Rosie sat alone at lunch, as it seemed no different from when she first started school. However, this time it felt different, with everyone glanced at her as they walked by. Rosie's spirits perked up as she heard her name. She turned around and saw Ginger and Ciel walking towards her.
"Hey, Rosie." Ginger waved.
"Oh my glob." Rosie smiled. "You're talking to me."
"Yeah." Ginger paused. "About that. Ciel told me what happened last night."
"Ah." Rosie frowned.
"Come." Ciel blinked. "We should go somewhere more private."
"Really?" Rosie made a face. "It's not like anyone really cares about the murderer enough to eavesdrop on her."
"Didn't Grell kill them?" Ginger asked.
"I've been told otherwise." Rosie glared. Ginger stiffened.
"Look, someone started the rumor, and I didn't know what to think so I just went along with it." Ginger protested.
"You didn't even think to come ask me?" Rosie frowned. "I thought you were cooler than that, Ginger!"
"Well, sorry!" Ginger placed her hands on her hips. "Maybe if you weren't such a bitch about it, I would've."
"Me?" Rosie growled. "A bitch? Excuse me, but it takes one to know one!"
"You wanna go?" Ginger threatened.
"No thanks," Rosie crossed her legs. "I'd rather not get suspended."
"You're just a coward!" Ginger yelled. Rosie noticed that Ciel had gone, probably tired of the girls' argument. "I'm sorry I was ever friends with you!" Ginger stomped off, leaving Rosie behind.
"Pfft." Rosie huffed. "I don't need her anyway. I don't need anyone." 'No one besides Grell, right?' she internally questioned herself. 'I mean, yeah he loves me, but… He got upset when I told him I wanted to leave… Should I even be around someone like that?' Rosie's thought continued a downward spiral until she decided upon a course of action.
"That's it…" She muttered. "I have to. That way, no one will hurt me again…" Rosie stood as the bell rang.
Rosie went straight up to her room when she got home. Some years ago, after a break in while her mother wasn't home and she was at school, Rosie began keeping a knife in her room. She opened the drawer and took out the long, jagged knife.
"No note…" She muttered. "No one has to know why." She glanced at the door, which was locked and shut. "Sorry Ma." She paused. "Sorry Grell… I'll always love you." She pressed the knife to her throat, before hesitating. That was all it took.
"Don't you dare!" Rosie, startled, shoved the knife behind her back. Grell wrapped his arms around her and pried the knife from her fingers. "No…" he whispered. "No. Don't you dare take away my rose." He pressed Rosie's head to his chest. "No, I can't let you go like this."
"Grell…" Rosie began crying. She threw her arms around Grell. "I'm so sorry!" She wailed. "I love you… I love you so much."
"It's alright…" Grell comforted, gently hushing Rosie. "It's okay, I'm here now. Everything's going to be alright."
"I'm sorry…" Rosie sobbed, over and over. "I'm so goddamn sorry."
"Don't ever do that again." Grell held her tighter. "I was so scared. I thought I was going to lose you."
"I'm sorry…" Grell placed the knife down on the nightstand.
"Now I know I can't leave you alone." He smiled, then paused. "Do you want to cuddle?" Rosie nodded, unable to form words. "Alright." He laid down next to Rosie on her bed and wrapped his arms around her, pressing her close as though she were a valuable jewel he didn't want to give away. "Darling." Rosie looked up. "If I may, I'd like to know what made you feel this way."
"I just…" Rosie tried to speak. "I had an argument with Ginger, and then I started to think that I didn't really love me, and then…" She started crying again.
"It's alright, love." Grell comforted. "You know I'll always love you. And don't bother with Ginger. She's not worth it."
"Are you going to kill her?" Rosie asked worriedly.
"If she keeps this up." Grell was honest. "If you ever try to hurt yourself again by her words, I'll make sure she'll never hurt you again."
"Alright…" Rosie frowned at the thought of Grell killing Ginger over a stupid argument. She closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.
Grell smiled as he watched Rosie sleep. He knew that he had somewhat been lying to her. He wouldn't kill Ginger, not yet at least, but he had no intention of letting the brunette go off scot free for hurting his rose that bad. He gently stroked Rosie hair. "Sleep tight, darling." As he left, he took the knife out of Rosie's room.
That night, Ginger couldn't help but feel as though she were being watched. She brushed it off as simply lack of sleep, and went to get a glass of hot milk.
As she placed the cup in the microwave, she turned around and came face to face with an angry red head. "What the-
"Be quiet!" The red head hissed as he covered Ginger's mouth. "I know you hurt my Rosie, but she doesn't want me to kill you, even though I so desperately want to, so I'll give you a warning." The red head leaned in close and growled. "If you ever hurt my rose again, I will give you a slow, agonizing death. Understand?" Ginger, now filled with fear as the microwave dinged, nodded. "Remember, I'm always watching." With that, the red head was gone as quickly as he had come. Ginger blinked, shivering, trying to comprehend what had just happened. That was Grell, obviously, but he didn't look like Grell. Grell had brown hair, right?
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter. What do you think, will Ginger keep upsetting Rosie, or will someone else step in and do it for her? Let me know what you think!
