent too, I know how you feel. Listen Johanna, you're wrong. Diveregnts can control this simulations, you'll be the only ones who are aware that the simulation is not real." "Then how can we keep this secret?" Johanna asked "If we know its not real won't it be obvious that something is up with us?" I looked around nervously. "Look, we can't talk here. Tommorrow is a free day, come up to the simulation room and I'll show you how to control it" I turned to walk out of the room. "Are there anymore?" I asked, turning back around. "Diveregents, are there anymore?" They shot eachother a look, they didn't trust me yet. It doesn't matter, I don't expect them to. "Be in the simulation room at eleven, make sure no one follows you" I left, shaking in anticipation, so long as we aren't caught. Nothing can go wrong. Author's Note: I'm baaaaaack! My computer broke, but now I have a new one so I can carry on, sorry for the delay. R&R please!
