"Phantomhive?" Mr. Rother called out as he took attendance. No response; Ciel wasn't there. "Absent… Rossene?" Rosie looked at the classroom door expectantly, as though wishing Ciel would come through any minute. 'Where is Ciel?' She thought worriedly. 'It's probably none of my business, but…' After much self-debate, Rosie decided it was nothing to worry about. Ciel was a demon after all. He could take care of himself.

"But what's a demon to a Reaper?" Rosie muttered as she opened her locker, placing her notebook inside.

"Ma!" Rosie called as she walked through the doorway. "I'm home!"

"Hey, Rosie!" Her mother greeted.

"Where's Grell?" Rosie asked, putting her backpack down.

"He said he had to leave." Her mother explained. "But he'll be back."

"Alright." Rosie shrugged.

An hour or two passed and Grell still had not returned. However, by the time he did, Rosie and her mother were both asleep. Grell smiled, lying down next to Rosie.

"Hello, my darling." He whispered, stroking Rosie's hair. "Did you miss me? I missed you." He gave a soft chuckle, pressing Rosie closer to him. "I took care of that demon for you." Grell kissed Rosie's forehead. "Don't worry, love. I'll always protect you."

"Okay, guys." Mr. Rother seemed on edge. "I've got some bad news: Ciel's gone missing." Rosie's eyes widened. "I'm sure none of you know anything, but please keep an eye out and be safe."

"Ciel's missing?" Rosie muttered as Mr. Rother continued.

"And on another note." He spoke. "I will be retiring tomorrow, so you will be getting a new teacher."

"Wonder who it is…" A boy mused.

"I want you all to give him as much, if not more respect than you would give me. Understood?" The class nodded. "Good. Sorry to end class like that. Have a good day and stay safe."

Rosie couldn't focus during the rest of her classes. 'Ciel's missing.' The thought kept running through her mind. 'What happened to him? Did Grell have something to do with it?'

"Grell?" Rosie asked after her mother had left for a party.

"Yes, dear?" Grell smiled.

"Ciel's gone missing." Rosie stated. "and I think you had something to do with it."

"You're still worried about that demon?" Grell asked in half-disbelief.

"Well, yeah…" Rosie faltered. "He's my friend, so…"

"But he kissed you!" Grell cried. "I-I had to protect you." He paused, seeing Rosie's hurt face.

"So you did have something to do with it." Rosie frowned.

"Yes…" Grell nodded, knowing Rosie would be upset with him. "I'm so sorry, love." He reached out a hand, but Rosie slapped it away.

"Save it." Rosie growled. Grell frowned sadly.

"Darling, please." He begged. "I-I'm so, so sorry!"

"I don't want to hear it." Rosie began walking away, then stopped. "I… I hate you!" She cried, running upstairs to her room, leaving Grell devastated.

-Earlier: Monday night-

"I know you're there, Reaper." Ciel spoke, turned around. Grell smirked, stepping out of the shadows.

"Damn demon." Grell growled. "How dare you touch my Rosie!" Ciel huffed.

"Weren't you aware?" Ciel asked rudely. "She's afraid of you."

"She is?" Grell was taken aback. "I was never told this!"

"Perhaps she was simply afraid of what your response would be. Either way," Ciel turned around. "She doesn't deserve someone like you! You, who tries to erase any chance of her leaving you!"

"She doesn't deserve a demon who only wants her soul either!" Grell yelled, raising his chainsaw. "I however, love her for who she is!"

"How can you be so sure I only want her soul?" Ciel barked. Grell growled.

"You damn demon!" Grell lunged towards Ciel. "I'll tear you apart!" Ciel, unfortunately, was too slow and taken by surprise that Grell would attack so quickly.

-Present Time: Tuesday Afternoon-

Rosie sat at her desk, crying. She heard a soft knocking at her door. "Rosie? Sweetie, it's me."

"Go away…" Rosie whimpered.

"Darling, please let me in." Grell pleaded. Rosie paused.

"Fine." Rosie spoke hesitantly. Grell slowly opened the door.

"Sweetheart…" Grell tried to find the words to say. "Darling, I'm so sorry."

"Then why did you do it?" Rosie yelped, startling Grell. "Why did you kill Ciel?"

"I had too!" Grell protested. "He was going to take you away from me!"

"Is that all you care about?" Rosie yelled sharply. "Just worrying about if I'm going to leave you or not! I don't know if you have, but I haven't forgotten that time!" Her voice softened. "I'm scared, mortified, of you, Grell. I… I don't think I can go on with you…"

"You're… leaving me?" Grell took on a hurt face.

"Yeah…" Rosie frowned. "Just… just go." She looked up. "Get out of my room. I never want to see you in here again." Grell paused, then looked down sadly.

"Alright…" As he walked towards the door, he added. "But, I'm still not giving up. I will love you forever! I love you so much more than anyone else ever will!" He closed the door leaving Rosie alone.

"I hate you, Grell…" She cried, remembering Ciel. "I hate you so much…"
