Chapter 6

Dear readers I apologize for the extremely late update very busy. I hope you can all forgive me and enjoy the rest of the story!

Water splashed on Ratchet to wake him, Jane had taken the great pleasure of waking him.

"Why on Veldin would you do that!?" Ratchet shouted as he shot up out of bed wrench in hand.

Jane had a smirk on her face and replied, "Just because."

"Clank? What time is it?" Ratchet asked

"Well now that depends on which time you are referring to our time around 2 in the morning but here on earth 10:30 in the morning." Clank said

"What it's 2 in the morning!" Ratchet yawned

Jane laughed and said, "Talk about your jet lag."

Jane led them out of the cave into the hallway and down to the dinning area, breakfast and long pasted but Jane had saved Ratchet some food. As Ratchet ate he asked about what they did, and how Justin was leader, what they were doing about the lizards, did they have some form of government, running were there more survivors? Things like that Jane had most of the answers she summed all the questions up and just told the what was going on.

"Nothing" Jane said.

"Nothing? You're doing nothing?" Ratchet asked shocked

"Pretty much I mean we stay down here Justin worked in a huge restaurant prior to the attacks, so he covers food and he's the one who provided shelter. Justin had a plan for everything that could and couldn't happen he had plans thought out for zombie apocalypses you name it he had a plan for it. Sadly giant lizards never crossed his mind, but he had a similar one so he tweaked it and here we go. Now all of his plans were to survive not to defeat the opposing force. Nevertheless it was more than we all had so he had one rule "Ego salvum te faviam super te." Which means "I save you I rule you" we all followed we had no better plan. As for government there hasn't been one since the attacks started. The survivors are scattered around we know we aren't the only ones but we see no need to gather we can't beat the lizards." Jane summed up.

"Well not for long where's Justin we're fixing this!" Ratchet shot up and ran looking for Justin to discus an attack on the lizards.

Ratchet got lost pretty quick looking for Justin he checked the kitchen, the stock room, every thing and everywhere but Justin couldn't be found. Finally Ratchet found the door and ran out side into daylight and looked around. He didn't see Justin at first, the street was deserted paper flew around and the day look dark from the sun trying to shine through the smoke. Ratchet ran up the street and up on top of a small building he found Justin. Justin had on some sort of battle armor very small nothing that would really hold up it looked more like a costume the closer Ratchet got to him. Justin also had a sword in his hand and a few knives on his thigh when Ratchet got to him he started ranting on how they should be doing something not just sitting here 'surviving' while their whole planet was being destroyed! Justin through the whole thing said nothing he just stood there and let Ratchet blow off steam. When Ratchet was finally through Justin spoke in a calm collected voice.

"Ratchet I appreciate your concern and believe me I don't plan on doing nothing I've had a plan for everything that could happen and so far I have failed once to have a plan. Once was enough this past year I've been coming up with a plan, I mean after all we're out numbered a hundred to one. A plan like this cant be thought up in a day now most of the plan is complete we just need two or three people to go gather intelligence on our reptilian friends and the plan will or should work out from there."

"Great so who are you going to send to get this intelligence?" Ratchet asked more calm now that he knew they weren't just being a bunch of pansies.

"Well I thought about Jane and Isabel but I was afraid they would fight or argue and be captured and then no one would listen to me and we would live like this for the rest of our lives." Justin answered

"However now that you're here maybe you could go with them and keep them in line I have seen the way you fight you could be of great help to us. After all that is what you came to do." Justin said without looking directly at Ratchet

"Alright I'll go, but why didn't you just go with them?" Ratchet asked

"It's very simple if I left and we were gone oh say two days these people would go crazy and say we had died and that hope was gone much like when Moses went up the mountain the people went crazy and made a golden calf. Same situation I leave these people would run and be killed to quote a very man 'A person is smart PEOPLE are dumb, panicky and you know it.'" Justin replied

"Who said that?" Ratchet asked

"Agent K from Men in Black, regardless we need you now I have been coming up here for months watching them finding where they run they hardly ever come by here anymore but I can see them around us. I think I've found their hiding spot you may have pasted it on your way down it appears they all gather to the Hollywood sign."

"Alright so what are we waiting for I'll go get Jane and Isabel and we can get ready and head over tonight when it's dark out." Ratchet said

"Okay but be careful I'd like to have them back in one piece if it's possible." Justin said as Ratchet started down the street

When ratchet got down the street and back to the hiding place he ran in and started looking for Jane and Isabel of course he found Isabel first she was hanging her laundry up when he found her. Ratchet called her over and explained the whole thing so no one else would hear. When he had finished Isabel laughed and started on about how Justin's plans were all about surviving and how he'd never asked them to do that. Then Ratchet challenged her saying she was just a coward and he'd have to find someone else to take with him and how Justin shouldn't have thought of her in the first place. That got her attention she grabbed him and started looking for Jane.

They found Jane in her room reading Isabel explained what Ratchet had told her and Jane said what are we waiting for. So they began to get ready and wait for darkness to fall on L.A. When they had packed some previsions and told Justin they were leaving they headed out in the night knowing they might never return.
