-the next day( very early that day)
Sinna finally started to wake up. Finding herself in a normal bedroom that was dimly lit. She rubbed her eyes and looked down to her left and saw Seto asleep at her bedside.
" Was Mr. Kaiba watching over me as I slept?" she thought and she tapped him lightly on his hand.
" Mr. Kaiba, how long have you been laying here?" she asked softly and he groaned before looking up at Sinna.
" hm? Oh Sinna you're awake," Seto said in a tired tone.
" How long was I out?" she asked and he yawned.
" About three days," he stated and she looked down.
" I'm sorry," she mumbled and he gave her a questionable look.
" For what?"
"for not doing my job for the past three days. I must be so far behind on it," she stated as she jumped out of bed and walked over to the desk where her bag with files inside was loaded with paperwork.
" And I was right," she sighed and she hauled the bag over to the bed and plopped it on the bed and started rifling through it.
" Sinna you don't have to work and you don't have to be SORRY," he huffed as he took the files away from her.
" Besides I already finished it for you. So you can get your bearings together after being asleep for so long," he said as he put the files back into her business bag and placed it back over to by the desk.
She was silent but she appreciated Seto's help. She gave him a smile and he blushed slightly.
" Luca did say that she was going to act weird. But i am already kind of liking the new Sinna. It's the first time I have seen her with a genuine smile on her face," he thought and he gave her a smirk.
" thank you," she said with a gentle tone which cased Seto blush a bit deeper. He never really had someone say thank you so kindly to him. Not since.
" Your welcome," he said quietly and she started get out of bed.
" Where is Luca, I need to talk to him," she stated and Seto shook his head.
" He took off when I came back here from work. He said that he didn't want to feel your wrath from him lying to you for how long," he said using his thumb to point out the door.
Sinna was silent and her bangs hung over her eyes.
" I see. I could understand his point of view," she said in a tone that caught Seto's attention. He looked at her more closely and saw a tear run down her face.
" Mr. Kaiba. May I ask you something?" she said still looking down at the floor.
" Sure I don't see why not," he responded.
" Am I scary to you?" she questioned in a sorrow filled tone. Seto's heart dropped hearing her sound like that.
He contemplated how to respond to the teary eyed Sinna. But he could only think of one thing to do. He walked over to her as she started to wipe the tears away, he stuck his hand out as he reached for her. Once he was close enough he put his hand behind her head and pulled her into his chest.
" Your about as scary as a little rabbit," he chuckled and she opened her eyes and tears trickled down her face.
" Please don't cry. I hate seeing people cry, even though everyone that works for me or people who I know think of me as a cold-hearted asshole. But I do have a heart when it comes to people I trust and care for. Including you." he stated and he could hear a sudden gasp come from her. He soon felt her small arms hug him back tightly.
" do you really mean that?" she asked as her voice was muffled by his chest.
" man I really am starting to fall hardcore for her. But you know what? In the long run I care for her deeply. I want to try my best to make sure she is safe. For as long as I have known her, she has been loyal to me and treats me like an equal, just like how Mokuba did before he was murdered. I don't want to suffer like that again. Sinna is my only person I could call a true friend. We sometimes have our tiff but she is always there no matter what. That is probably why I have such a hard time to think when she isn't there. Man I'm starting to sound like a little kid with lonely issues," he thought to himself as he tightened his embrace on her.
"Every word." he responded with a soft smile.
( from the doorway the servants were spying on the two in the bedroom)
" See what did I tell you? Mr. Kaiba does care for Ms. Daughtry," Ruby whispered and added a silent chuckle.
" man I never thought that Mr. Kaiba cared that much about her even though he treats her like he does the rest of us," Misaki stated and he got a smack behind the head by Ruby.
" quiet you!" she snapped in a hushed tone.
" Now come on you all let's give them some privacy," she said and they left to bedroom door.
( with Seto and Sinna)
Seto loosened his hug on her and they separated.
" Sinna I have a question for you?" he said with a smirk and she looked up at him.
" and what would that be sir?" she asked and he bent down a bit to her eye level.
" Do you mind accompanying me to the fall festival today?" he asked and she gave him a small chuckle.
" It's my job to go where ever you go sir. But I would be happy to go with you," she smiled and his smirk grew.
" Okay, we shall leave around noon then," he smiled as he stood up straight.
" Fine by me,' she responded with a smile and he started to walk out of the room.
" Oh and Mr. Kaiba?" she called out before he closed the door.
" Yes?"
" Thank you, for everything you said. It really cheered me up," she smiled and he nodded his head and closed the door with a quiet click.
-later that cold afternoon-
Sinna went into her room in the basement and picked something nice to wear. Even though he wardrobe consisted of dark Gothic looking cloths. She managed to find something fall looking. She but a long sleeve burnt orange V-neck sweater, with brown dress pant with black ballet flats.
She looked in her mirror and she looked different somehow. Something in her was telling her that she was different now. She need that change that she long for, she wanted a normal life but being a demon and all that was not possible. She was confused. She didn't know what she was anymore. Ever since she met her sister her life has fallen apart. She didn't know what to think anymore. Sinna looked away from the mirror then back at it.
" I need to do something soon. I need to kick myself into gear and make a change. Starting now I am going to figure out things about me that I still need to know. Maybe Mr. Kaiba could help me when we go to the festival. It might put me on the path I need to be on," she said to herself before she sighed.
" Well I much not keep Mr. Kaiba waiting," she said and she headed back upstairs to meet Seto at the limo.
" Sinna, you look very nice. I didn't think you had any clothes like that," Seto commented as he walked down the stairs.
" well I might as well try fitting in and not look like a gothic kid," she chuckled and he smirked.
"Well you got that right," he laughed and they walked out the door.
Sinna opened the limo door for Seto and he just stood there.
" What are you doing?" he asked and she looked at him.
" I'm holding the door for you sir," she responded and he shook his head.
He pushed Sinna's hand off the handle and held the door for her instead.
" Ladies first," he smirked and she blushed a light pink.
" As you wish," she smiled and stepped into the limo.
" Since when did we switch places?" she asked as she got into the limo.
" I'm just being a gentlemen," he chuckled as he climbed in after her and shut the door and they were off to the festival. But as the limo drove off a familiar figure was standing on the roof of the mansion, with radiate white wings and black hair he stood waiting once again.
