Grell looked at Rosie in disbelief. He wanted to think she was kidding, but the look on her face shattered his hope.
"Oh, darling." Grell frowned. "I… I can't. But I won't let you do it either."
"Why not?" Rosie protested. "I hate them!" I'm sure you hate them to! So why the hell not?"
"This isn't you, love." Grell looked at her sadly. "You used to hate it when I killed those boys. You even saved that other horrid one. You've changed. What happened to my princess?"
"She got hurt too many times." Rosie spoke after a tense pause. "I want to stop being hurt and start hurting back. I want them all to hurt. If you won't help me, then I'll do it myself." Rosie left before Grell could respond.
"One more day." Rosie's mother had promised. "That's all I need…" Rosie told herself. She snuck into an unused section of the library and lit a match. As she brought the flame closer to a book, Grell blew it out. "Grell?" Rosie hissed. "What are you doing?"
"The smoke alarms will go off." Grell warned as the bell for the first class rang. "Stay here. I'll take care of the librarian and the alarms." He kissed Rosie's forehead. "Wait until I come back, okay?" Rosie nodded and Grell left. Rosie sat down in a dark corner, so no one would see her. She stiffened as she heard the sound of a chainsaw and the librarian's scream. The sound of breaking machines resounded through the library.
"What's going on in here?" She heard a male voice that soon changed to a chainsaw and a man's yell. Grell came around the corner, his chainsaw covered in blood. Rosie shivered as she stood.
"Did you do it?" She asked, ready to light another match.
"Yes." Grell nodded. "Go ahead." Rosie smiled and lit the match. She placed the flame between two books, which lit swiftly. The fire quickly spread to the carpet and other bookshelves. Grell picked up Rosie and carried her to the roof of a nearby home. Rosie smiled as smoke rose from the window of the library, which no one took notice of, although some passersby thought they smelled fire.
"We did it." Rosie grinned, nuzzling Grell's chest. "Thanks, Grell!"
"You're welcome, sweetheart." Grell grinned. "Come, let's go home." Rosie closed her eyes as wind rushed in her ears. "We're here, love." Rosie opened her eyes and saw they were in her room.
"What about Ciel?" Rosie asked herself quietly as Grell put her down.
"Hm?" Grell looked at her, noticing her worry. "You're worried about that demon?"
"Well, yeah." Rosie blushed, fretting that Grell would yell at her again. "I mean, he sort of defended me yesterday…" She paused. "Are… are you mad at me?"
"No, dear." Grell gave a comforting smile. "Not you…" Rosie raised an eyebrow, but didn't question Grell's odd tone.
A few hours later, Rosie turned on the TV to the news, hoping to see if she had succeeded. "A few hours ago, a school in Michigan had nearly been completely burned down." The news reporter spoke. Rosie grinned in triumph. "The fire was said to have started in the library, which felt the worst of the damage, and began spreading to the courtyard."
"I saw it, like, burning a tree." A student spoke hesitantly, explaining his story. "I ran to go get help, and when we called 9-1-1, the entire courtyard was burned."
"There have been at least eight reported injuries." The reporter continued as Grell walked in the room.
"We did it!" Rosie cried. Grell couldn't help but smile at Rosie's glee.
"It has also been reported that a teacher and a student have gone missing." The reporter continued, as pictures of Sebastian and Ciel showed on the screen. "Any leads to where they are will be appreciated." Rosie's eyes widened. Ciel was missing? She didn't care much for Sebastian, but Ciel? Gone? Maybe they went back to Hell or something…
"Is everything alright?" Grell asked, looking at the TV. He scowled at the sight of Ciel's picture before it went away and the story went to a local robbery. 'That demon…' Grell thought. 'I have to do something before he takes my Rosie…'
A/N: Sorry to leave it off at a short chapter. I'm short on time. Hope you enjoyed!
