Hello readers I am sorry for not updating yesterday it completely slipped my mind I have been very busy with school. Hope you all enjoy this chapter don't forget to review!

Chapter 5

When Ratchet woke up he was in a small cage underground. The underground room he was in was lit by small lanterns and they made the shadows of his capturers dance and shift. He could see Clank duct taped in a corner not yet awake. Ratchet squinted and could see other cages larger than his and the contents were not pleasant. Inside of every cage in the room there was a Garganian all of them past out. Ratchet could hear whispers in the distance but couldn't make out any words he just sat in the cage and looked around waiting. He was worried that if he made an escape attempt then Jane and Isabel might come knock him out again. He especially didn't want Isabel coming to get him she seemed mean, but after about five minutes he couldn't help it he crouched in the cage and with all his might lunged at the door and surprisingly it flew right open. Ratchet ran over to Clank and whispered to clank trying to rouse him but with no luck then he picked up Clank and turned him around and saw that Isabel had found Clanks off pad and managed to shut Clank down, Ratchet typed on the pad and reactivated Clank and unwrapped him from the duct tape.

"Where are we?" Clank asked

"I have no clue but we're getting out ASAP!" Ratchet replied

"Ok which way should we go?" Clank asked

"This way of course!" said Isabel behind Ratchet in a matter o factly voice, with about five other people behind her.

Ratchet spun around to face Isabel and Clank jumped on Ratchets back as Ratchet pulled out his Blaster that Isabel hadn't searched him for and shot one of the people standing behind Isabel. Isabel and everyone else jumped back at the sight of the strange weapon. That's when Ratchet took over the situation and started giving commands.

"All right here's what's going to happen someone is going to explain everything then show us the way out OR I can get past you myself and we will show ourselves out. Which is it going to be?" Ratchet shouted to the crowd which had now grown due to the shot that Ratchet had fired.

Isabel step forward and began to speak "About a year ago all over the world ships suddenly appeared and unloaded countless lizard things, and they began to spread like wild fire destroying everything our army tried to stop them but we could not prevail. Our government soon fell and that was the end for America, you see we had become so reliant on our government that when it fell we went into chaos. Soon we were doing more damage to ourselves than the lizards were eventually the fighters all died and those who remained banded together to try and survive and if possible defeat these creatures so far we have only been able to capture and tranquilize them into a coma. As for the way out go behind us up the stairs and to the left and please close the gates on your way out."

When she had finished Ratchet took a minute to think about what she had said. He soon realized that these people we not hostile but in need of help and saving so he put his Blaster away and tried to offer assistance.

"I am very sorry for the troubles that have come to pass on you please know that I came to this planet to help the humans fight the Garganians not to cause more trouble, and if you will let me I will help you find a way to regain your planet. I have help other planets that were in similar situations as yours is right now and so far I have not lost a galaxy yet. So I ask you all will you let me help you to fight and to win?"

The crowd took a full three minutes of consideration until finally the silence was broken by a shouted "YES!" Ratchet looked and the shout had come from Jane and was soon followed by more shouts of agreement. Ratchet walked towards the crowed and they led him into the room behind them some of the crowed picked up the wounded boy ratchet had shot and put him on a stretcher and carried him away. The room they led Ratchet into was much better lit than the room Ratchet woke up in there was also a decently sized rectangular table of food laid out. Everyone gathered around the table and took a seat Ratchet took a seat on the long end of the table near the end Clank had a seat next to him and out of another back room came a young man about 15 he was skinny and tall about 5'10 he had long brown hair and he was dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt. The young man took the seat at the head of the table he looked at Ratchet on his right about three seats down and introduced himself as Justin.

"I heard your speech and am glad that you have come I hope that together we can beat these monsters but know this we do still have rules in this group and if they are broken we will not hesitate to…see you out." Justin told Ratchet.

"I am here only to help Clank and I both we will try our best to complete this mission." Ratchet assured Justin.

"Indeed sir I am sure that there will be no problem conforming to your rules and regulation." Clank tossed in

"Very well the!" Justin said in a loud and cheerful voice "Let us eat then and head off to bed we rise early tomorrow." Justin said

Ratchet began to reach for something on the table when Jane who was seated on his right grabbed his hand and shook her head. Ratchet looked around and saw that every head was bowed and he looked to Justin who said "Even in these bad times we keep to God." Ratchet nodded and bowed his head when he had Justin began to speak.

"God we thank you for this day and this food, Lord we thank you for these new comers and their safe travels we ask that you protect us and help us to overcome these beast thank you God in Christ name amen."

As Justin finished they all looked up and began to eat, they all began to talk and Jane filled in Ratchet on some of the other group members. Soon everyone was laughing and even Clank seemed to be enjoying himself he had found a girl who was almost as smart as he was and she was explaining Einstein's theory of relativity to him. Ratchet thought it strange that even in these dark times of war and pain that these people could seem to forget that they were in it. Eventually Justin got up and announced that it was time to turn in and he asked Jane to show Ratchet and Clank to their room. They all got up and Ratchet followed Jane down a hallway with Clank on his back. She led them to a room carved out of stone and said good night Ratchet looked at the bed walked over and fell down and before his head hit the pillow he was out for the night!
