"It's quite alright, Miss Eason." Mr. Faustus gave a hardly comforting smile. "May I ask as to why you have your backpack with you? Surely there is no school today." Rosie stiffened.
"Well…" She hesitated. Mr. Faustus smirked.
"No need." He said calmly. "I already know. You've run away from home, haven't you?" Damnit! Rosie swore in her head.
"Yeah…" She slowly nodded.
"As I thought." Mr. Faustus adjusted his glasses. "Now, I have a question for you: would you like to stay with me?"
"Huh?" Rosie jumped.
"It's alright. I have a 'son'. I think you two would get along fine." Rosie was suspicious.
"Well, alright…" She reluctantly agreed.
"Wonderful." Rosie thought she saw Mr. Faustus smile, but perhaps it was only her mind. "Shall we go?" Rosie nodded, following Mr. Faustus.
"Oh, where are you, Rosie?" Grell frowned as he scanned the area from a rooftop. It had only recently occurred to Grell that Rosie may have run away. For what reason, he wasn't sure. However, he was determined to find her and bring her home.
As he jumped to another roof, Grell began to ponder all the reasons Rosie may have left. Did she do something she was ashamed of? Did someone do something to her? Had someone forced her to leave? Grell knew it had to be something bad; Rosie wouldn't just up and leave like this.
His breath caught in his throat as he saw Rosie with that demon Claude. "My love…" He was almost sad as he saw Rosie nod and walk somewhere with Claude. Was she leaving him? For that demon? Grell scowled. "My love… My Rosie. You said you would never leave me, and now you're going with that demon?" Grell stealthily followed them, making sure not to be seen. "No, I won't let you. You're mine. All mine."
"Do you really live here?" Rosie asked in astonishment. Standing before her was a large mansion on the outskirts of town. She was surprised she'd never heard of it before.
"Yes." Claude opened the large doors. "Please, come in." As Rosie entered the mansion, she happened to see a spider web in the upper right of the doorway. She shivered; she hated spiders.
"Claude?" A young, blonde boy came down the stairs. "Who is that?" The boy reminded Rosie of Ciel in a way. Ciel… Rosie thought, almost nostalgically. Where are you? Are you alright?
"This is one of my students." Mr. Faustus, who was apparently named Claude. "Rosie Eason."
"So this is Rosie." The boy smiled, running down the stairs. "My name is Alois Trancy! It's a pleasure to meet you!" If he's Mr. Faustus' son, why does he have a different last name? Maybe he isn't Mr. Faustus' son after all.
"I didn't know I was famous." Rosie gave a shy smirk.
"I've just heard so much about you from Claude!" Alois smiled. "I've been dying to meet you!"
"Oh have you…" Rosie mumbled. Alois grabbed Rosie's hand.
"Come! You ran away, right?" Rosie was shocked. "I'll show you to your room!" Why and how does this kid know I ran away? Why does he already have a room for me? Am I staying here? I suppose it's better than being with Grell…
Is it really? A voice in Rosie's head asked. Is it really alright to stay with a stranger rather than Grell?
"Is it…?" Rosie mumbled.
"Hello?" Alois frowned. "Did you hear anything of what I just said?"
"Oh, sorry." Rosie looked up. "What did you say?"
"I said we're here." Alois opened the door to reveal a large room, at least twice the size of Rosie's original room; it was a lovely lavender color, with various flowers around the room. "How do you like it?" Alois smiled. "I made it specially for you!"
"It's cool." Rosie forced a smile. "Thank you."
Outside, Grell glared down into the window from a tree. That brat was trying to win Rosie over? "No." He shook his head. "I will never let that happen." He saw Rosie smile. "My love, I will free you."
